Chapter 16
Robin was still recovering from the talk that he and Wally had had in his room. Now that he'd finally admitted it out loud, he could really see that he definitely liked Rachel. It was definitely bigger than his little crush on Babs a few years ago, and she shipped them together. It put a giddy smile on his face that the red headed speedster raised an eyebrow to. Then a grin spread across his face as he realised what Robin was thinking about.
The younger boy blushed and glared at his friend before returning to what he was doing, which was examining the Crystal of Azarath. The two, and Kaldur who was supervising, which was necessary, were in the Lab, basically just messing around and doing different tests on it, to see how the 'magic' was made, (Wally was still skeptical).
At one point, Wally decided to see if it would shatter at a 100-decibel frequency as that is what glass would shatter at. Kaldur made them wear special sound-mufflers to that they wouldn't rupture their eardrums, and they locked the soundproof door, as to not give Conner headache, and Wally blasted the crystal.
The crystal began to pulse with a red light, and when the red head turned it up to 150, Robin faintly heard someone scream. He signalled for Wally to stop and he did so. Yanking his protective earmuffs off, he opened the door to hear someone yelling for help. All of the boys' eyes widened and they raced to where the sound was coming from, the training room.
When they got there, the saw Artemis in training clothes crouching over an unconscious figure. As they got closer, Robin made out her short black and red hair, porcelain skin, and purple-and-black workout clothes. The little bird's eyes widened.
It was Rachel.
