The shift begins
Time: 2:45 p.m.
Ruby had gotten back to beacon around 2:00 pm after being hired as the new night guard for Freddy Fazursa's Pizzeria. "sigh, my shift starts tomorrow night." ruby said to herself while walking back to her dorm room while reading the employee manual. "says here the pay is 120 lien, With the option of an extra 25 for over time on Saturday." she said to herself while walking into the room before being startled by yang. "so, did you get the job?" yang asked while she did her homework. "yep. I start tomorrow at midnight." ruby replied. "are you sure you are up for it ruby? I mean you don't really wake up early." Blake replied looking at ruby. "yes, I'm sure. I need this job. Besides I have an alarm clock I'll set for 9:30. That way I can wake up early enough to get ready for work" she replied setting her uniform into the closet.
"so, what does this job require anyway?" Weiss asked looking up from her homework. "not much really, I just sit in the office and keep an eye on the cameras making sure nothing happens." ruby replied. "sounds boring, better download a game on your scroll to keep busy rubes." yang added. "I already have remnant raiders installed." ruby replied before heading off into the bathroom to get washed up. "so, what does this place look like?" Blake asked. "I guess we can head over tomorrow since we have the day off." ruby replied while changing into her pajamas.
"ok, guess we can finally see how "safe" this place is." Blake pointed out before heading to bed. "I told you guys, its completely safe." ruby pointed out before going to bed. The next day ruby and her team were heading down to vale for lunch and stopped at Freddy's for lunch. "so, this is the place you're working at ruby?" yang asked looking at the building. "yup. Welcome to Freddy fazursa's pizzeria." ruby replied as the group walked into the restaurant and sat at a table. A few minutes later Chica walked in from the kitchen and sat a pizza down on the table for them scaring all of them except ruby.
"gah! What is that!?" Weiss exclaimed. "calm down Weiss. That's just Chica the animatronic chicken. She is one of the robot entertainers here at Freddy's." ruby explained before grabbing a slice. "thanks Chica. I'll see you all tonight." she jokingly said to the animatronic as it looked at her before walking away and joining the others on stage. "one of them?" yang asked looking at ruby. "yea, there is 4 of them. There is Chica, Bonnie, Freddy and Foxy" ruby pointed them all out. "foxy is out of order due to a malfunction though, that's why he is behind the curtain at pirates cove." ruby pointed out while munching on a slice of pizza. "this place is cool but creepy." Blake said while scanning the room.
"ah, miss rose. Good to see you. I hope you are ready for your shift tonight." henry said as he approached the group. "yep, I sure am. Everyone this is my boss, henry Emily." ruby said introducing the man to her team. "a pleasure to meet you mister Emily. I'm yang, ruby's older sister." yang said shaking the man's hand. "I have to ask, this job isn't dangerous, is it?" she asked him "of course not. This job is safe as safe can be. I assure you your sister is perfectly safe working here." henry exclaimed. "miss rose, I shall see you tonight." henry said before walking back to his office. "I don't know ruby. Something seems...off here. I can't shake the feeling there is something supernatural about this place." Blake said while looking at ruby with a concerned look.
"I promise Blake. I'll be perfectly fine, it's not like the animatronics are evil or something." ruby replied with an assuring laugh. "if you say so. Just be careful, ok?" Blake said before getting up and going to the bathroom. "I promise." ruby replied. They all finished eating and after paying for lunch they all went back to beacon so ruby could sleep before her shift. After setting her alarm clock for 10:30 ruby fell asleep.
Beep beep beep
Ruby woke up to the sound of her alarm clock and looked at the time. 9:30. "ok. Time to get up and ready for work." she said to herself, heaving her tired body up and sitting up in bed. Getting down she walked over to the bathroom and quietly closed the door hoping in the shower to wake her up after her shower she got dressed in the uniform for work and walked out of the dorms, By the time she left the dorms it was 9:45. Arriving at Freddy's at 11:00, She walked into the restaurant and headed to the security office.
"hey fritz. Ready for shift change." ruby said as she walked into the office. "oh, hey ruby. Yep. So, here is how you work the cams." he pointed out the cam buttons and showed her how to work them. "over here is door controls and lights. You won't need them unless absolutely necessary." he pointed out. By the time he was done explaining everything it was 11:55. "well, I'm out of here. Good luck ruby. I'll see Ya at 6." he said with a wave and headed out of the building.
