Chapter 9

Haley's been awake a few days now and she couldn't believe she was starting to get her family back Nathan and Angel had spent so much time with her and she was finally getting to know her daughter. The doctor said she could go home today as long as she was well rested she didn't want to go back to her house and be by herself Nathan had practice this morning so she had a lot of time to think about what she was going to do.

"Hi Hales" Nathan said as he sat down next to her on the bed.

"Hi Nathan how was practice" Haley asked he looked so tired he could do with some rest.

"It was good we have a really good chance of winning state this year. I just spoke to your doctor and he said you can go home so I was thinking you can come and stay with me and Angel we only have a two bedroom it's nothing fancy, I want to take care of you please say you will" Nathan asked hoping she'd say yes.

"I would love to, but I'll need to go to my house and get some clothes we can go there now" Haley smiled she'd never felt this happy in such a long time she didn't know what this meant they hadn't really discussed things yes they were still married but they'd been apart fifteen years and over the last few days they'd kissed a few times but were they dating she was so confused by it all.

"We can do that Hales" Nathan smiled as he held her in his arms he never wanted to be away from her again he finally had everything he's ever wanted.

After the doctor gave Nathan all the instructions on how to take care of her and the phone number if anything happened they headed to Haley's house.

"Wow Hales this place is massive" Nathan said shocked he never expected this.

"Amanda picked it while I was in LA, its way to big for me" Haley said as he helped her out of the car.

"Hales you sit here while I pack you something's, where's your bedroom" Nathan asked as he laid her down on the couch.

"It's upstairs last room on the left" Haley said as he kissed her on the forehead and exited the room.

Nathan couldn't believe the house Haley lived in, he never spoke to her about her job but he assumed she was in a good job to afford a place like this he felt embarrassed now how was he going to show her his small two bedroom house if she was used to living in places like this. He found her room and couldn't believe she had their wedding picture and a photo of Angel when she was first born by her bed it made him smile he knew now she missed them just as much as they missed her.

After sitting there reading a book for about ten minutes Nathan came back into the room with a small bag of some clothes for Haley to wear. "I'm going to make us a drink and then we can talk" Nathan said as he placed the bag down they couldn't leave right away she's just come out of hospital and she needed her rest and it was time he spoke to her about her life away from him all these years.

As he made his way to the kitchen area he couldn't believe the size of everything and then he smiled as he saw a basketball court in the garden, he knew Haley couldn't play basketball he remembered trying to teach her growing up she preferred to just watch him play. There was elements of this house he knew she bought with him in mind like she knew they would be together again one day.

"Thanks Nathan" Haley said as he handed her a cup of hot chocolate with little marshmallows on top her favourite drink.

"You're welcome, so I see you got a basketball court in the yard" Nathan smiled as he sat next to her on the couch.

"Yes I do, when Amanda asked what type of house I wanted I suggested a basketball court, because I was hoping you would let me in yours and Angels life again and I knew Angel would love basketball just as much as you and you could play together if you wanted to" Haley started to ramble on, as much as she thought the house was too big, Mandy really did pick out the best house for her.

"You're so cute you know that" Nathan smiled as he kissed her he'd been wanting to do that all day.

"So what did you want to talk about" Haley asked a few moments later knowing they had a lot to discuss.

"I know we haven't really spoken about your life away from Tree Hill and you must be very successful to afford a house like this, and I'm only a high school basketball couch" Nathan said as he felt embarrassed he was just a regular guy nothing special.

"I love you Nathan I always have, I can see you are an amazing father and I bet you're the best couch I know how much you love basketball. It doesn't matter to me Nathan how much money you have, all I've wanted all these years is to be with you and Angel this is all materialistic as long as I have you and our daughter that's all that matters not money" Haley said not wanting him to feel like he's a failure because he's not he's the best man she's ever known.

"Thanks Hales, so what is it you do" Nathan asked as he held her in his arms he was feeling a lot better now Haley was right he did have a good life made even better now that he had his wife back.

"I'm a record producer and I own Halo records, I just bought Tric so I'll be working in Tree Hill now and I have a recording studio here as well. Mandy will be running the place for a while I needed a break and I need my family back" Haley said she's worked hard to get where she is but she'd trade it all to have been with her family all these years.

"Wow that's amazing Hales, I know Angel's going to love coming here she loves music" Nathan said knowing how music means to them both he loved that Angel took after her mom in so many ways.

"Speaking of Angel won't she be heading home soon maybe we should go so she knows I'm out of the hospital" Haley said not wanting her daughter to worry if she heads to the hospital.

"Good idea Hales" Nathan smiled as he picked her up from the couch not wanting her to hurt herself by walking even if she did have a special boot on her leg.

"Hi dad, mom you're out of the hospital" Angel said as her dad parked the car.

"Yeah I got out a couple of hours ago, your dad said it's ok to stay here so he can look after me until I get better" Haley said hoping Angel would be ok with it.

"Hales your rambling again" Nathan laughed she'd been doing it a lot today, "Angel grab your mom's bag while I carry her inside."

Nathan carried Haley and laid her down on his bed she needed rest it's been a long day and he didn't want her to end up back in hospital.

"Thanks for helping me Nathan" Haley smiled she still couldn't believe she was with him again after all these years.

"You get some rest I'm going to make us some food" Nathan smiled as he kissed her on her forehead and headed downstairs.
