So, I also have an original story on Wattpad called More. My username on there is WR_Queen. It only has 2 chapters because I've been updating this more. Some of my favorite fanfictions on Wattpad are A million mistakes and all the other fanfics on there by Hhhhhh05
Remember, I DO NOT OWN THE SELECTION TRILOGY OR THE HEIR TRILOGY!

Continuation:
I read through the rest of the opinions and studied the magazine a bit more. The opinions of the women were happy and ecstatic. The views of the men were annoyed or mad. Very few men had supported the decision, and those were the people of the lower caste. They knew what it was like to be a minority.
I frowned at the magazine. People weren't going to see that a woman could help the country and be the heir to the throne unless she helps them in a great way.
"Darling, what's wrong", Maxon asked, eyebrows furrowed.
"The opinions from the citizens of Illéa are biased by gender", I explained, not looking up from my magazine.
"What, about the pregnancy?"
"No, silly. It's about eradicating the gender rule to the throne", I said peering up into his eyes.
His eyes widened and his eyebrows shot up.
"That's crazy, America. We should make an announcement on the Report next week and try to justify why to the citizens. Hopefully, they'll understand"
"I don't think that's gonna work. Even if it does, it will to the lower castes. Plus, most opinions are based on the news company. If the head of the company supports it, they'll interview women. If they don't, they'll interview men", I started
"But-". I interrupted, continuing, " Also, even if the people interviewed agree, it's their choice whether or not to publish their interview. The whole system is corrupt, Maxon."
Marlee and Carter walked in, silencing Maxon and me.
"Ames, you should really stop arguing. You can get have a premature or lightweight baby if you're too stressed." My face turned red, I hadn't known that they heard.
"It's true, that fact was in every single one of the pregnancy books I read", Carter supported, pulling back his chair and sitting in his seat. I ignored them and continued eating. After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence, Maxon started talking, and then everyone started talking.
"Wait, wait, stop talking", I said in a low voice.
"Do you smell that? Strawberry tarts, they're in the kitchens."
"Nonsense, America, how could you ever smell that", Marlee chastised.
"Fine, I'll prove it, all of you, come with me to the kitchens", I challenged. Marlee and I shot up from our seats, and Maxon and Carter following behind, rolling their eyes at our antics.
"If you guys roll your eyes that much, they'll fall off", Marlee mock scolded. I giggled and we continued walking down to the kitchens. When we got there, everyone stopped and looked at us.
"Do you happen to be making strawberry tarts", I questioned the kitchen staff, glaring at Marlee.
"Yes, your majesty, we just finished a batch for dessert in the evening", a small voice replied.
"Thanks, you may get back to work", I replied queenlike, but side-glaring Marlee. After everyone went back to work Marlee asked me, "The usual?"
Marlee and I bet on things usually so we made up a thing that the loser has to do. The loser had to find the first person they run into and say that the winner is the smartest, coolest, most prettiest person in the world. Turns out that the first person was Aspen.
"America Singer Schraeve is the smartest, coolest, most prettiest person in the world", Marlee said quietly to Aspen.
"Wow, Mer. You and Marlee bet again", Aspen said shaking his head and walking away. I flung my hand around Marlee and we began walking out into the gardens for the gender reveal.
"Jeez, Ames. You're practically jumping", Marlee observed.
"Well, wouldn't you be?", I shot back, smiling at her. I grabbed a strawberry tart from the table behind me in the gardens and started biting it.
"I'm finding out the gender of my baby today!"
"Darling, we just finished breakfast, how do you have the appetite to eat more?", Maxon asked shaking his head.
"For the millionth time, I'm eating for 2. And the second person happens to be your baby. You're lucky you don't have to deal with all this", I said in a mock irritated voice gesturing to my stomach. Marlee and Carter exchanged knowing glances.
"What are you 2 hiding?", getting up from my chair and circling around Marlee and Carter.
"Do you really want to know?", Marlee asked biting her lip. Before I could answer, Marlee started explaining.
"Ok, fine. You guys are having twins. Not just one baby. You guys were so adamant about not having the doctor tell you anything about the baby, so instead, he told me to tell you. You know cause I'm your lady-in-waiting. And then I told Carter because I'm a blabbermouth." Marlee explained so fast but my mind stopped working after she said, twins.
"Oh my god, Maxon. We're having twins", I said excitedly while jumping into his arms.
"Yes we are", he said while snaking his hands around my waist.
"The balloons have arrived your majesty", a butler said wheeling in 2 boxes with balloons in them. Before we knew it, the guests started arriving too. We decided to invite just friends and no businesspeople because this was being televised already. Nicoletta came out first and embraced me. Daphne came out next and mouthed 'talk afterward?' She seemed to have asked nicely so I nodded back. Soon enough, the garden was filled up with the friendly chatter of my family and friends.
Kota was also invited to the palace. I decided to be the bigger person and invite him. He was already not moved up to being a One because of family issues. I might as well have let him come. After a little while, we decided to start popping the balloons. Maxon and I each picked up needles and held a balloon up.
"3, 2, 1, pop", he exclaimed and we both popped out gigantic balloons.

Thanks for reading! Please follow and favorite both me and my fanfic! Also, please comment. If it's not feedback on my fanfic, at least comment on the would you rather. I need more proof that people read and like my story other than a couple of numbers.
