"Wait a minute! He did what now?" Kenichi was furious he had just found out the first thing his son did when he woke up was grab the hands of the maids in the mansion!
"Oh my I didn't know our Subaru was such a pervert." Naoko was shocked at how shameful her son was acting.
"Now now he wasn't all that bad; he just grabbed their hands and then he left them alone when I came in." Emilia reassured the parents of her lovely knight.
"Wait so the maids were twins? And how were they like?" Asked Naoko
"Well for starters Ram is the pink haired maid and she is really feisty and constantly teased Subaru. She does care for him but doesn't admit it." Emilia began to describe the two maids
"Tsundere huh? Subaru sounds like he has a harem! How dare he be so unloyal to you!" Kenichi pointed out
"So Ram is very feisty, how about Rem?" Asked Naoko
Emilia just rubbed her head sheepishly in embarrassment but then she said "that's the thing Rem was erased from my memories and the rest of the world"
"Huh? Erased what do you mean erased like you guys can't remember her? How do you know she exists then?" Naoko questioned
"Well you see she was lost to a very evil person and he had the ability to eat people's memories and make them have a form of amnesia and he could also erase other people's memories of the victim." Emilia said matter of factly
"Ok so if you claim this person can erase Rem from memories of others how do you know she's even real?" Kenichi was left puzzled
"Well that's the thing Subaru has a special ability and he could still remember Rem. Also she does exist because her body is still here but she is in a form of hibernation. She can't wake up."
"Maybe Subaru can remember because he's not from your world! Making him unaffected by your world's rules" Naoko was sure of it now
"Could be the case but we don't even know how he is left unaffected by the erasure of I may have forgotten her but Subaru did tell me everything about her."
"How do you know he isn't lying! He is a bit of a prankster and might want to exaggerate and show off." Kenichi questioned the half elf
"No I have fragments of the events that happened so while I have memories of him doing things alone, he claims to have had Rem help him and that her achievements went to him or her sister. I know Subaru would never lie because I trust him with my life! Also he would have nothing to gain to push his achievements onto others." Emilia believed in her knight and had to make his parents understand how selfless and amazing he was.
"Makes sense our Subaru would never take people's achievements as his own." Naoko stated and Kenichi agreed as he loved his son for his selfless nature.
"Yes so I believe everything he told me and so Rem had been very important in helping him. He told me she was very nice and had very low self worth. He told me she was very friendly and was far more diligent than her sister. She would constantly go above and beyond in her maid duties and constantly cheered up Subaru after her sister's insults." Emilia stated
"Oh? Do we have a little love rival for you?" Naoko smirked at the elf excited to see her flustered but was shocked at the reaction of said half elf
"Hmph, she could try all she wants but I will try even harder to win over Subaru's heart and attention" Emilia proudly stated with a strong look of confidence
Both parents were left speechless for a couple seconds but they smiled at each other and approved of the girl's confidence.
"Anyways the 2 maids were very shocked by Subaru's actions and called him out on it but they forgave him and when we sat down to talk in the dining hall to discuss Subaru's reward for his help in getting my insignia back he left us all speechless." Emilia recalled the event like it was yesterday
"That brat better not have asked for anything naughty!" Kenichi knew how much his son loved silver haired girls especially after seeing Subaru's room filled with silver haired girls in posters and figurines.
Naoko was a little worried but Subaru would never ask for anything naughty would he?
"And when we asked what he wanted he just asked for a job at the mansion as a butler!" Emilia slammed her palms on the table as she found herself a little annoyed at how little he wanted as compensation
Both parents sighed in relief and immediately bombarded Emilia with questions.
"Yes so we shook off our shock and Roswaal accepted and hired Subaru. I was annoyed because he deserved more but when I asked him he just said that's all he wanted from the bottom of his heart like with my name."
Both parents couldn't help but smile as they watched as the half elf was lost in her memories once again as she looked to the ceiling with a blush and smiling as she thought of their son.
