It was a chilly night in the city of New York, yet all over the five boroughos, lights shown brightly everywhere.
After all, it was known as the city that never sleeps.
Diners, movie theaters, bowling allies, you name it flashed neon colored glows.
However, the area that had the brightest glow was actually coming from a most unusual place.
The location just happen to be the inside of a garbage can.
A few days earlier, on Thanksgiving day acutally, the team known as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, along with their human friends, April O'Neil, and Casey Jones were battling the gang of foot clan leader Shreeder, who were on a major heist to steal mutagen from a local lab.
Thanks to the turtles with some help from April and Casey though, they were able to foil the heist.
What was suppose to be the perfect plan lead by another group of mutants (who were once humans) turned to a major bust.
Only one member in the team was willing to rsk it all for the mutagen, which was Tiger Claw, who made himself the appointed leader.
Even with the security, smoke alarms and the sprinkler system all going off at once, there was no stopping him.
While the other mutants wanted to back out, Tiger Claw forced them into the lab, not wanting to anger Shredder or Baxter Stockman, (who needed the mutagen for his experiments), which they indeed ended up doing.
The team known as the turtles meanwhile discovered that the lab itself had a massive supply of mutagen.
Fearing that it would fall into the wrong hands, (ie Shredder's gang or the aliens known as the Kranng) it was up to the team to keep a close on on the lab and the mutagen.
In the outcome of rushing Tiger Claw had smashed a nearby security camera, in a haste of not getting spotted, a clock as well as a window as a mthod of breaking in the lab.
And while Shredder's gang did manage to steal some mutagen, it wasn't the mother load they planned to get in the first place.
During the now poorly conducted break-in several containters of mutagen slipped out of a few hands and ended up in the trash in.
Early the next morning, a janitor at the lab was greeted by the mess made by Tiger Claw and the rest of his mutant gang, and had to clean it up.
He threw the broken secuirty camera and a clock that had been smashed, during the break-in in to a nearby trash can, not knowing that there was a smashed container of mutagen at the bottom of the can.
The objects began to beam the same bright green glow as the trash can.
However, the broken camera and clock soon began to conjel together.
Once they connected, the figure began to grow until suddenly split the trash can apart due to the size it had become.
Just then, a large stray dog approached the object and began to growl and bark loudly.
The mutant figure glared at the dog, as the hands on the face began to move counterclock wise, before flashing a light from the camera at the dog.
Within seconds of the flash going off, the visious dog had now transformed into a scared puppy, who ran off whimpering.
The clock/camera mutant left out a growl of laughter.
"For the last time Mikey no," said the ninja turtle known as Donatello, or Donnie for short, this very evening while he and the other turtles were on patrol.
The four were keeping and eye or in this case 4 to all 16 eyes open for Shredder, his gang or the kraang.
"Oh come on bro," said the turtle called Michelangelo, or rather Mikey, but his brothers who were also his teammates, with a slight whine in his voice.
"I'm sorry Mikey, but Donnie's right, we can't trust you with the egg smoker bombs," said Leonardo or Leo the leader of the bunch.
"Why not?"
"Because you just toss them around and waste them," spoke another brother Raphael AKA Raph for short.
"Exactly.
These smoke bombs take hours sometimes days to make and we have to save them for emergencies," Donnie pointed out, as he was the team's resident scienetist and gadget maker.
"I'm tired of you guys always treating me like a little kid," Mikey pouted.
"That's because you're the youngest of the group, and sometimes the most immature," Leo pointed out.
"Hey!"
"Truth hurts bro," added Raph.
"Donnie is younger than you both and he's more mature," Mikey pointed out.
"Thanks Mikey.
But you're still not allow to keep in charge of the smoke bombs," said Donnie.
"Worth a try though."
Mikey just got dirty looks from Raph and Donnie, while he gave them a sheepish smile and a small giggle.
Just then, Leo heard a sound.
"Shh!
Quiet guys, I think I heard something," he told his brothers.
"Where's it coming from?" Mikey asked.
"Down there."
The leader of the group pointed to an alley way, which was right across the street.
"Wait a minute.
We're right across from Pheniox LabCorps.
I'm willing to be Shredder's gang or the kranng are there to get that mutangen," said Donnie.
"Well, what are we waiting for?
Let's kick some shell," said Raph, as he instantly took out his sais, and prepare for attack mode.
Leo also got out his katana swords, while Mikey spun his knunchucks and Donnie prepared his bo staff.
The team then made their way across the street to the alley.
Once they arrived, they heard a noise.
The turtles began to check the alley to see where the source of the sound was.
The sound was whimpering.
Mikey poked his head around some trash cans and saw a frighten looking puppy.
Always a lover of animals, the turtle picked up the puppy, who in returned licked his face.
"Aww, he's sooo cute.
Can't we keep him guys?" Mikey asked his brothers.
"NO!" Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael answered at once.
"You've got to be kidding us right?" said Raph.
"After what you did to April's cat, not a chance," added Donnie, referring to the stray cat April had brought to the team and had ate some ice cream mixed with an exlier, changing into a half cat, have mutant ice cream creature called Ice Cream Kitty.
"And there have been time that we've had to take care of her, plus clean up after her," Leo pointed out.
"I promise that it won't happen again.
Turtle scout honor, said Mikey, And I even have the perfect name for him.
Clock face."
"What kind of a stupid name is that and where did you think of it in the first place?" asked Raph.
"From that thingamabob standing behind you guys."
Leo, Donnie and Raph slowly turned around to find themselves face-to-face with the mutant creature.
