Chapter 8
THE FIRST MENTIONED IS STRANGE BEAUTY THEN IT WILL BE SEASON FINALE 13, RHODIUM NIGHTS. CHANGES ARE THROUGHOUT BECAUSE OLIVIA IS NOT WITH CASSIDY.
Olivia headed out for the night and went home. She jumped in the shower and changed, before starting dinner. She made salmon, rice, and steamed broccoli. She heard a knock on the door at 5:45. "I really should give you a key." Amanda's face was sad and Olivia couldn't resist, "Where's that smart ass mouth I heard earlier." She didn't say anything because she knew she was wrong.
They sat down to eat "What was the case you Munch went on?" Amanda pushed her food around like a kid in trouble. "A call about a girl screaming in the back of a taxi. Turns out she was estranged from her family, but wanted to come home. Warner called us only with a severed leg, it seems Munch remembered an old case similar. Anyway Fin, Munch, Nick, and Cragen are on it." Olivia looked up, "Fin's back?" Amanda shook her head. "Amanda not eating, won't get you out of trouble." She ate and took a shower while Olivia cleaned up the kitchen.
When she was done she went to find Olivia. "Liv are you going to talk to me?" She patted the couch thinking about what Cragen said. She didn't see Amanda having feelings for her. She never felt comfortable touching her or even sleeping in her bed. She wasn't sure, "What was that today?" Amanda needed to really talk to her. She thought about the feelings, they weren't going away but getting stronger. With all the thoughts going through head, Amanda finally blurted out, "Why did you hug her?" Olivia saw it in her face and heard it in her tone, "Alex is my friend. She's been my friend for years." She watched her closely, "Liv I don't know how to say this and I don't even know if I should say this. I feel things when I'm around you, things I've never felt."
Olivia was surprised, "What do you feel Amanda? Because I'm going to be completely honest, you don't talk about your feelings. You cover up a lot." Amanda was so confused and it was making her so frustrated, "I don't know Liv, maybe that's the problem. You care about me and no one has ever cared about me. That makes me have certain feelings that I've never felt." Amanda hung her head, "I didn't like seeing you hug Alex, because...Nevermind just punish me."
Olivia sighed, "See covering up your feelings. You would rather me punish you, then just say how you feel. Amanda that's not why I have punishments for you." Amanda refused to talk, so Liv decided to start first. "Ok Amanda I do care about you and working and spending time with you makes me have feelings too." Amanda's eyes shot up and looked right into her eyes, "I don't know where everything is going with us and I've only been in love a handful of times, but I feel different with you. I feel like I want to be with you and spend more time with you. When you leave and go home, I wish you didn't or I could go with you. I wish you would tell me everything that's wrong, so I can protect you. I wish you would let me hold through your nightmares. Those are my feelings right now. And I'm willing to lay my feelings all out, if it will help you talk to me."
Amanda was truly surprised, "I don't trust people Liv, but I trust you and that scares me. Liv I'm not refusing to talk I'm just confused. What is all this? I want to spend time with you and I want to tell you stuff, but Liv my life, it's messy. What if I mess up and you stop caring. I guess what I'm trying to say is, you would never want to be with someone like me." Olivia moved closer, "Amanda I get it, I'm figuring it out too. How about we work on figuring out together?"
Amanda finally smiled, "Hmmm, Amanda I definitely like you smiling. Unfortunately, you won't be smiling for long." Amanda looked confused, "Why?" Olivia looked, "Ummmm your behavior. Alex. Did you forget?" Amanda was brought back to reality quickly, "What are you going to do to me?" Olivia handed over her phone, "You are going to call her and apologize. You are also going to hope she accepts your apology, because if she doesn't, I'm spanking your ass. You have had chance after chance and it's time. Another thing, if we do this, be with each other, you need to know I'm going to be harder on you."
Amanda started dialing and stopped, "What do I say Liv?" Olivia just looked at her, "Amanda if you can come up with smart ass remarks and be disrespectful, you can figure what to say. Oh and put it on speaker." She continued dialing, "Olivia?" Amanda rolled her eyes and Liv popped her on the leg good." Amanda was rubbing her leg, "Hello." She was thinking she didn't want that same hit on her ass. "Oh it's Amanda Rollins. I borrowed Liv's phone to call you." Amanda didn't like her at all, "Detective Rollins, what can I do for you?"
Olivia sat there with her arms crossed, "I would like to apologize for my behavior today. It was uncalled for and totally not your fault. I was having a bad day and I…" she looked Olivia, "I like Olivia. I like her a lot and when I saw you hugging and being friendly, I got jealous." Amanda refused to look at Olivia at that point. "Thank you Amanda! I appreciate you and accept your apology. Olivia and I are just friends. We've been friends for a long time and you aren't the first person who has thought that we were more." Amanda looked at Olivia, who was smiling, "I really am sorry Ms. Cabot." Olivia was glad she explained, "Amanda please call me Alex. I wish you two the best, you make a cute couple. Bye." Amanda smiled, "Bye Alex."
