Part 5 The Cinema
Joe arrived early for once to pick Jess up. Come on girl he said, you look lovely. She wanted to change her handbag. No time, no time said Joe, we want to get a drink before the platoon get there. Oh Joe she said, I didn't know they were going. Well ya know what its like he said with a lick of his lip and a draw on his cigarette. I err got the tickets for a bargain and flogged him. Jonesy is bringing his lady friend an all.
Lady friend is that what I am. Not arf laughed Joe, tickling her causing her to fall on the sofa with Joe on top of her. With a kiss of the cheek he pulled her up. Jess was having a hard time staying calm. Joe was looking immaculate in his grey suit, hair gelled, smelling fantastic. She didn't think she could really be his type, she didn't feel adequate.
At the pictures Joe grabbed an usherette kissing her full on. Oh Joe behave said Shirley. Mainwaring wasn't impressed. Wilson looked bored already and Frazer positively mad at having had to pay money to come. Jones helped Godfrey to his seat then tried to pretend he wasn't with Mrs Fox. Joe and Jess sat next to Pike who was leaning forward intently at the screen. Joe turned to Jess and smiled, their eyes locking. He tilted her chin with his finger and kissed her on the lips for the first time, lightly then lit a cigarette. He then pulled her close and kissed her again gently , her first proper kiss, well first proper one she'd enjoyed. She had had fumbles with boys which were awful, either colliding faces or teeth or not knowing what to do at all. Joe was a fabulous kisser, she was enjoying it so much. He pulled back kissing her neck. None of that in here said Mainwaring spoiling the mood. Well it was already being spoilt by Pike staring. Joe said to him Ere you wanna take notes . Pike huffing turned around.
Afterwards Joe went back to Jessica's for a drink. They shared a quick kiss but Joe seemed distracted saying he had to be somewhere in the morning. Yes he told Jess, she could go with him but no questions.
