Chapter 4
SO I'M GOING THROUGH THE EPISODES STARTING AT SEASON 13 WHEN AMANDA ROLLINS JOINS THE CAST. AMANDA AND OLIVIA WILL BE TOGETHER, SO THAT MEANS I HAVE TO CHANGE SOME OF THE EPISODES ANYWAY. I WILL GO THROUGH THE EPISODES BY MENTIONING SOME AND FOCUSING ON MY FAVORITES. I WILL CHANGE SOME DETAILS TO MAKE IT THE WAY I WANT IT TO GO.
WRAPPING UP HOME INVASIONS AND THE FALLOUT OF AMANDA'S PROBLEMS.
Amanda finally finished up at IAB, it was not pretty and she was nervous the entire time. She was basically told Cragen was the only reason she still had her shield. She headed back to the precinct embarrassed and in pain. Her stomach and ribs were bruised pretty badly.
She sat down in front of Fin, and winced as she sat. Fin watched her carefully, "Are you ok Amanda?" She shook her head, "Yeah IAB was pissed, but Cragen is helping me." Olivia and Nick walked in shaking their head, "Guys, that was a tough case." Cragen came out, "Liv, I need you right now." Olivia looked worried, "Sure Captain, I'm coming." Amanda knew it was about her and she immediately started on her files.
Olivia walked in, "Shut the door." Olivia complied, "Is everything ok Captain?" He sat down and asked her to take a seat, "Amanda is in trouble, read this and tell me what you think." Olivia turned the file around and found out it was Amanda's jacket. "Sir, I don't think I'm supposed to look at this. Does Amanda know…" Cragen sat forward, "Amanda has lost a say in the matter." Cragen went on to explain the trouble she was in and the deal he made with her.
Olivia read through her file, something was off, she was a good detective, better than how it read. She was disappointed in Amanda's gambling, but she thought something was causing it. "Captain, why me and what do you want me to do?" Amanda is a grown woman, she's not gonna to listen to me." He stood up, "Olivia sooner rather than later, you will be running this unit. If Amanda can beat whatever this is, I believe she will be a valuable asset. She needs discipline, almost like a parent to a child. You have grown up right in front of me, it's time to pay it back."
Olivia left the office with a clear understanding of what was expected. When she came out she looked in Amanda's direction, but Amanda didn't make eye contact. Fin watched the exchange, but didn't know what was going on. Amanda stood up, in pain, "Fin I need to take a walk." Fin headed to Cragen, "Cap, can I have a word with you about Amanda?" He looked up, "No, but you can talk to Liv." Fin was really confused, "Liv?"
Cragen needed to get this unit set up right, "Fin come in please." Fin came in, he respected Cragen, they had come a long way. "Fin I've watched you become a great detective. I really had my doubts at times, but you made it. Olivia is a Sergeant now, Munch is going to retire in a month, and I probably won't be around much longer. I would like to leave this unit stronger than ever. I believe in Olivia, you, Amanda, and Nick."
Fin was shocked, "Wow Cap, I don't know what to say." Cragen smiled, "Say you will take the Sergeant's exam next, because Olivia will need a number 2. As for Amanda, she needs Olivia's support and discipline. I don't know the story and she probably won't tell me or you, but if Olivia can handle it, I think she can get it out of her. Amanda needs healing. So if it deals with her, take it to Olivia."
Fin walked out and made eye contact with Liv. "Is he after you too?" Fin shook his head, "Liv are you really dealing with Amanda?" She shook her head, "Well she's hurt. That guy Murphy did a number on her, she winces every time she sits." Olivia looked around, "Where is she?" Fin looked back, "Needed to take a walk she said. Liv how about we go to lunch and talk."
Fin and Olivia went to a small cafe near the precinct, "Fin, what do you know?" Fin sighed, he told her about the gambling and what Amanda confessed. "Honestly Liv, I know there is more, but it will take time for that. Liv she's down 20K, the gambling needs to be addressed, along with her reckless behavior and attitude." Fin gave Liv examples of her doing crazy stuff on the job, "Liv even when we tried to trap Brian, she did something dangerous. She's a good detective, but she is hardheaded." Olivia listened, "Ok I'm gonna to check out her ribs and we will talk."
When they got back, Olivia told Cragen the situation and explained they were heading to the hospital. Cragen smiled, "Good luck." Olivia knew she was in for a fight. Amanda didn't always respect authority. So far Olivia didn't have to deal with her in that aspect, but things were about to change drastically. She walked over to Amanda sitting at her desk. Olivia leaned against the desk, "I need you to follow me to the crib." Amanda rolled her eyes, "Why?" Olivia was taken back by her response, "Cragen talked to you right?" Amanda threw her hands up, "And you're gonna do this here?" Realizing she wasn't getting anywhere, "Yes I am! So get up now and follow me."
