Chapter 13

Nathan and Haley were laying on the couch in each other's arms watching a movie it's been a long day and Nathan noticed Haley had fallen asleep so he just laid there watching her sleep. She looked so peaceful Nathan knew there was no place else he'd rather be than in this moment. He hated that they wasted so long being apart he should have gone looking for her then they wouldn't have been apart all these years, he never thought he could hate Dan more than he did, but to find out he threatened his wife and he was the reason she left all this years he's never felt such hatred for someone and if Dan wasn't already dead he didn't know how he'd react. Dan was going to rot in hell for the things he'd done to his family.

"Hi dad" Angel said as she came into the lounge.

"Hi princess what you doing up" Nathan whispered not wanting to wake Haley.

"I couldn't sleep I'm just going to get something to drink" Angel said hoping that would help.

"Angel one sec I've been thinking how would you feel if I asked your mom to marry me again" Nathan whispered so Haley wouldn't be able to hear what they were talking about.

"Oh my god" Angel gasped as she covered her mouth with her hand, "sorry, dad that's awesome" Angel smiled she would love to see her parents get married.

"Can you help me and take your mom's ring and tomorrow when we come back from the hospital I'll plan something" Nathan whispered he wanted everything to be perfect.

"Don't worry dad I'll asked Lilly to help, well I'm going to bed goodnight" Angel said she was so happy for her parents and she couldn't wait to see them get married.

"Goodnight princess" Nathan smiled he just hoped things went as planned now all he had to do was carry his wife upstairs and hope he doesn't wake her he knew how tired she was and with the hospital in the morning they had a busy day ahead.

When Angel woke up she knew what she had to do so she crept into her parents room hoping she didn't wake her mom, she was always an early riser so it wasn't hard waking up at the crack of dawn. As Angel started taking the ring of her mom Haley started to move, her heart nearly leapt into her mouth she was going to get caught and her mom was going to be so confused. So as quickly as she could she took the ring off and placed her mom's arm on her dad and tiptoed out of the room as fast as she could. She never wanted to go through that again it felt like she aged ten years. she quickly left the house and headed to Karen's to get Lilly's help.

When Haley woke up she noticed her ring was gone she couldn't believe it she was wearing it when she fell asleep none of this was making any sense.

"Haley what are you doing" Nathan asked as he noticed Haley looking for something under the bed.

"Huh, oh I, I lost something I'm just looking for something" Haley stumbled she couldn't tell him she lost her ring he would be so hurt and this has never happened before she never took her ring off let alone lose it.

"Ok, do you want some help, what have you lost" Nathan asked as he got up from the bed.

"It's nothing, I'll look for it later, I'm just going to get ready we have to be at the hospital soon" Haley said as she headed to the bathroom what was she going to do she's lost her ring maybe it at Tric in the studio it may have fallen off..

"Ok I'm just going to go downstairs and make us some breakfast" Nathan said as he got up she was acting weird.

As Nathan went downstairs he noticed a not on the side left by Angel hi dad I got the thing you asked for meet me at Karen's after you've been to the hospital later dad good luck. Nathan laughed knowing now why Haley was acting so weird.

After getting ready Haley started looking for her ring again and she still couldn't find it. "Hales breakfast's ready" Nathan yelled up the stairs breaking her out of thought.

"Are you cold" Nathan asked as Haley came down dressed like it was winter.

"Yeah I woke up with a chill I should be fine soon" Haley said as she sat down she couldn't think of anything else to wear to cover the fact she's lost her ring and she couldn't just wear gloves he would have found that weird.

"Are you sure you're ok, maybe you should tell the Dr" Nathan said not wanting he to be ill.

"I'll be fine probably a 24 hour thing, thanks for making me breakfast" Haley said as she started eating.

"You're welcome I'm just going to go and get ready then we can leave" Nathan said as he got up to leave.

Haley didn't know what she'd do if she doesn't find her ring she never took it off none of this was making any sense she's never lost her ring it fit perfectly on her finger she's never felt so confused and she couldn't even ask anyone for help she just really hopes she finds it before someone else does.

