Chapter 7

THE CHAPTER STARTS WITH SEASON 13:EPISODE 16, CHILD WELFARE. THE NEXT EPISODES WILL BE MENTIONED ARE (19) STREET REVENGE, FATHER DEAREST, AND LEARNING CURVE.

Monday morning came and everyone was in the squad room, they got a case of an abandoned baby at a church. Olivia and Nick were about to head out when Olivia's brother walked in, "Olivia! I need your help." The room froze and Cragen came out of his office. He knew what happened the last time Simon showed up, he almost cost Olivia her shield. "Simon, it's been five years." She couldn't believe he was showing up now, but she could never say no to her baby brother. She looked around seeing everyone looking at them, so she introduced him to everyone.

Cragen knew Olivia needed time, "Rollins go with Nick." Amanda looked at Liv giving her a sign that they could talk later. After talking to Simon and learning she had a niece, but they were in trouble with CPS, Olivia did the right thing this time she asked for time off to help her brother. Olivia hired a lawyer and was busy with Simon's case. Things weren't good and it looked as if they were taking the kids away. SImon and his fiancé took the kids and ran, it only made things worse. They caught them and even though Simon took a plea deal, it broke up his family and he disappeared again.

After it was over she was ready to return to work. Olivia stopped by the squad, "Captain, I tried to do the right thing this time and it still didn't turn out good. How's Amanda? I've been so busy." Cragen sighed, "You took your eyes off your child." Olivia laughed, "Great!" Cragen smiled, "It's not totally bad, she's been late and in the last case her and Nick had a fight." Olivia was shocked, "What kind of fight?" Cragen stood up, "You know yelling, screaming, cursing in the squad room, but I'll let her tell you."

Olivia headed to Amanda's place. She stood there knocking on the door, "Hey Liv!" Olivia smiled, "I thought you would be mad at me. I disappeared on you, some friend." Amanda invited her in, "I'm not mad. I'm sorry about your brother Liv." Amanda passed her a glass of wine, "How about dinner, the Chinese restaurant will make a delivery here." Olivia sat down, "Sure, I would love that." Amanda placed the order, "I got you extra egg rolls." Olivia sipped her wine and sat it down, she waited to see if she would come clean.

She told Amanda everything and finally got to vent about her selfish brother, "My only family left and that's it." They finished dinner and Amanda looked worried, so Liv asked. "Are you ok? I'm sorry I've been ranting the entire time." Amanda bit her lip, "I've been late and got into a nasty argument with Nick. You weren't there and Captain spoke to me."

Olivia leaned forward, "So you acted up because I was gone?" Amanda shook her head, "I was late because I didn't sleep well and I was working extra hours and Nick thinks he knows it all. Just punish me Liv, what is it going to be?" Olivia thought, "Did you ever stop to think that your lack of sleep caused all of this?" Amanda rolled her eyes, "Warning number 1 don't roll your eyes at me if you want to sit comfortably at your desk tomorrow."

Olivia stood up noticing the complete shock on her face, "Your punishment is pack a bag for a week and you will stay with me and get some sleep. Let's go!" Amanda looked at her, "So I have to come with you? What if I say no?" Olivia narrowed her eyes at her, "Well if you say no, then I will tear your ass up until you change your mind. So how are we doing this?" Amanda's eyes went wide, "I'll just go pack." Olivia giggled, "Good choice." Then Olivia did something that surprised both of them, she smacked Amanda right on the ass. "Owwww Liv."

They headed to Olivia's and took showers. Olivia was on the couch and Amanda came over. "Where do you want to sleep?" Amanda wanted to tell Olivia about the nightmares. Why she had them and how she felt about being around her. The truth was she hadn't slept well since she slept with her that night. Olivia made her feel safe. Oh and the slap on the ass, that sent something down her spine.

