Chapter 19-Last chapter

Olivia and Fin arrived at the Atlanta police department, upon coming face to face with Reynolds, Olivia was cold. Once they had everything they needed Olivia spoke her mind, "So what kind of department are you running here. 3 matching MO's, but you didn't test any kits." Reynolds didn't deserve to be a Captain, "Chief Patton, this is Detective Tutuola and Sergeant Benson."

He was smug and Olivia wanted to kick him in the nuts. "How's Amanda making out in New York? I called to tell her how disappointed I was I wouldn't get a chance to see her." Olivia smiled, "Well she's pregnant with our child. She's my wife and she has told everything that has happened here." Fin didn't know what was going on, but Olivia took pride in watching their faces and mouths drop. Did you two know that she kept the clothes from that night because changing someone really doesn't do the trick. She also had her own kit done. The scratches, the bruises, and everything was recorded. So to answer your question she never has any intention of ever seeing the two of you again, unless you would like to be in a fucking courtroom and then your smug dumb asses behind bars."

On the plane ride back, Fin asked, "I can read between the lines Liv, so I won't ask, but damn girl you shut those smug bastards up. I will never ask her or repeat what I heard. She needed you Liv." Olivia never spoke a word to Amanda about anything. They caught the rapist, and Olivia caught everyone's attention and her final report to CompStat won plenty of fans. Olivia was going to be promoted to Lieutenant.

Months passed, Olivia and Amanda welcomed a baby girl in late August. She was a little premature, but healthy. They named her Jesse Olivia Rollins Benson. They had a happy family a newborn and Noah would soon be turning 1. They were already looking at the paperwork for adoption. In a matter of months it would be an option for Noah Porter Rollins Benson. They couldn't wait, but Melinda showed up at their doorstep and dropped a bomb on them all.

Olivia opened the door and saw Melinda looking sick and holding a file. "Melinda come on in. What's the matter? You look upset." Melinda sat down, I came here to keep this off the books. What's the legal status of your relationship with Noah?" Olivia looked at Amanda holding Jesse, "We are going to adopt him, the Judge gave us a year. The paperwork will be ready. What's going on Melinda?" Melinda sighed, "There was a hit on Johnny Drake's DNA when it went through the system. It was a familial match and it's not discoverable. No one needs to know." Amanda was confused, "Know what Melinda?" Melinda handed them the file, "Johnny D is Noah's father."

After talking Olivia and Amanda told Barba, they were listing Johnny Drake on the paperwork. He warned them not to, "Don't do this. Johnny D is a psychopath." They didn't like the idea of lying and they thought the case was strong enough. The whole squad was put on notice and they would do what they needed to bring him down.

All the work and months led up to the final day. Sex trafficked girls testified. One after another about the abuse and the pain they went through. It was a miracle they were still alive. Although the girls proved that many young girls weren't anymore and all at the hands of one Johnny Drake.

Everyone in the squad sat in the courtroom, minus Amanda who was still on leave. Ariel was the final nail in Johnny D's coffin when she testified. She had been prepped by Olivia and Barba. She was their best witness. During her testimony several women stand up one after one yelling, "Liar!" When the guard moved forward to stop the outburst, Johnny D flipped the table and grabbed her and her weapon. He backed out of the door and Nick followed. Olivia yelled, "Nick don't!" All they heard in the courtroom was shots ringing out.

When they exited the courtroom, Johnny D and the court officer were both dead. Nick was injured badly and taken to the hospital. Olivia phoned Amanda to tell her what happened. "Baby I'm ok, but Nick…" Olivia started to cry. Amanda told her, "Lucy can watch the kids, I'm on the way Liv. And Liv I love you." Amanda told Lucy what happened and headed to meet her squad.

Nick was in emergency surgery. A bullet hit his liver and they were working on his knee. Carisi spoke up, "The liver can heal itself, but a bullet to the knee." Amanda was upset, "Oh Carisi please, we know shut up." Nick made it out of surgery, but he would need rehab for the knee injury.

Three months later brought nothing but happiness. Today was a celebration! Amanda and Olivia were finally and officially adding Noah to their family. He was finally their own. Nick arrived a little late still on crutches, "Congratulations Liv and Amanda! I'm so happy for you." He asked to speak to Olivia alone. "Liv I want to thank you for putting your own career on the line for me. With all of my trouble, I'm not going anywhere in the department. I've decided to retire Liv." Olivia was shocked, "Nick! Are you sure?" Nick smiled, "Liv, both of my kids are in California now. I'm young and I can start over after I heal. I'm absolutely sure. Not to ruin Noah's moment but can we tell them?"

They both joined the rest of the squad and Nick explained what he wanted to do. Everyone was crying and Fin said, "Well whatever happens Nick Amaro, friends for life." They all agree, "Friends for life." Everyone takes turns hugging him.

Olivia was holding Noah and Amanda was coddling Jesse. Fin and Melinda were arm and arm. Barba, Carisi, and Lucy stood there smiling. Fin said, "A toast!" Everyone raised the glass, "To family and they all repeated.

As the last guest left. They settled in for the night. "Lucy we've got it tonight. Thank you for being a part of our family." She smiled and said goodnight. They gave their babies a soothing bath and put them down in their beds. Olivia and Amanda stood in the hall near their rooms after checking on them and grabbing the monitors. Amanda stopped Liv, "What did I do to deserve your love and attention?" Olivia smiled, "You were just you baby." Amanda hugged her, "Thank you for saving my life Olivia Benson.
