Chapter 12
It's been a few days now since Nathan and Angel moved into Haley's house and Angel loved her new room her dad had helped her decorate Haley still couldn't stand for long periods with her leg but things were going good with Haley and Nathan and Angel had never seen her dad so happy this was what she dreamed of all these years.
"So Angel your dad and I have been talking and you can go to Spain for the school trip" Haley said as she handed Angel a check to give the school.
"This is so awesome, thanks mom where is Dad" Angel asked noticing her dad wasn't there.
"He's gone to get us take away, he didn't want me cooking even though I told him my legs fine now" Haley said she was having the boot taken off in a couple of days and she felt fine.
"Cool so what you watching" Angel said as she sat next to her mom on the couch.
"Nothing much, so how's school" Haley asked as she turned the TV off.
"It's good I'm going to be playing for the school basketball team next year Uncle Lucas is going to be my coach" Angel smiled she couldn't wait she's been waiting for this.
"That's awesome, how's your lessons your dad said your top of your class" Haley smiled she was happy her daughter was like her and Nathan she was a perfect blend of them both.
"Yeah I'm really smart which helps so I don't need to stress if I need to miss classes. I couldn't imagine dropping out of school" Angel said wondering how she finished high school.
"I didn't drop out of school I finished early, I was sixteen when I gave birth to you and thankfully I was in advance classes in most subjects so I graduated just before you were born" Haley said not wanting her daughter to think she didn't graduate.
"Really, so you had already graduated before you left, I just assumed because dad graduated when I was about a year old there's pictures of me at his graduation" Angel said she's never asked her dad not wanting to hurt him by bringing up Haley's name.
"Yeah, you dad was very protective of me and after I had bad stomach pains when I was about five months pregnant your dad spoke to principle turner and he agreed I could graduate early I was the youngest person to graduate at Tree Hill" Haley smiled she was proud of what she accomplished.
"I still can't believe Nan let you marry at sixteen she must have been crazy" Angel said she couldn't imagine getting married so young.
"Karen knew how much we loved each other, I knew your dad was the one for me, I knew I would love him for the rest of my life and I was right I love him just as much now. Leaving without you both these last fifteen years has been hell for me. I'm nearly 32 years old which is when most people settle down and have a family and I know I haven't been in your life for so long I wish I could go back and change that. I never regret marrying you father or having you so young, and I know if the bad things hadn't have happened I'd feel the same way this was the way my life was supposed to go to be your mama and your daddy's wife" Haley smiled at her daughter there was no doubt it her mind she might the right choice all those years ago.
"I love you mama and I don't blame you for leaving, I'm so happy your back. So how did dad handle it when you told him you were pregnant with me" Angel asked they were so young it must have been a shock.
"We'd only been married a few weeks and I kept getting sick so your aunt Brook insisted I go to the doctors and they told me I was pregnant I couldn't believe it, I was so scared to tell your dad he had dreams of going to the NBA not have a baby at sixteen. I knew I wanted you and even though the timing wasn't right I'd never been so happy to know there our love had created a baby. When I got home I told your dad while he was making me Mac and Cheese he was worried about me because of the sickness and I'd never seen him so happy he scooped me up in his arms and told me everything would be perfect and not to worry. I knew then that everything would be ok. The day you were born was one of the best days of my life your dad was so happy he couldn't put you down he was showing you off to everyone. I only got to spend three months being your mama and that was the best time of my life and I dreamed of the day I would be your mama again and finally it's here" Haley smiled as she hugged her daughter.
"Diners here" Nathan said as he walked in with the pizza's. "What's wrong" he asked when he saw them both crying.
"Oh nothing we were just talking and it got a bit emotional" Haley said as Nathan sat between them on the couch.
"Dad did you get me pepperoni" Angel asked as she opened the box of pizza's.
"I did and I got your favourite to Hales" Nathan said hoping ham and mushroom was still her favourite.
"Thanks Nathan I'm so hungry" Haley said as she grabbed a slice of pizza.
"You're welcome, so did your mom tell you about Spain" Nathan asked knowing how happy she'll be now that she gets to go.
"Yeah mom gave me the check and I'm going to do some more shifts at Nan's cafe for some more spending money, I'm going to take my pizza up stairs I'm going to ring Lilly and tell her I can go" Angel said as she grabbed a box of pizza.
"So what do you want to do" Nathan asked as he took a slice of pizza.
"How about we watch a movie" Haley asked as she turned the TV on it's been a long day and all she wanted to do was lay in Nathan's arms.
"Sounds perfect" Nathan said as she snuggled into him this is how life should be with his wife in his arms.
