Sasuke Uchiha
Standing by the window, Sasuke took his time enjoying a healthy cup of bitter black coffee as he watched the city below. His encounter with Hinata the night before presented an opportunity he never thought he could obtain, which of course was to have a little 'fun' with the Hyuuga family and his own. Not that he wanted to destroy their empire to the ground, well maybe he did a little, but it was a once in a life time opportunity he was not passing up. But not to seem to evil, he did really have pity on the Hyuuga because he pretty much sympathise with her to an extent, but was lucky to have gotten out before he could lose himself to pleasing his father in the way she did.
Thinking back to their younger days, Sasuke could remember the amounts of time she would spend in the library. Hinata was pretty much his rival when it came to grades because they would always score high marks in all work given to them. If Hinata was not in the library, then she was either in class or some other place with her nose stuck in a book. At the time, Sasuke was ready to believe that she was a machine built to study until one particular afternoon…
Flashback
Sasuke had been sent by the coach of the school's basket-ball team to look for one of the player's that had a habit of sneaking off during practice. He hated doing it, but their coach was rather adamant about it and emphasising on the fact that Sasuke was 'Captain' and should therefore be responsible for the attendance of the team.
As he neared the music room, he heard piano music and figured he would check there to see or ask about the missing basket ball player. Seeing that the door was ajar, Sasuke peeked inside to scan the room. He was prepared to see a club in session or a few people practising, not Hinata Hyuuga at the piano. As she played her tune, he was surprised that she was actually good at this, but at the same time, puzzled that she didn't take up music as a class or a club. When the melancholic tune ended, Sasuke quietly slipped away.
Flashback end
Every other day of basketball practice, Sasuke would pass by the music room and would find Hinata at the piano playing a different tune. Sometimes he would sit outside by the window of the room, because hearing her play was the most soothing and peaceful thing for him. Plus, it gave him solitude from the many girls that tried flirting with him. It went on for a while, but then she stopped going to the place altogether. He was puzzled by her sudden action, but decided it best not to ask. Back then, he didn't want any more attention than he already had, it was bad enough that the spotlight was on them because of their families rivalry; but if they were seen even socialising as friends, it would be the talk of the century and cause problems.
However, thinking about it now, Sasuke could use such to his advantage in Hinata's little scheme for revenge.
Hinata Hyuuga
I can't believe I'm going to do this.
This has to be the craziest thing I've ever done.
All these thoughts were running through Hinata's head while she sat beside Sasuke in his car (most likely rented) driving to who knows where. After sending a reassuring text to Ten-ten, all common sense flew out the window as she followed Sasuke's lead in her grand plan of 'revenge'. She had pretty much lied to Neji and Ten-ten about going to meet an old acquaintance and that she would be alright travelling on her own. Somehow, Hinata was able to convince them just by a thread that they needed all the time they needed together being the married couple they were, which was all the convincing Ten-ten needed to send Hinata on her way. Neji was sceptical but had Hinata promise to call or text them every day to assure him that she was alright.
Yet, at this moment, Hinata was definitely not alright.
They had been in the car for a while now, and Sasuke had yet to divulge any information that would give her an idea of their destination.
"You're frown is louder than anything any of my loudest colleagues, Hyuuga," said Sasuke, "What's on your mind?"
"I jumped at the word revenge on my family at the suggestion of the hotshot son of my family's business rival while I was intoxicated and it's now clicking to me that I should have thought about this more seriously," Hinata replied.
"You make it sound like I'm an evil man abducting the precious princess from the safety of her tower"
"Sasuke-san…"
"Its Sasuke, just Sasuke"
Hinata discreetly rolled her eyes, "I don't think you fully understand how hopeless it is getting revenge on my family. We both know that the Hyuuga are rolling in money to protect them from threats both physical and legal. And don't get me started on the lawsuit they'll file against me if I even breath a word about the business which even if they didn't, no company would hire me for possible threat breach of confidentiality of business operations"
Hinata expected Sasuke to at the very least take her words seriously enough to turn around the car and return her to her cousin. Instead, her ears were filled with deep chuckles from Sasuke that turned into a full out laughter.
"Wh-what's so funny?" Hinata asked.
"I've known that Hyuugas can be so uptight," Sasuke laughed, "but seriously, you have to loosen up a little Hinata. You're not like your family"
"And how would you know that?"
"You seem to forget that we went to the same school at some point. You can't tell me you forgot all about my feats at Konoha-Prep Academy"
"You mean all the things that made you as insensitive as you are right now?"
