The Second Night
Time: 1:35 p.m.
Ruby was sitting in professor ports' class next to her team thinking about what she had seen the night before. Rubys' mind scape: "there has to be some logical explanation to why bonnie was walking around right?" she asked herself replaying the events of last night over and over in her head. Blake had noticed that ruby wasn't paying attention even more than usual and had tried to get her attention. "ruby. Psst. Ruby?" Blake continued trying to get ruby's attention. "miss belladonna. Please pay attention. You as well miss rose." professor port said looking at team RWBY.
"huh? Oh, sorry professor. Just deep in thought about something that happened at my work last night." ruby replied straitening her posture. "while I am happy you were able to find a job miss rose, I need not remind you that you must pay attention in class." professor port pointed out before continuing his lecture. Blake looked at ruby with concern about what she meant but put it off for now in order to focus on class.
A few hours later and it was the end of the school day and team RWBY was sitting in their dorm doing homework. Weiss had left to study in the library while yang was in the cafeteria doing her homework, something about 'couldn't study on an empty stomach.' this left Blake and ruby in the dorm room to do their homework. Blake noticed ruby's eyes were constantly dotting back and forth between her homework and the clock. "ruby, are you ok?" Blake asked putting down her book. "huh? Oh yea. I'm fine. Just worried about being up in time for work is all." ruby replied trying to dodge having to explain everything that happened the previous night and why she had arrived at the dorm half scared to death like she had seen a ghost.
Blake narrowed her eyes at ruby. "ruby. You're not telling me something. What is it?" Blake asked accusingly. Ruby sighed. "alright. I got a call during the shift saying that the animatronics were prone to walk around at night due to their servos locking up or something. But then it mentioned the bite of 87 where supposedly an animatronic bit off the frontal lobe of a child shutting the place down." ruby replied while continuing to work on her homework. Blake just looked at ruby with horror in her eyes wondering why ruby would ever want to work there. "why would you possibly work there?!" Blake asked with concern in her voice. "Cuz, I need the lien. And Freddy's is the only place that would hire me." ruby replied finishing her homework and rolling over and falling asleep before her shift in a few hours.
Blake just sat there staring at ruby sleeping, wondering why she cared so much about her. Blakes mindscape: "am I- developing feelings for ruby?" she asked herself while staring at ruby. A few hours had passed and Blake and the others were passed out by the time ruby woke up to the sound of her alarm clock. It was time for her shift at Fazura's, getting up out of bed and climbing down quietly as to not wake the others, ruby got dressed in her uniform and was quickly out the door and heading to work.
Arriving at Freddy's a few minutes later ruby sighed before pushing the door open and heading into the building. She walked down the hallway towards the security office, she still had about ten minutes to shift change and she wanted ask Fritz a few things about the job. "hey fritz" she said as she walked into the office. "hey ruby." fritz replied getting ready for shift change. "hey fritz, did you work the night shift at all before me?" she asked him setting her hat on the desk. "uh yea. I did, why?" he replied. "did they ever move? Or try to get into the office?" she asked. "yea. They did." he replied. "did you ever get a phone call recording?" she asked. "no. I didn't." he replied looking at the clock. "well, it's time for shift change. I'll see Ya in morning ruby." he said and with that he walked out of the office and left the building.
A few minutes later the phone rang and the recording began to play.
"Uh, Hello? Hello? Uh, well, if you're hearing this and you made it to day two, uh, congrats! I-I won't talk quite as long this time since Freddy and his friends tend to become more active as the week progresses." "wait what?" "Uh, it might be a good idea to peek at those cameras while I talk just to make sure everyone's in their proper place. You know...
Uh... Interestingly enough, Freddy himself doesn't come off stage very often. I heard he becomes a lot more active in the dark though, so, hey, I guess that's one more reason not to run out of power, right? I-I also want to emphasize the importance of using your door lights. There are blind spots in your camera views, and those blind spots happen to be right outside of your doors." "huh?!" she said with a slight panic while checking the cams. "So, if-if you can't find something, or someone, on your cameras, be sure to check the door lights. Uh, you might only have a few seconds to react... Uh, not that you would be in any danger, of course. I'm not implying that. Also, check on the curtain in Pirate Cove from time to time. The character in there seems unique in that he becomes more active if the cameras remain off for long periods of time. I guess he doesn't like being watched. I don't know. Anyway, I'm sure you have everything under control! Uh, talk to you soon." And with that the message ended and her second night finally began.
Checking the cams, she found bonnie was already gone from the stage and was standing in the parts and service room, Chica had also moved and was standing in the dining room, switching over to the pirates' cove camera she was met with a terrifying sight. Foxy was peeking out of the curtains. Letting out a slight yelp she checked the other cams to find Chica had moved to the right to outside the door. Wasting no time, she slammed the button for the right door closing it instantly.
Switching back to the cams she checked pirate cove to find foxy outside of it and looking like he was heading to the office. Wasting no time, she closed the other door and noticed it was only 3 am with 35% power remaining. She checked the right door light and noticed Chica was gone so she opened the door. "phew." she said to herself before hearing a banging on the left door. "GAH!" she let out a yelp nearly dropping the tablet before the noise stopped and she checked the cams to see foxy back in his cove with the curtains closed, she switched to another cam and found Chica in the parts and service room and bonnie in the dining hall this time.
She opened the left door and checked the cams again. Foxy was still in his cove with curtains closed and bonnie was in the hallway while Chica was in the kitchen. Ruby checked the time to see it was now 5 am with only 10 percent power left. "come on come on." she said to herself over and over. A few seconds later the building was filled with the sound of bells going off, it was 6 am.
Sighing to herself and putting her hat on she walked out of the office and checked everything making sure everything was still the same. The animatronics were all back in their places and fritz was unlocking the door. "night fritz" she said with a wave as she headed back to beacon. "night ruby." he replied walking into the restaurant for his shift.
