Chapter 18
Angel was so nervous for her date with Brantley she didn't know what to wear. Thankfully her dad was handling the news better today which she knew had to do with her mom she was so happy for them and she couldn't wait for the baby to be born.
Angel spent the whole day with Haley shopping mostly for Spain and some new clothes Angel needed. Haley even bought Nathan some new clothes knowing he hated to shop as most of his clothes he's had since high school.
"Mom what do you think" Angel asked she's never been on a date before and she really liked Brantley and wanted to impress him.
"You look amazing don't she Nathan" Haley asked because Nathan was speechless.
"Excuse me you're not wearing that go and change right now" Nathan yelled there was no way his little girl was wearing that.
"Nathan she's beautiful and she's not changing, Angel don't listen to your dad he's being silly" Haley said shaking her head at Nathan for making Angel feel bad.
"I'm not being silly everyone's going to be looking at my little girl, please go and change what's wrong with what you was wearing earlier that's fine you're only going to tric" Nathan tried reasoning with them it was hard enough letting her go out with this seventeen year old without her looking like that.
"Nathan she can't wear jeans and a hoodie don't be silly, I know this is hard for you but Angel is a young lady she's going to be going on dates you need to let her grow up" Haley said as she hugged him.
"Thanks mom I'm going to go finish getting ready" Angel smiled as she left them in the lounge.
"I hope the next baby is a boy I can't go through this again. Why can't she just stay my little girl. Things were so much easier when she wasn't interested in boys" Nathan sighed as he held Haley in his arms.
"You're so cute, Nathan everything will be ok Angel is a smart girl she will be fine and Amanda's working at tric tonight I know she'll look after Angel if anything happens" Haley smiled knowing her daughter would be ok.
Brantley was so nervous to be meeting Angel's parents he's heard scary things about Coach Scott when it comes to Angel and he was petrified Angel was the only person he knew at Tree Hill High and he really liked her he needed this night to go well. He left his bike home and booked a taxi a suggestion from his uncle about safety and wanting to make an impression with her parents.
"Hello coach Scott I'm Brantley" he said as he finally had the courage to knock on the door.
"Brantley, so you want to date my daughter" Nathan said as he noticed how nervous the boy was.
"I yeah I em we're going to be going to Tric" Brantley stumbled not really knowing what to say.
"Nathan stop grilling the poor boy Brantley come in Angel will be right down" Haley said as she pulled Nathan away from the boy.
"Thanks Mrs Scott" Brantley said as he sat down on the couch waiting for Angel he wanted this part of the evening to be over with the looks Nathan was giving him.
"Hi Brantley" Angel said as she made her way downstairs and noticed he was sitting there.
"Wow you look amazing" Brantley said as he took Angel's hand.
"Thanks so we should be going bye mom, dad" Angel smiled wanting them to leave before her dad grilled Brantley.
"Hales maybe we should head to tric" Nathan suggested as he watched them leave.
"Nathan she'll be fine and we need to plan our trip to LA I've got loads of packing to do" Haley said as she led him back into the house.
"Hales we can do that later I'd feel much better if I was at tric" Nathan sighed wanting to go after Angel.
"No way mister I'm not going to let you ruin Ange's first date, she'll be fine" Haley said Angel was a smart girl she knew how to handle herself.
"You promise" Nathan sighed he knew Haley was right he needed to trust his daughter she was growing up as much as he hated it.
"You're so cute, I do hope for your sake the new baby is a boy because you'll be going through this again in another 15 years," Haley laughed at the face he was giving her.
"Right I'll help you pack because I don't want you to end up in hospital again," Nathan said as they went upstairs.
"Nathan I'm fine, now we know I'm pregnant I just have to be eating and taking care of myself I'll be ok, I promise if I start feeling sick or dizzy I'll tell you" Haley said as she hugged him she knew he worried.
"Ok, would you like to watch a movie, Angel isn't going to be home for a few hours and I'm sure we could pack another time we're not leaving for a few days. I just really want to lay here in each other's arms" Nathan smiled as he held his wife in his arms.
"That sound perfect" Haley smiled as she kissed him.
"Hi Chase can I get two Coke's please" Angel asked as she went to the bar she knew Brantley felt nervous.