Amanda followed Olivia to the room with beds, lockers, and the bathroom with showers. "Amanda I've slept and showered here many times. Cost of the job I guess." Olivia was trying to make small talk, "We do need to talk, but not here. I noticed you wincing when you got up, are you ok?" Amanda knew she was hurt, she saw the bruises and was taking pain meds. "I'm fine." Olivia didn't believe her, "Ok so show me." Amanda was stunned, "You want me to take off my shirt?" Olivia looked, "We're both women, but if you feel uncomfortable, just reach up and bend down to touch your toes."
Amanda regretted her smart ass mouth, she knew she couldn't, not without screaming. "I can't." Olivia narrowed her eyes at her, "So you lied, you're not ok. No more lying." Olivia moved close to Amanda's face, "Do not lie to me, ever. Come on." When Olivia moved away, Amanda felt really hot. She was confused, she looked up to Olivia, but this felt different. "Where are we going?" Olivia stopped at the door, "The hospital, come on now." Olivia expected a fight and was surprised when she followed her.
They arrived at Mercy Hospital and Olivia watched Amanda sign in and sit down. Amanda watched as Olivia talked to a nurse, "Amanda, come on." The nurse showed them down the hall and into an empty room. "I figured you wouldn't want to wait, I've got connections." Amanda smiled but she was sad and embarrassed, "Thanks."
The door opened and in walked a young, tall blond woman, "Hi I'm Dr. Franchella. I heard I have an injured Detective." Olivia elbowed Amanda, "Yes, I'm Detective Rollins." Olivia smiled, "I'll be outside Amanda." Amanda did something unusual, something she never did, she asked for help, "Liv, please stay." Olivia smiled because she always said Olivia and this time she heard her nickname. "Sure, always." When the doctor pulled up Amanda's shirt and Olivia saw the bruises, it was bad. Why was Amanda putting herself through this agony and pain. She saw someone familiar in Amanda. Someone from her past, that did destructive things to hide from the truth and pain. She saw her mother, and even though Amanda wasn't using alcohol, she could see it.
They took X-rays, luckily nothing was broken, just really bad bruises. "Do you think she needs to be on desk duty?" Amanda almost had tears in her eyes at those words, she needed work, the job, and her squad. "No, if she can take the pain she's good, she can't do anymore damage. Soaking in a nice hot bath may help also."
Olivia decided to pick up Chinese for dinner and asked Amanda to come to her place. "Wow your place is so nice Liv. I'll never have this with my gambling problems." Olivia froze, "It was a joke Liv. Too early." Olivia shook her head, "You know we need to talk right?" Amanda shook her head and looked at the pictures on the wall, "Is this your mom?" Olivia set out the food and plates, "Yep." Amanda moved to the dining area, "Where does she live?" Olivia answered, "She's dead, fell down the steps of a bar when she was drunk. We didn't have the best relationship. Come on let's eat."
They talked more during dinner, Olivia figured if she opened up, it would help Amanda open up. It was a long shot, but she did it. She explained her life story, her mom being raped and them not having the greatest relationship because of that. What her death did to her. She told her about her complicated relationship with Elliot Stabler and how hurt she was when he left her.
"Come on, help me clean up." Amanda thought she was such a mom. The conversation continued while cleaning and eventually they ended up on the couch with a bottle of wine. She told her why Fin and her are so close, because he saved her while undercover in prison. She told her about her half brother and how much drama he caused her, including almost losing her shield. "Wow Liv, you were kinda a rule breaker." She laughed, "Cragen saved my ass a few times."
Olivia paused, "Amanda everyone breaks rules from time to time, "I was even recently seeing ADA Haden." Amanda's eyes went wide, "You knew?" Amanda hung her head, "I went to check on you after the hostage situation and I saw you two kissing." Olivia sipped her wine, "Is that why you have been distant over the last month?"
Amanda shrugged she couldn't tell Liv what she was thinking. "Well it's over, just wasn't working out. Amanda, why did you agree with Cragen's decision? Do you think because we're friends I'll be easy on you?" Amanda shook her head, "Liv I know you won't be easy. I'm surprised you aren't pissed." She grabbed her chin towards her, "Oh I am beyond pissed, but I'm controlling it." Amanda swallowed hard feeling her hands on her, "What will happen if I do something wrong?" Olivia drank her wine, "Well that depends on what you do wrong. Amanda I'm not going to play any games with you. And if you even think of gambling again, I'm gonna spank your ass." Amanda swallowed hard, she felt like a child.