"So yes he and I continued to hang out and he continued to compliment me but I could tell he was overworking himself. I noticed how he was constantly on edge and was always being very extra with his phrases and silly poses and by the second day he had already burnt himself out." Emilia told her future in laws
"What?How hard was he working if he burnt himself out on the second day?" Kenichi was very confused as a butler shouldn't have to do much work right?
" I wasn't sure but I noticed and when I confronted him he was trying too hard to hide it and so I took it upon myself to help him. You see he was very energetic and it seemed too forced and so I pulled him into a room." Emilia blushed
Both parents blushed as well because they were worried their son went all the way at such a young age. They wanted grandkids but not this early!
Emilia noticed and covered her face as she went full on cherry faced! "We didn't do that, get your heads out of the gutter! Oh how she wished Subaru was here to tease her about her outdated language.
"I only gave him a lap pillow. He really loves lap pillows and was asking for one the second we met as a reward for his butler work. I caved in because he was trying so hard and I felt he deserved one." Emilia really enjoyed those sessions as she remembered how prickly his hair was and how fun it was to stroke his hair and watch as his face got cuter as he slept.
"As I gave him the lap pillow I could tell he was starting to break and was struggling to keep his tears from falling. Eventually I leaned in and whispered into his ear about how it's been rough for him! The second I did he burst into tears. It must've been like some kind of huge weight was taken away from him. I almost started crying myself when I saw how vulnerable he was but I was happy that he trusted me enough to show his weaker side."
Kenichi was super confused now. He knew butler work was hard but to have his son crying after 1 day something didn't add up. Just what went down in that mansion?"
"Eventually he passed out and slept on my lap. Jeez he was so cute I couldn't help but pinch his cheek as he slept. I stayed there comforting him and brushing his hair until he finally woke up. And when he awoke he instantly ran off talking about how embarrassing it was for him to cry in front of me."
"Yeah boys are like that. They want to be strong and impress the ladies!" Kenichi smiled as he knew how embarrassed his son must've been.
"Yes so eventually Subaru and Rem had to go shopping for ingredients as we started to run out. They went to a village that had taken a huge liking to Subaru and especially the kids. They really adored Subaru. And during the trip to the village Subaru had run into a problem!"
"Another problem? He can't seem to catch a break!" Kenichi felt sympathy for his son
Naoko was extremely worried as it had been the second time in her son's first week in another world where he could get hurt.
"Yes so apparently when he showed up the village children had been kidnapped by mabeasts!"
"Mabeast?" Both parents asked
"Yes they are evil creatures that devour people's mana so they eat people to gain the mana in our bodies. As he ran to chase after the kids he found them but they had been bitten by the beasts and they had cursed the poor children. Subaru and Rem healed the kids and put them to sleep but one was left behind and had been dragged further into the forest. Subaru told Rem to take the kids back so he could get the last child."
"He is very brave but still that was super reckless. There must've been many beasts and they could overpower him!" Naoko was proud of her son but still had to scold him for his reckless actions.
"As Subaru ventured further into the forest he eventually found the child but he was surrounded by mabeasts and they jumped at Subaru. He managed to kill one but they all charged at once. He would've died but he told me Rem had arrived and slaughtered all the mabeasts after she found him. She was an oni and they were physically stronger than humans so she made quick work of the demon dogs."
"So he got out safely right?" Kenichi started to get worried as he saw the half elf shake her head from left to right.
"Unfortunately Subaru and Rem were overwhelmed by the many beasts. They almost killed him again but Rem saved him and pushed him out the way and took the attack. She hurt herself extremely badly but oni's had a trump card in the form of a horn sticking out their head. The horn allowed them to gain a huge power boost but she couldn't control it so it made her a mindless killing machine." Emilia remembered how gruesome the scene was described by Subaru.
"Since she could not control her power she was more vulnerable as she wasn't thinking straight and the beasts pounced on her but Subaru jumped in and pushed her away but as a result he got mauled by the demon dogs." Emilia hated how hurt her Subaru had been when saw his body as she healed him.
