Chapter 13

Rachel woke up the next morning, groggy and sleepy. She felt a warm thing behind her in the bed and shifted to see Dick's sleeping face, peaceful and honestly, super cute. Grinning, she softly placed his sunglasses, which were on the bedside table, back over his face, hiding those beautiful azure eyes she'd grown to love.

There was a knock on the door and Wally walked in to see the ship-worthy image before him. He smirked, literally doing the Lenny face and he then left, saying that breakfast was ready.

Robin awoke when Wally had spoken, and his mouth stretched into a lazy grin when he saw Rachel smiling down at him. They stretched, no longer feeling awkward about sleeping together, and wandered into the kitchen to the smell of M'gann burning whatever she was cooking.

Robin chuckled and they sat down to eat. Kaldur asked how they had all slept and Wally wriggled his eyebrows at the two, Rachel blushed profusely while Robin gave the speedster a BatGlare.

The others, unaware of the trio's little interaction, all replied saying that they slept well, and M'gann began to tell them all of her funny dream that made absolutely no sense.

Rachel took the time to study all of them, but when she got to Artemis, her heart leapt out of her mouth. How could she have been so stupid as to not notice who she was? It was her best friend.

After breakfast, Rachel followed Artemis to her room and they sat down on her bed.

"So…" Rachel began, unsure of what to say. Artemis smiled softly and saved them from an awkward silence.

"So, we're both superheroes." Rachel broke into a grin and they started to talk about how amazing it was, and how Artemis coped balancing the two lives out. The conversation slid onto their friends, and Artemis suddenly stared at Rachel with wide eyes.

"What?" Rachel asked nervously.

"Oh… my… god." The blonde deadpanned, "If you're… you… then Robin is…." Her eyes got even wider, "Richard Grayson…. is a literal Dick." Rachel burst out laughing and soon both girls were lying on her bed, unable to breathe.

"You. You are hilarious." Rachel said sarcastically and they both cackled. Once they'd calmed down, the archer sighed.

"I seriously can't believe it took me so long to realise. It's so obvious!" They talked for a little while longer, before Robin popped his head in and told Rachel that he was to 'take her home'. She nodded but asked if he could just close the door for a second and he obliged.

"So Robin," Artemis began, "I think I've figured out your secret." She had expected him to panic or claim that he didn't know what she was talking about, but he leaned against the door and grinned.

"Finally! It's been a real pain in the ass to lie to my friends all the time! I'm glad you figured it out A." Artemis smiled, shaking her head. "We'll laugh about this some day." Robin grinned wider.

"So, back to the manor?" Rachel nodded and they bade the blonde goodbye, before leaving.

Over the next few weeks, Rachel bonded with the team and had fully moved into the mountain, though she still visited Dick from time to time, and she was doing great. It was easier to talk to Artemis at school too, and the blonde started treating Dick how she treated Robin, like a little brother.

She'd made muffins with M'gann, beaten both Wally, and to everyone's surprise, Robin at video games, she'd chatted and bonded with Superboy, Conner, about nothing in particular, and practiced magic with Kaldur. She'd also got her superhero suit, and Alfred had done an amazing job. It fit like a glove and didn't restrict her movement. It was a black leotard with ruffled boots and a deep purple cape that matched her eyes. It also had a hood and a belt with black and red gems embedded in it.

On top of all of that, her final powers had kicked in, and she could fly. M'gann helped her to control it, and she was feeling a lot more confident in herself, something that showed up more at school, which was nice.

The only bad thing was the dreams. Her father laughing in a hellish setting, her friends dead at his feet and her with skin a deep red, and eyes of acid yellow. Worse things too. Warnings.

On Friday, the team had a mission. Batman had called them to the briefing room and announced what they were doing.

"Psimon has been sighted in Bialya again. It seems he has recovered from your last encounter."

"Do we need to go and carter him off to jail?" Kid Flash asked.

"No. Psimon is already in custody, thanks to Red Arrow. Unfortunately, Red Arrow has not contacted us, and we have reason to believe that he has fallen to one of the psychic's attacks. Your job is to bring him in, and hopefully," he looked towards Raven and Miss Martian, "restore his mind. Take the BioShip. Good luck."

The team nodded and set off to the hanger.