"So will you help me" Angel asked as she told Lilly everything that happened.

"Of course this is so cool, you must be so happy. We need Brooke's help she'll know what to do" Lilly suggested knowing they couldn't do it alone.

"Ok but we only have until 2, dad's going to be taking mom to Nan's cafe so we have to hurry" Angel said hopefully everything went to plan.

Nathan and Haley have just left the hospital and Haley was fine now and they finally took her boot off she was fine now and Nathan felt so much better knowing there was no lasting effects from the accident.

"Nathan can you drop me of at Tric I've got to get something's to get" Haley said as they were driving away from the hospital.

"Ok I'll come with you and then we can head to Karen's for something to eat" Nathan suggested hoping they wouldn't be too late.

"No that's fine, I shouldn't be long you head to Karen's and I'll meet you there" Haley said she felt so bad keeping this from him, but how could she tell him she lost the ring he gave her all those years ago he'd be so hurt and she couldn't put him through that.

"Haley what's going on with you you've been acting weird all morning now you don't want me to come with you to Tric" Nathan asked this wasn't how this day was supposed to go.

"I'm fine Nathan, I just left something's in the office and I need to speak to Mandy about something I won't be long and then I'll meet you at Tric" Haley said feeling even worse than she already did he was being a supportive and loving husband and she was keeping things from him.

When Haley got to her office she looked everywhere for her ring, her office looked like it been robbed there was draws and paper everywhere. "Haley what the hell" Mandy said as she saw the state of Haley's office.

"Mandy I don't know what I'm going to do" Haley cried as she sat on the floor.

"Hales what's happened" Amanda said as she sat next to her best friend.

"I've lost my wedding ring, I can't find it anywhere and I've been lying to Nathan all day because I can't bear to tell him I've lost it, and I don't know what to do he's going to hate me" Haley cried things couldn't be any worse she was so angry at herself for losing it.

"Haley you need to tell Nathan I'm sure he'll forgive you it's not like you meant to lose it, I still don't get how you lost it but that doesn't matter all that matters is you and Nathan and from the short time I've known him that boy loves you he won't care about a bit of jewellery he'll only care that your ok so go and speak to him before he starts thinking the worse" Amanda said hoping she listened.

"Thanks Mandy can I borrow your car Nathan dropped me off earlier" Haley asked Amanda was right she needed to tell Nathan what was going on she just hoped he forgave her.

"Dad where's mom" Angel asked as her dad walked through the door.

"She's at Tric she had something's to do she going to meet me here" Nathan sighed as he sat down.

"Are you ok dad" Angel asked as she sat next to him.

"Your mom's been acting weird all day and she won't talk to me" Nathan said feeling left out.

"Dad mom's probably freaking out that she lost her wedding ring, I know I would be if I were her, she'll be here soon and everything will be perfect don't worry" Angel said thinking bad about taking the ring now she didn't want her mom hurting.

"That makes sense it would explain the fact she's dressed like were in the north pole all day.

"Nathan what's going on" Haley asked as she saw Karen's all decorated and the only people there were Nathan and Angel.

"I wanted to surprise you, I need to say something" Nathan started to say he never felt so nervous.

"Nathan I'm so sorry for the way I've been acting all day you must have been so confused, see I lost my wedding ring and I feel so bad I never take it off and I wanted to find it before you noticed but I ended up hurting you and I'm so sorry for keeping this from you, I'm so sorry for losing my ring" Haley started to say as tears streamed down her face.

"You mean this ring" Nathan asked as he pulled it out of his pocket.

"Where did you find it" Haley asked shocked he had her ring.

"I kind of stole it, Haley I love you and I've always loved you I want us to get married again so what do you say Haley James will you marry me again in front of all her family and friends" Nathan asked hoping she'd say yes.

"Yes of course I'll marry you again always and forever" Haley smiled as she leaped into his arms, what was a really awful day has turned into one of the best days of her life.