"Oh no did that injure him and mess up his face?" Asked Kenichi
"No those dogs were lucky that they didn't mess up my precious Subaru's face or else I would've made their lives hell!" Emilia's expression grew dark as she remembered those mutts.
Naoko was a little frightened by this half elf that demonstrated yandere qualities but she calmed down knowing she was safe. Those dogs were lucky they were dead.
"So Rem brought Subaru back to the village and called me and her sister over and I was scared as I healed Subaru because I was afraid I would lose him. I spent the whole night healing him."
"You really do care about him." Naoko loved to tease the half elf beauty and hoped to see her son's reactions to the cute sight before her.
"Of course is it even a mystery after all I said?" Emilia responded with a cute pout.
"Anyways after I spent the night healing him. Beatrice was brought in and she specialized in curses so she healed the kids and tried to heal Subaru but there were too many curses on him."Emilia grunted in annoyance
"How did he get saved then?" Asked Kenichi
"Well you see the one who inflicted the curse had to die to remove them so Rem heard about this and immediately jumped into action and chased after the mabeasts. I would've gladly joined as they hurt my Subaru but I had been too exhausted and fell asleep on his bedside, I also had no knowledge of his curses and how deadly they were." Emilia had steam coming out her ears.
"Eventually Subaru woke up but that dunderhead left me inside the cabin and didn't wake me up!"
Emilia continued to pout at the memory
"But yes he eventually found out he was going to die at the end of the day if he didn't kill all the mabeasts. He heard how Rem went to fight the beasts and Ram overheard how he sister was in danger. Ram and Subaru jumped into action and they chased after Rem."
"She definitely could be a love rival!" Naoko burst into laughter at seeing the half elf playfully punch her shoulder.
"As Subaru and Ram chased after Rem they found her but she had gone crazy again. They teamed up and had snapped her out of it once again. Ram had used up all her mana and Rem as well they had been exhausted. Subaru was the last one with any energy so he tried to fend them all off but he was overwhelmed until Roswaal arrived. Roswaal is the strongest magic user in all of lugunica so he made quick work of the beasts!"
"So Subaru had saved those 2 maids and was about to die but thankfully your benefactor saved him." Kenichi sighed as he slumped back in his chair.
"How did Roswaal know where he was?" Questioned Naoko
"Well Puck wouldn't allow me to go and being the father figure I had, I had no right to disobey him. But I asked Roswaal for help and sent him into the forest to find Subaru and bring him back safe and sound." Emilia felt ashamed for not ignoring Puck's request and not helping Subaru.
"It's okay you did help him find Subaru and that is a win in my book." Kenichi reassured Emila
"Subaru then woke up later that night and he met me outside in the garden. I was extremely worried and I was overjoyed when he came out to see me. I felt like I was hurting him because all he had done since meeting me was constantly saving me and getting hurt."
"That's just how Subaru is. He is extremely kind and he probably really likes you and so he wanted to help you out of his own free will." Naoko told Emilia with a motherly smile
"Yes but I wanted to repay him and he told me he wanted to take me out on a date." Emilia blushed remembering the beautiful moment they shared.
"Wow he moves fast. You didn't hesitate to take him up on that did you?" Kenichi asked with a raised eyebrow.
"You see I did accept it but looking back I wish I could've given him a kiss or something to really pay him back. I couldn't do that because I couldn't believe that he genuinely liked me." Sighed Emilia
"Why couldn't you believe him? You're beautiful and extremely kind so who wouldn't like you." Asked Naoko
Emilia couldn't help it and she started to tear up. She was truly happy she had met Subaru and here she was being complimented and approved by the parents of the person she wanted to love with all her heart. She realized where he got his nature from and she wished she could bring this lovely family back together. She wanted nothing more than to have them hug her Subaru and have them smile the brightest smiles they could produce after the pain during the last year.
