Chapter 11

It's been a few days now since Angel asked if she could go on the summer strip to Spain and Nathan didn't know how to tell her he didn't have the money right now there was just no way not with all the debts, he had to pay. Nathan was going to speak to Skills dad about working construction part time to help with the bills being a coach wasn't bringing in enough money even though Angels health has been ok for a couple of years now he was still paying off years of hospital bills and he hated going to anyone for help.

"Hi Dad, have you spoke to mom about Spain" Angel asked as she sat down in the lounge.

"I'm sorry Angel, I haven't got the money right now, you can go next year" Nathan sighed he felt so bad like he was failing as a father.

"Dad mom can pay for it she's home now she can help" Angel suggested it's not like her mom didn't have the money.

"No, we're not telling your mom anything, she doesn't need to know and I am not asking her please drop it" Nathan said there was just no way he was asking Haley.

"This is bullshit, why are you so stubborn, mom can help" Angel yelled this wasn't fair she really wanted to go she's worked hard all year.

"Angel enough, go to your room I'm not going to have you talking to me like that" Nathan yelled as she stormed upstairs.

"Nathan what's going on" Haley asked as she saw they yelling at each other.

"It's nothing" Nathan sighed hoping she didn't hear the full conversation.

"It didn't sound like nothing, what aren't you telling me Nathan and why do you need my help" Haley asked she was so confused with what Angel said.

"I don't need your help Haley just leave it" Nathan yelled as he got up to leave.

"Nathan talk to me, what is wrong and why are you angry at me" Haley asked this was so unlike him he was always able to talk to her.

"Haley, I don't need your help I've done fine all these years without you so just leave it" Nathan yelled as left the room he couldn't look at her not after what he just said he knew he'd hurt her by his words but he couldn't take them back.

Haley has never felt so hurt she couldn't believe what he just said her heart broke into a million pieces, she thought things were good between them again and now she felt like they were back to the way things were when she first came back.

"Mom what are you doing" Angel asked as she saw her mom packing some bags.

"It's clear your dad doesn't want me here, I'm going to move back into my house" Haley cried the last thing she wanted was to leave but she couldn't stay not with the way Nathan was acting.

"Mom don't go, he didn't mean it" Angel said as she tried to stop her mom from leaving.

"Angel I'm not leaving Tree Hill I promise I never want to be away from you ever again, but Nathan's shutting me out I don't know what to do" Haley cried as she sat down on the bed.

"Mom, Dad's in a lot of debt, that's what we were arguing about I wanted to go to Spain during the summer on the school trip and dad said I can't because he has to many bills" Angel said she didn't care if her dad told her off she needed to tell her mom what's going on.

"Wow, how bad is it" Haley asked it was starting to make sense now.

"I don't know, but it's bad we may lose the house" Angel said as she sat next to her mom on the bed.

"It's going to be ok, I'll take care of it" Haley said as she got up she knew what she had to do she just hoped Nathan excepted it.

Nathan watched Haley leave he couldn't say anything, what could he say after the way he spoke to her before he couldn't blame her for leaving. As he went to leave to clear his head he noticed a check on the side table by the door he knew then Angel told her mom what was happening but he couldn't take Haley's money.

"Dad what's that" Angel asked as she saw her dad holding something by the front door.

"Your mom left it it's a check for a hundred grand" Nathan said as he placed it back down.

"That's awesome no you can pay of all the bills" Angel smiled she was happy knowing her dad wouldn't need to worry anymore.

"I'm not using it, I'm not taking money from your mom, I'm going back to work construction everything will be ok" Nathan said there was just no way he was using it.

"Dad stop being so stubborn my hospital bills are just as mom's responsibility as well as yours let her help" Angel said she couldn't believe he wouldn't except it.

"You just don't get it, you're my daughter I want to take care of you, I can pay these bills off I don't need any help" Nathan sighed feeling even more like a failure it was his responsibility to look after his family.

"Dad, mom's back now and if you don't want to take mom's money use it to pay off all the bills and then sell our house and move into mom's place I know mom will want us too" Angel suggested hoping they could she loved the house she grew up in but it was too small for the three of them.

"I don't think she will after the way I spoke to her, I didn't mean to yell at her" Nathan sighed he never meant for any of this to happen.

"Mom will, she loves you dad" Angel said as she hugged her dad.

"Ok I'll go and speak to your mom and hopefully she doesn't slam the door in my face" Nathan said as he left to go and speak to Haley.

Haley's been sitting in her lounge for the last hour she still couldn't believe how things went at Nathan's she regretted leaving now she couldn't keep running from him. She loved him so much it hurt that he would let her in and tell her he was having trouble she hoped the money she left would be enough to cover the debt, because she knew he would never ask for me or even he would use the money. He was such a man, not willing to let anyone help he was always like this, he wouldn't even let her work when she was pregnant with Angel all those years ago.

"Hi Hales" Nathan said as he let himself in he felt even worse seeing her so upset.

"Nathan what, what are you doing here" Haley asked not expecting him to be standing there.

"I'm sorry Haley, I'm so sorry for the way I spoke to you earlier. I never meant what I said" Nathan said as he approached her.

"It's ok Nathan, I know this is hard for you me being back and maybe we moved things to fast, but I want you to know, I love you Nathan and I'm back now, I can help you with things. I want to be there for both of you. I have the money Nathan I can help so please don't give it back to me because I don't want it" Haley cried hoping he'd let her in.

"I'm not going to give you it back, but I will pay you back every penny. I spoke to Angel and she suggested we move in here and I sell the house with the money I get for the house I can pay you back. You're wrong Haley we haven't moved to fast all I've wanted all these years is to have you back and I'm sorry I made you feel like you're not part of our lives because you always have been. I want to be with you more than anything in the world I want you to be my wife again please don't ever leave me, I know sometimes I can be an idiot but sometimes it's hard for me to admit when I'm wrong" Nathan said as he held her in his arms.

"I love you too Nathan, I would love you both to move in, I always hoped you would. I don't want the money back Nathan but I know how stubborn you can be so when you sell the house you can put the money in a trust fund for Angel and she can use it for college" Haley suggested hoping he'd say yes.

"Ok I guess we can do that, so am I forgiven" Nathan asked as they sat down on the couch.

"I guess so, it's hard to stay mad at you, you're so cute" Haley smiled as she kissed him.