"One of my best traits, but not the point right now. I recall that you had quite a hand for music and arts. In fact, you were quite passionate about them and yet you slaved away with your studies. My guess, and I'm pretty sure I'm correct about it- "
"Please stop," Hinata whispered, her head turned away.
"-you were pressured by your family to focus on everything that would benefit the 'Hyuuga' Empi-"
"Sasuke!" Hinata said in a broken voice.
Sasuke paused and chanced a glance at Hinata. Her left hand gripped the arm rest and her right was firmly on her plump quivering lips, attempting to block the quiet sobs that easily slipped through. Sasuke wisely decided to keep quiet and focus on the road ahead. After twenty-minutes of awkward silence and soundless tears, Hinata finally spoke.
"M-make no mistake, Sasuke Uchiha," Hinata said harshly, "I…I have my own reasons for my decisions. Throwing them tabled with my regrets in my face is not going to give some revelation of what I should and shouldn't have done. It's happened already and I know what I've sacrificed to get to where I am"
"I apologise. I was not pointing out all that to rub your misery in your face," Sasuke apologised, "You should have figured out my stand in all this already that I understand. More than you know"
"And what is it you understand?"
"It was never about the Hyuuga empire"
Later
By the time they arrived in the city, the sun was low in the sky. Sasuke stopped at a restaurant so they could get food.
"Why are we here?" Hinata asked.
"You're hungry right?"
"Well yes but-"
"Let's go eat," Sasuke said, slipping out of the car. Hinata followed suit, saying,
"I don't really feel like eating out in a place like this"
"Come now Hyuuga, its only food"
Hinata sighed and followed Sasuke in. Before going through the doors, Sasuke slipped his arm around Hinata's waist and pulled her closer to his body. Sensing Hinata's protest, he leaned in and whispered in her ear,
"Just relax, Hi-na-ta. Let's not make a scene"
Hinata blushed and looked away in embarrassment, not because of the situation (well, it did count too), but at the way a shiver ran down her back in response to Sasuke's husky voice. While keeping her heart in check, Sasuke introduced himself to the maître d and asked for a table in view of the dance floor. After having been escorted to their table, they ordered food and got round to eating.
"How are you finding the food?" Sasuke asked.
"It's alright," Hinata replied none to enthusiastically.
"Are you still upset?"
"No," Hinata mumbled, setting down her utensils and using a napkin to daintily wipe the sides of her mouth.
"Then what is it? Your loud silence tends to get a bit annoying sometimes"
"I'm confused, alright," Hinata replied, "What is this grand plan you have in mind against my family?"
"Careful now," Sasuke smirked, "we don't want unwanted ears to listen in"
The band entered the stage and began to play music. Sasuke grinned in their direction and got to his feet. He went over to Hinata's side and held out his hand.
"Would you honour me with this dance?"
"You're not serious?" Hinata answered.
"Come on, Hinata. Its high time you start living a little. Its only a dance"
Hinata hesitated for a minute, and then placed her hand in his as she stood up. Once on the dance floor, Sasuke took Hinata's left hand in his right and his left found its way to the small of her back, bringing her closer to his person. She gasped in surprise, locking her eyes with his.
"I-is there a purpose to this?" Hinata stammered, "we're not that close…or anything…"
"Hn. Your shy habits are cute, but getting a little old," Sasuke said, "and there's no reason to be shy. At least with me"
He said the last part quite close to her ear, causing her to gasp and for the unwelcomed, yet pleasant shivers to return.
"Care to share your plan?" Hinata said regaining control of her traitorous body.
"Well," Sasuke began, "right now, there's nothing we can do about the Hyuuga business. So you can rest easy at the fact that we're not going to destroy the empire or anything"
"If that's the case, then what's the whole point of admitting to helping me with this?"
"We can't do anything that drastic, but we can give them a run for their money using the 'Asian network'"
"What?"
"In fact," Sasuke paused, looking behind Hinata, "It's safe to say that Phase one is already in motion"
Before Hinata could say anything, Sasuke leaned down and kissed Hinata. She was too shocked to comprehend what was going on, that she didn't see a young behind them taking pictures of the two. The young woman of Asian descent was the daughter of one of the patrons of the restaurant. She was in shock at the sight before and was already sending the picture to her friends, with the caption:
Big News!
Sasuke Uchiha is NOT single. He's in a relationship with Hinata Hyuuga!
By the end of the night, the media would be in chaos at the big news of the relationship of the century.
A/N Okay, so I have to say, I really enjoyed writing this chapter. I was mostly inspired by the movie 'Crazy Rich Asians'. That movie really came through for me with my writer's block. This story will not be very long so I hope y'all enjoy it.
Reviews welcome :)