A few minutes later ruby was sitting in the office checking the cams when the phone began to ring. ""Hello, hello? Uh, I wanted to record a message for you to help you get settled in on your first night. Um, I actually worked in that office before you. I'm finishing up my last week now, as a matter of fact. So, I know it can be a bit overwhelming, but I'm here to tell you there's nothing to worry about. Uh, you'll do fine. So, let's just focus on getting you through your first week. Okay?" "uh ok?" ruby replied checking the cams.
"Uh, let's see, first there's an introductory greeting from the company that I'm supposed to read. Uh, it's kind of a legal thing, you know. Um, "Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. A magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person. Upon discovering that damage or death has occurred, a missing person report will be filed within 90 days, or as soon property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced."
"d-death?" ruby asked scanning the cams and noticing nothing changed.
Blah blah blah, now that might sound bad, I know, but there's really nothing to worry about. Uh, the animatronic characters here do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No. If I were forced to sing those same stupid songs for twenty years and I never got a bath? I'd probably be a bit irritable at night too. So, remember, these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children and we need to show them a little respect, right? Okay.
So, just be aware, the characters do tend to wander a bit. Uh, they're left in some kind of free roaming mode at night. Uh...Something about their servos locking up if they get turned off for too long. Uh, they used to be allowed to walk around during the day too. But then there was The Bite of '87. Yeah. I-It's amazing that the human body can live without the frontal lobe, you know?"
"bite?! what the hell?! they walk around at night too?!" ruby began to slowly panic while checking the cams and occasionally checking the doors.
Uh, now concerning your safety, the only real risk to you as a night watchman here, if any, is the fact that these characters, uh, if they happen to see you after hours probably won't recognize you as a person. They'll p-most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now since that's against the rules here at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, they'll probably try to...forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear suit. Um, now, that wouldn't be so bad if the suits themselves weren't filled with crossbeams, wires, and animatronic devices, especially around the facial area. So, you could imagine how having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of discomfort...and death. Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when they pop out the front of the mask, heh."
"w-what?! i thought this job was safe?!" she exclaimed while quickly checking the cams. her face went pale when she noticed bonnie, freddy and chica were looking directly at the camera.
Y-Yeah, they don't tell you these things when you sign up. But hey, first day should be a breeze. I'll chat with you tomorrow. Uh, check those cameras, and remember to close the doors only if absolutely necessary. Gotta conserve power. Alright, good night."
she was beginning to panic. Her mind kept racing while checking the cameras. "Theres no way they can walk around at night, right? This all just a joke." she nervously said to herself before she checked the stage cam, her face going pale when she noticed bonnie was gone. She frantically checked the cams and found him standing in the dining room. Letting out a sigh of relief she went back to checking the cams. Occasionally she would see bonnie in the hallways and he even showed up in the doorway to which she slammed the door button closing the door.
6 am came around much to her relief. "oh, thank oum. 6 am. I'm saved." she exclaimed letting out a sigh of relief as the lights came on, getting up she went and unlocked the doors as fritz was walking up to the building. "morning fritz. Man am I glad to see the sunrise." ruby said as the next shift walked in. "morning ruby. Yea. It sure is a beautiful sight to see. Well, I'll see Ya tonight." he said as he walked off to the office as ruby went to the docks and caught the bull head back to beacon. Walking into her dorm room quietly she noticed that everyone was already awake and was just relaxing.
"woah ruby. Was it really that stressful?" yang asked pointing to ruby noticing her uniform was soaked in sweat and ruffled. "yea. It was." ruby replied before walking into the bathroom to shower and change throwing her uniform into the laundry to be washed before her shift that night. Collapsing on her bed and letting out a large sigh. "ruby? Are you ok?" Blake asked. "yea, I'm ok Blake, just stressed out a little from work." ruby replied before looking at Blake. Her face was covered in distraught and stress. "you sure? You look like you seen a ghost." Blake pointed out. "I'm not sure what I seen. But I'll find out tonight." was all ruby said before she fell asleep for the day.