Olivia stood up, grabbed her phone, and leaned down right in front of Amanda's face, "She saved your ass that time. I'm glad you like me, a lot, but I don't do jealousy. Got it?" Amanda couldn't talk, she felt hot and overwhelmed with Olivia being that close, "Ok Liv, I got it." Olivia smiled and gave Amanda the sweetest, softest kiss on the lips. "Good, I'm glad that's settled."
Amanda felt good, "Liv where do we go from here? I mean I've never done this before. I mean the elephant in the room, I've been with guys." Olivia knew they needed to take things slow and she was willing. "How about we take things slow. Work stays professional, we can't bring anything to work. Amanda, that has to be number 1. So what happened today can't happen ever again." She knew Liv was right about that and she would have to control herself. Outside of work, we spend time together and with the squad, we keep it normal."
Amanda was thinking and Olivia could tell by her face that she wanted to say something. "Amanda if we are going to do this, you have to talk to me. Amanda shook her head, "I was just thinking, I want us to stay the night together. I mean I'm not saying move in, it's way too early, but I feel better at night when I'm with you." Olivia pulled her close and held her and for once Amanda was completely relaxed, "I think that's perfect. Some nights we stay here and some nights we stay at your place."
Amanda pulled away, "You would stay at my little one bedroom, one bathroom apartment?" Olivia giggled, "Yeah! Why? You think I'm a snob or something? What are you saying?" Amanda cuddled next her, "I'm not saying anything bad, but your place is nicer. I feel safe with you Liv. Like you won't let anyone hurt me." Olivia rubbed her blonde hair, "I won't Amanda, but eventually it might help if I knew what or who I was protecting you from." Amanda held Olivia tighter, "I'm not ready, can you wait for me?" Olivia kissed her head, and reached for the remote, "Yes, I can wait, but you pick the movie." Olivia kissed her on the top of her head.
The next day at work, everyone was sent to a bachelor party gone wrong at a big time penthouse. They found a woman dead in the rooftop pool. Olivia looked at the girl, "She's so young." Amanda came in, "Well seems the guest list has a former Yankee and the Police commissioner's son. They are stuck in the elevator." The body was transferred to Warner, who told them "She didn't drown, looks like a homicide."
The case got worse when they found out the girl was a 16 year old runaway. Olivia was upset, when higher ups wanted to protect the guest list, "She was 16 and spent the entire night on her knees. You have to be kidding me." Cragen knew something had to be done.
Cragen was finally given the ok to talk to one of the guys. "You're looking for a girl named Carissa, but I don't know her last name." It took a few days of looking at the tape, but they found her. She explained she was an escort, "I'm paid to go to dinners and parties." Her lawyer chimed in, "Nothing illegal."
Nick walked in with someone familiar to Fin, Cragen, and Olivia. They all looked at each other until Cragen finally said, "Put him in interrogation now." Everyone was brought up to speed by Cragen, "His name is Brian Cassidy and he's NYPD, so go easy, but make it look good and legit. Don't blow his cover." Cassidy gives them as much information as he can, but tells them they need to work with his partner, who was brought in with him. "Guys, put me in Rikers." He turned leaning closer to Liv, "Do you miss me?" Olivia knew Amanda was watching through the glass. "Nope, let's go." Olivia roughed him up, slapping on the cuffs.
She walked him over, passing him to Nick. "Fin where's Amanda?" Fin smirked at Cassidy, "Bathroom I think. Liv can you believe it, Cassidy." Olivia shook her head and went looking for Amanda. "Hey, you ok?" Amanda looked at her, "Yeah, I'm just tired. You know him?" Olivia smiled and pulled her close, "We're at work, but yes. Amanda it was a long time ago and it was just sex ok. Besides, I'm kinda trying to get close to this cute badass blonde now." Olivia gave her a wink and whispered in her ear, "Get back to work."
The squad worked hard over the next couple of days, following sources and leads. Truth was the case was wrong from the start. It all seemed like a setup, especially after Cragen was threatened with blackmail photos. The case took every possible twist and turn, until it all went wrong.
Olivia was asleep holding Amanda in her arms when her phone went off, "Benson." Olivia sat straight up, "I'm on my way. Amanda, the Captain needs me. I've got to go. I'll explain at the squad." She kissed her and couldn't tell her what she really knew, "Go back to bed."
Olivia headed to Cragen's home. He woke confused and covered with blood. It turned out to be Carissa, the hooker. When Olivia got there he was being placed in cuffs, "Are you kidding me, this is set up. All of our investigation, it's clear as day. Captain we will help you." Olivia was not only in charge of the unit now, but of clearing her Captain.
