F.C chapter 2. Jan 30

Were there radios in the safe rooms?

-No, not originally. I wrote my fanfiction so there were, and the guards would know where everybody is.

... ... ... ...

America is about 2 1/2 months pregnant

A queasy feeling sat in the pit of my stomach. It was 5:30 in the morning, a delightful time to get morning sickness. I released myself from Maxon's embrace and ran into the bathroom, throwing up into the toilet.

"Darling, are you ok?", Maxon asked, sleepiness dripping from his voice.

"Yeah, go back to sleep, it's just morning sickness. I can handle it!", I replied, throwing up once more. Of course, Maxon being the husband he is, walked right out of the bed and into the bathroom.

"Nope, not happening, you know I could never sleep with you throwing up in the room next to me", he said grabbing my shoulders. We stayed in the bathroom until 6:15. When it was hard to walk because of my swelled up feet, Maxon carried me. When I was throwing up in the morning, he helped me. What more could I ask for?

We headed down for breakfast early because we couldn't sleep. I slumped into my seat as a maid instantly brought breakfast down for Maxon and asked what I would like. She was the only person who knew about my pregnancy other than Maxon and a few doctors. We had to tell her, how else would I explain all my food cravings?

"Your Majesty, what would you like?"

"Today, I'm craving an omelet with syrup, Marjorie", I answered. Marjorie scurried down towards the kitchens, to get my much-needed breakfast.

"I will never get your food cravings", Maxon said, picking up his knife and fork to eat his pancakes. His lips were pressed together, holding in laughter.

"And I will never get why you would eat something so plain when you have so many other things to eat", I shot back, in a playful tone. I shifted in my seat so I could turn to face Maxon

"Darling, you realize that you would be eating exactly what I'm eating if it wasn't for your pregnancy", he said, looking up at me.

"Who knows", I asked rhetorically, straightening up in my seat. Marjorie brought me my food, and I started eating it.

"This is good, you should try it sometime", I told Maxon, savoring over every last bite knowing that I wouldn't like it after I had the baby. We headed back to our room to get ready for an ultrasound.

"You think I'm starting to show, Maxon", I asked, really curious about how it looks like.

"Just a little, people could mistake it for weight gain", he replied

"Yeah, but we need to tell the public soon, it's not just going to be a little bit in a few weeks", I joked. Maxon ran up to me from behind and grabbed my waist so lightly, it was like he thought I was going to break. I gave him a quick kiss and we headed to the hospital wing.

"Good Morning Your Majesties, how are you, Queen America", the doctor greeted

"I'm good, Dr. Mitchum", I answered, walking up to the hospital bed. Maxon and I decided that we wanted to have a party and pop a to determine the gender and wanted to know nothing at all at the ultrasound appointment. We discussed this with Dr. Mitchum earlier, so he knew.

"Now this gel is going to feel a little cold when a put it on your stomach", he explained. I just nodded. He put the gel and machinery on my stomach and circled it around so he could get a full scan. A surprised look flashed on his face before it vanished.

"Ok, your Majesty, you have nothing to worry about. I'll send the genders to the company so they can give you a balloon." Genders, plural? He probably just said that by mistake.

Maxon and I started walking back before we had to part ways.

"I wanna tell Marlee, Carter, Lucy, Aspen, Mary, and my family of course before we announce it to the public", I told Maxon.

"Sure, I mean they are closer to you Ames, whatever you want", he replied, turning to face me. We parted ways as he headed to the meeting room, and me to the Woman's room.

... ... ... ...

The people who America wanted to tell came to the palace if they weren't already there. America also invited them to an informal gathering in the gardens.

My family came first, eager to know what was happening. May ran towards me, enveloping me into a hug, unaware of my stomach. She hugged Maxon afterward, as I proceeded to get a bear hug from the rest of my family. They sat under a big tent we had set up to keep the harsh rays of the afternoon sunlight from glaring into our faces. Maxon and I sat in the front next to May as Kenna, James, Astra, Gerad, and Mom sat in front of us. We caught up on each other's lives, and boy-crazy May talked to me about her new crush. Oh , May! Kenna was 8 months pregnant and she was expecting a baby soon.

Marlee and Carter soon came, followed by Aspen and Lucy. They all sat down, looking relaxed and happy. We all finally had an afternoon to ourselves, and we laughed and talked, waiting for Mary to come. Mary was on duty until 2, so she missed lunch.

"Ames, what did you want to tell us", Gerad asked curiously. I opened my mouth to tell everybody as Kenna interrupted.

"My water broke", she yelled.