"Eh why are you crying? Is it something I said?" Asked Naoko as she glanced towards a similarly worried Kenichi
"I'm sorry, it's just It makes me soo happy when you compliment me because I truly love Subaru and I'm starting to really like you 2 as well and it makes me so happy hearing it from you." Emilia said in between sniffles
"Oh my you don't have to worry as we truly like you as well. You have our blessing with Subaru and we want you to be happy with him." Naoko smiled lovingly towards Emilia
"Are you sure I'm going to tell you something that might change your mind." Emilia said with a fearful expression
"What could a kind girl like you could've possibly done?" Asked Kenichi
"Well you see around 400 years ago there lived a witch who destroyed half of my world. She was extremely powerful and she was sealed away by 3 people. The dragon who protects oir kingdom, the sage who watches over the seal, and the first sword saint who was the ancestor of Reinhard Van Astrea." Explained Emilia
"Oh my goodness. How awful." Both parents said
Emilia flinched at those words but continued "This witch was extremely powerful but she had a very odd appearance…. She was A silver Haired Half elf with amethyst eyes."
Both parents recoiled in shock but they had to hear more because the girl in front of them may have matched the description but she was nowhere near evil.
Emilia continued on as she had already gotten this far "of course since she was a half elf, demi humans were oppressed for many centuries and the elves were treated the worst as punishment for the witch even though they had nothing to do with such a crime."
Both parents continued to listen
"As you can see I match all the descriptions and so I had been hated by everyone and had brought fear in the eyes of children. And since I constantly got put down I grew to hate my appearance and had extremely low self worth."
"That was why when I met Subaru I was shocked that he wasn't scared of me and instead found all the things that I hated about myself attractive. Over time he convinced me to love myself more and he told me he loved my hair,eyes and not because I looked like the witch but because he loved Emilia just Emilia."
Naoko immediately pulled Emilia into a hug and stroked her hair lovingly because she couldn't begin to comprehend just how scared the girl she was comforting was and how much she must've wanted to disappear from the world.
Emilia started to cry even harder as she was held and after a couple of minutes she calmed down and backed out of the embrace.
She wiped her tears as she said "That's why I hated seeing Subaru hurt the only person who cared about me was constantly getting hurt for me who didn't deserve to have someone as kind as Subaru. He snapped me out of this train of thoughts a while later and that's why I love him."
"It's okay Emilia you need to love yourself more and it's okay to be selfish. Maybe Subaru was pulled away from us because you needed him more than we did. I could never hate you after I had learned just how much you went through and how you were never at fault." Kenichi told Emilia
"Yes Emilia don't blame yourself for anything and I'm happy that he has made you happy and you have done the same for him." Naoko smiled at Emilia
"Thank you so much that means a lot to me. As I was saying I couldn't accept his love and I just wish that I could give him hugs and kisses because I might never return to him."
"Don't think like that, we will find a way to get you back to him!" Naoko reassured the half elf because she only wanted the best for these two lovebirds.
"So Emilia you did accept that date right?" Asked Kenichi
"Yes I accepted it and I was overjoyed that Subaru had become an overnight hero and he promised to take me out the next day." Emilia smiled at the 2 parents as she felt relieved that the truth was out and how his parents did not think she was evil or ugly.
AN: So yea here y'all go, I hope it was a good chapter for y'all. Also I read all reviews and I saw how you guys wanted more wholesome Emilia and Natsuki family moments and I guarantee I will provide those. She won't just leave after telling them Subaru's Journey, she will have fun with her future in laws! So yeah I saw how someone wanted me to just skip the retelling of stories and if that's what the majority wants then I will get straight to Emilia spending time with the Natsuki's in Japan. Think of it like a date but with the 2 Natsuki's showing Emilia their world and maybe she can start to relate with Subaru. But if the majority wants me to finish up arc 3 & 4 then I'll do that first and then get to the family outing. Just tell me in the reviews. Feel free to throw any ideas for what they could do in Japan. I'm planning on having her stay for 2 days but in lugunica only 1 night passes. I don't want our Subaru to freak out over Emilia's disappearance.
