Chapter 19

Artemis, Kaldur and M'gann won the bet. They all thought that Rachel and Robin would get together by the end of the next two months. Wally and Conner both thought that they would get together but that it would take a long time to get them to 'man up',so to speak.

Kaldur won an extra bet between the winners, he was the only one who thought it would be Robin to finally confess, so all in all, they agreed never to tell either of the lovebirds *pun intended* about their scheme. But the bat knows all.

Robin lay the cold, damp towel on his girlfriend's forehead. She may have woken up from her almost-coma, but she had a fever. He'd literally burned himself on her skin. Must be her demon side's defence mechanism of some sort and she'd apologised profusely afterwards.

"Hey, Dick?" She croaked.

"Yeah?" He said softly, previously unaware that she was awake.

"I know that I'm not in the best state at the moment," he snorted, "But if you're taking care of me, who's taking care of you?" Concern was laced in her voice.

"I'm fine Rache." Robin lied. He was exhausted, but at the moment, she was more important than him.

"Yeah right." She scoffed. Reaching up, she removed his mask and frowned when she saw how dark the circles under his eyes were.

"Ok. Either you go to bed, or I will get Artemis to lock you in your room and force you to sleep." He didn't doubt that A would disobey her. Even in this state, you would have to be Joker level crazy to defy Rachel.

He sighed. "Ok deal. But you have to promise me that you'll sleep too." She nodded and Dick smiled wearily at her. He kissed her hand and took his mask before leaving her room, where she'd been relocated after much begging.

Before he went to his room, Robin headed into the kitchen to see Artemis and Wally arguing about God knows what, while Kaldur ignored them, reading a book from the library at The Hall of Justice.

Robin smirked and rolled his eyes, walking over to the fridge and grabbing a glass of milk. Milk always helped him sleep, his Mamă always gave him some at night. He sighed at the memory, catching the attention of Wally, who grinned at him.

"Hey Rob, did Rache force you to go and rest?" The bird gave a tired smile.

"Yep, you'd be crazy not to listen to her." The others hummed in agreement.

"Ok cool, we'll make sure to tell you if anything goes wrong." The speedster said. Robin thanked him and wandered into his room. He drained the glass and sighed, taking off his mask, locking the door, and settling into the bed.

Soon dreams of his newfound romance caught up with him, and he drifted to sleep with a lazy grin on his face.
