Hey guys! The next chapter is here! This chapter is going to be centered around your favorite couple, Maxerica! The castes are getting removed right now, they're starting.

"Okay, Officer Leger, you know that you're going on the report. You will be seated in a seat behind the King and Queen and will move up to the podium when Gavril calls", Silvia explained. Maxon and I were already seated.

"We're on in five", Ken yelled. I made it a point to get to know more staff in the palace since it's my home. Aspen got seated and Silvia went to the back where she usually sat.

"Ready, Aspen?", I asked.

"Yup, this is everything I've ever wanted." Maxon and I smiled at each other for a moment before the red lights flashed on.

"Good Evening Illéa!", Gavril boomed.

"Today we have a lot lined up for you. First, some announcements from the King of Illéa." Maxon walked up to the podium and kept Illéa up to date on the rebels. He looked used his pri-king face while talking about the rebels. I could tell that it was sad for him to tell the public, but he had to put the brave face on for them. He finally sat down next to me. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it, in an attempt to calm him down. He smiled back at me, but it wasn't genuine.

"Okay, next up, we have Officer Leger, who was drafted, but previously was a Six from Carolina", Gavril explained. Aspen walked up to the podium and started talking about his story.

"I'm Officer Leger. I have six siblings, from which I am the oldest, and my father died when I was younger. That would mean I would have to work to make ends meet. Sometimes even with myself and my mother working, we wouldn't have enough money for food or other necessities", Aspen started stiffly. He continued, talking about Jemmy, and how he merely stole an apple and got whipped 20 times. By the end of his story, we were in tears.

Before I knew it, the red lights flashed off and people were moving. Aspen was in tears and rushed out of the room. It didn't seem like him but I would do the same if it were May. I couldn't move.

"Are you ok, darling?", Maxon asked.

"I was there, Maxon, I was there. That afternoon where Jemmy got whipped in the town square. I was there. And I didn't do anything. People say I'm a fighter, that's why they like me. But is everything a lie? Am I just a wimp who tricked everyone, tricked you, and became Queen?" Maxon sighed and sat down.

"America, how could you ever think that? You literally proposed to eliminate the castes on the report, live too. Don't spend your time living in the past. All that matters is that Jemmy's ok now. He's perfectly fine, and I'm sure he's doing great." I looked into his eyes and embraced him.

"Thanks, I really needed that"

"I love you, my dear." I glared at him.

"Fine, I'll let it go this once."

... ... ... ...

Skip a few months. This is the biggest skip I'm going to make. I just wanted to make my own cute Maxerica moment. And Marlee had Kile already. Sorry for skipping, and it's also a week before Maxon's birthday. Remember, this is my fanfiction so I rewrote things.

"Can we have dinner tomorrow, Maxon", I asked while fluffing our pillows.

"No, I'm sorry, darling. I have meetings with advisors about various matters including the castes all day", he revealed. I crossed my arms.

"Seriously, it's been forever since we've had a day to ourselves", I whined.

"I can't do anything about that, America. I'm King, and I have duties", he yelled. I could see the shadow behind the doors stand up straighter since he heard Maxon yelling.

"But you're also my husband, and we've rarely had any time together", I said in a softened tone.

"This is the life you walked into, I didn't force you into it", he explained.

"I can't, I'm done. I can't do this right now." I turned around and left his room.

It was impossible to sleep without being curled up next to Maxon, but my stubbornness wouldn't let me go back and sleep in his room. After a few minutes, I realized it was hopeless and went down to the kitchens to see Marlee. She would still be awake. Walking through the halls of the kitchen, I found Marlee and Carter walking to their room.

"Carter", I called, grabbing their attention. They both turned around and looked at me.

"Can I borrow Marlee for a little bit?"

"Sure, America", he agreed. It took months to get Marlee and Carter to stop stressing about titles. It seemed unnecessary to drag Marlee all the way up to my room, so I led her to an empty storage room.

"What happened now, are you and Maxon in like your 20th fight of the week", she teased. I looked up at her and she instantly realized my feelings.

"I never get to spend time with him. He's everywhere but with me."

"Ames, I do recall you saying that Maxon's removing the castes for you."

"He is, isn't he?" The memory of the day where Maxon proposed in his bedroom passed my mind. What was I doing, Maxon was trying his best with me, he's the best husband ever. I've seen firsthand how hard that job can be, and now I'm adding to it. Oh my god, in my sadness, I led Marlee into a freezing storage room.

"Marlee, I'm so sorry, I led you into a freezing storage room and am telling you about my problems", I apologized. I shifted in my seat, this place is uncomfortable.

"It's ok Ames, I'm your lady-in-waiting after all. Don't worry about it." We exited the room and both went to go find our husbands. I rushed up the stairs, completely ignoring the fact that I was barefoot this entire time, and burst through my suite doors, and then through the connecting doors between mine and Maxon's room. He wasn't there. I proceeded to look everywhere. I wasn't going to sleep until I found My Maxon. I went to his office, his old room, my old room, the roof, and went back to the kitchens to see if he went to see Carter. He wasn't anywhere. By then, I got worried. Where are you, Maxon Shraeve. He couldn't have left the palace, could he?

I went back up to his room and exited onto the balcony. There was a swarm of guards standing in a large circle around each other. That's weird, the guards never leave their posts unless there's a rebel attack, or they're guarding someone! I rushed down all three sets of stairs to see Maxon alone sitting on our bench through a window. I must've really shaken him when I yelled. I ran as fast as I could, and into his arms.

"Maxon", I called, unable to catch my breath.

"I looked everywhere, I even went down to the kitchens to see if you were with Carter." He was super tense and had tears in his eyes. His hair was ruffled, and his suit coat was untucked.

I kissed him on his cheek and put an arm around his neck. He seemed to let go of some of his tension after that.

"What did you mean", he asked breaking the silence.

"What did I mean by what", I asked confused about his question.

"You said that you were done", he revealed, tears building up in his eyes. He stared into my eyes, looking for an answer.

"Oh Maxon, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that", I explained, laying down on his shoulder.

"I love you, and I always will."

"I love you too, Ames."

"And I'm sorry, this is the life I walked into. And I love it, I guess I just thought we could have more time together with the baby coming and all."

"I get it, and we should ma-", he started and his eyes went down to my stomach. I guess he expected me to be as big as the palace already

"You're pregnant?", he asked with an excited face on.

"I didn't mean for it to come out like that, I was going to tell you on your birthday", I explained

"Is it a boy or a girl", he asked.

"They don't know yet, but there's something. You're going to be a father!"

"And you're going to be a mother", he added, smiling like all was right with the world.

... ... ... ...

I thought of the last part at the end, so I sort of had to change it a little more. Hope you enjoyed it! Sorry if the timing is a bit wrong. I promise I'll get it straight one of these days!