"Earth to Amanda, is something wrong?" Amanda was about to lie and Olivia told her not to lie, but she couldn't tell her. She wasn't ready, "I'm not ok and I'm telling you that because you said don't lie to you. I don't want to tell you what's wrong." Olivia pulled her on the couch and rubbed her back, she noticed she was tense, "You don't have to, but where do you want to sleep? Amanda sighed, "If I say your bed, that's weird, but I feel better there." Olivia understood what she meant, "It's not that weird, and it's fine. Come on."

Just like the last time, Amanda asked her to stay awake until she went to sleep. "I will. You sleep. I'm going to catch up on my email before work. Rest Amanda." Olivia checked her emails, it didn't take Amanda long to go to sleep. She looked tired and worn out. She slept through the night just fine. Olivia did find she wasn't exactly a morning person. They ate and headed to work, "Liv we can't walk in together it's weird." Olivia turned to her, "Amanda why are you so worried and why is everything weird. Chill out!"

The cases came left and right. They had to deal with a neighborhood's vigilante group taking on a rapist. Then a crazy doctor who was a sperm donor, tried to get revenge against his ex-girlfriend by kidnapping her daughter. Olivia and Amanda actually were sent to the sperm bank to pose as a couple. When Olivia held hands with Amanda, they both started to feel something. Olivia knew they would need to talk and soon. She actually wanted to speak to Cragen first.

The next case hit close to home, the day ended with Fin's son Ken running in the squad room crying and hugging him. "Hey man it's ok. What's wrong?" Ken explained the situation, "Alejandro dad, he's hurt and bad." Everyone in the squad listened, Fin looked at him, "Your boyfriend? What happened?" Ken looked at him, "He was beaten and sexually assaulted. And dad, he's my fiancé now." Fin was pulled away due to a family emergency.

Amanda was left to work with Liv on a completely different case about a teacher who ruined kids' lives. She was happy to work with Liv. That is until she met ADA Alexander Cabot. "Alex!" Olivia ran over hugging her tight. "Your back again, just can't stay away huh." Amanda didn't like that at all.

With Fin gone, all of them were left to bring Alex up to speed. "Detective Rollins, what did the student say?" Amanda rolled her eyes and Liv caught all of it. "It's in file, try reading it." Olivia was shocked, she hadn't seen Amanda like this ever, but Alex wasn't a push over, "Excuse me detective, is there a problem?" Amanda's phone rang, "Nope! Detective Rollins SVU how may help you?"

Alex turned to Nick and Olivia narrowed her eyes at Amanda. Amanda never looked at them and she stood up, "Munch can you help me. She gave him the note and they started out, but not before Liv caught her. "What was that in there?" Amanda shrugged, she was jealous and she lost all control forgetting and not caring about punishment. "I've got a case, so what do you need?" Olivia replied, "Nothing right now, we'll talk tonight."

Olivia and Nick finished with Alex and she saw that Cragen was free, "Hey can I talk to you?" He waved her in, "How's Fin, that's tough." Cragen said he would need more time, and even though the injuries were bad, Alejandro would make it. "Captain it's about Amanda." She had Cragen's full attention. "It's not what you think, but I feel like I need to tell you. We've been spending lots of time together. I…" Cragen smiled, "She likes you." Olivia looked up, "What?"

Cragen leaned forward, "You've noticed she likes right and not just looking up to you, something else." Olivia shook her head, "Captain I came to tell you, I think I have feelings for her. I don't know what it is yet or if it will be anything, but I didn't want you caught off guard." She explained that Amanda had been staying with her. She told him about her sleeping and nightmares.

"Captain what do you know about Atlanta? Could this be an assault?" They had a long discussion and Olivia explained she was not pushing and giving her time. "Olivia I trust you. You are my Sergeant and as long as you can keep a hold on her and it doesn't interfere with anything, I will allow it. I will let 1PP know and you two keep it professional, no transfers necessary. Olivia was glad to have that off her chest, now she just needed to deal with Amanda directly. She sent Amanda a simple text. Dinner at my place, 6:00.