"HI Angel, Mandy in the studio, she should be out soon so who's your friend" Chase asked as he handed her the drinks.
"This is my date Brantley, I'm sure my dad must have mentioned I had a date I'm surprised Uncle Luke hasn't turned up to spy on us" Angel said as she took the drinks and led Brantley over to one of the tables.
"Would you like to dance" Brantley asked hoping she would.
"I'd love too" Angel smiled as she took his hand.
"How cute do they look" Amanda smiled as she watched them dancing.
"If Nathan was here he wouldn't think it was cute trust me, isn't he like two years older she to young" Chase said as he held Amanda in his arms.
"It's young love it's cute, I promised Hales Angel would have a good night and I intend to hold that promise so please don't go Nathan on me, but trust me if he gets handsy I'll kick his arse" Amanda smiled as she kissed him.
After a couple of hours of dancing and talking Angel knew she had to be heading home soon she really didn't want to be in trouble with her parents.
"Would you like to grab something to eat before I take you home" Brantley asked not wanting the night to end it would also give them some alone time without everyone staring at them.
"Yes thank you, I'm sorry if anyone made you feel uncomfortable it's what happens in a small town when everyone knows you. You know my nan used to own the place when my dad was in high school, then my aunt Peyton owned it, now my mom owns it, I've been going there my whole life" Angel said as the headed to the fast food place.
"That explains a lot your lucky to have family that care, I had a really nice time tonight. So are you excited about Spain, I bet it will be amazing I've never left the US" Brantley said as he held her hand.
"Yeah I can't wait, what will you be doing during the summer" Angel asked.
"I think I'll be stuck in summer school I'm failing a lot of my classes and I need to look for a summer job" Brantley said it was hard for him this is the first time in his life he was in a stable environment.
"If you want I can ask my uncle about a job at the garage I know he could use the help" Angel smiled as he opened the door for her.
"Thank you, I'd like that I'm really glad I moved here, It's your birthday soon, isn't it I heard Lilly mention it" Brantley asked.
"Yes it is sweet sixteen, I don't know what I'm doing for it, I don't know what my parents have planned I'm hopefully going to get a car as long as I pass the test which I should" Angel said as they ordered their food.
"I'm sure you will" Brantley smiled as they sat down to wait for their order.
"Nathan will you calm down she will be home soon" Haley said as he was pacing up and down in the living room.
"They left Tric half an hour ago, I'll kill him if he's done anything to my daughter she's never going out again" Nathan ranted he never should have let her go.
"Nathan you're over reacting they must have decided to walk back it's a nice night, Angel will be fine it's not even 11 you're being ridiculous" Haley sighed as she watched him.
"How are you calm about this, I want to rip his head off, I knew she was to young I'm not prepared for any of this" Nathan sighed as she wrapped her arms around him to get him to calm down.
"Oh Nathan, she'll be ok" Haley said just as a car pulled up.
"Ok your right" Nathan smiled as he saw his daughter get out the car.
"Look how cute they are" Haley smiled as they were holding hands.
"Oh hell no, I'll kill him" Nathan said as he went to head to the door how dare he kiss his daughter.
"Nathan, don't you dare, we're not ruining this for her" Haley said as she stopped him.
"Ok I won't do anything I promise I'll just open the door that will make him get away from my daughter," Nathan said as he headed to the front door.
"Oh hi dad" Angel smiled as he opened the door she couldn't believe she just had her first kiss.
"Hi Mr Scott, Angel I'll text you, I had a really nice time tonight, by" Brantley said as she rushed off to get back in the taxi not wanting her dad to be mad at him.
"By Brantley, hi mom, so how bad was dad" Angel asked she had a feeling he drove her mom mad.
"Oh it was bad Angel, he was not prepared at all, when he kissed you I thought he was going to get a gun and shoot him" Haley laughed as they walked back onto the house.
"Don't tempt me, I've aged like 20 years in a couple of hours, so no more dates until your 50" Nathan said happy that she was safe back at home.
"Yeah right dad, not happening, Brantley is my boyfriend so you're going to have to get used to me dating" Angel smiled as Haley handed her a drink.
"I'm going to go and lie down, I'm in hell" Nathan sighed as he left them to talk he didn't want to hear any details about what happened on her date.
