Chapter 15:
She had changed her eyes back to their normal color just in time because she heard the police cars coming closer.
"Saved by the cops." She said in an angry growl, "but remember I have a lot of time. My time will come."
Both Mark and Juan were shivering in fear. They thought they were saved when Dan bursts inside, "Where is Trixie?"
"Lucifer is to the hospital with her, Dan." Chloe had still worry in her voice, she hadn't heard anything from Lucifer yet. She knew that they already arrived at the hospital. She placed her hands against his shoulders the moment he noticed the bandits, "I want to hit them as much as you do Dan but let justice take over, they won't escape their punishment."
Dan took a few deep breaths, he knew his ex-wife was right but how could she be so calm about this?
Chloe sensed the question, "I know that the hospital will do everything they can to help her. I know Lucifer would do anything to help her, even if he must go and get an expert in another country."
"Take them out of my sight," Dan growled towards two cops, who had received the keys from Chloe.
"Yes, please, keep her away from us!" Juan said while they passed Chloe. This made Dan frown, he was used to these reactions when they had a meeting with Lucifer but this was Chloe in front of them.
"Are you here with your car?" Chloe asked Dan curiously.
Dan shook his head, "No, I came with the cops. Why?"
"Well, why don't you come with me to the hospital, Lucifer is already there. I want to go as soon as possible." Chloe answered.
"Did Lucifer drive with you in the same car?" Dan suddenly asked.
"Yes, why?" Chloe asked before it dawned on her that she had no explanation how Lucifer went to the hospital in the first place, "Look Dan this is not to the time nor the place to worry about that. Lucifer has taken her to the hospital in the fastest way he knows. That's all you need to know."
"Okay, I will leave it for today but one day I want to know the truth about what has happened here, Chloe. They looked as if they had seen a ghost or even better the devil in person." Dan said before leaving the barn.
"Not only the devil," Chloe whispered while going after him.
The drive towards the hospital was silent. Both Chloe and Dan were too worried to have small talks.
Lucifer was pacing around in the waiting room when Trixie's parents arrived.
Chloe hurried to her boyfriend and snuggled in his arms, she was trying to stay strong, "any news?"
Lucifer shook his head, "I tried all my tricks but they can't say anything yet. They would send the doctor when he has news." The devil held his hand against Chloe's head, letting it rest against his shoulder while he caressed her hair. They stayed that way for several minutes when someone cleared his throat.
"Are you the parents of Beatrice Espinoza? I am Doctor Johnson." the doctor, who had just entered the waiting room, asked in a soft voice.
"Is there news?" Chloe asked immediately still snuggled in Lucifer's side. Dan was silent but fear was obvious in his eyes, even Lucifer looked worried. He wouldn't admit it but he had grown fond of the little urchin.
"Well yes, she was one lucky girl. Not only did she arrive just in time but she also had a very rare reaction to the poison. She got a strange green spot on the place where they injected her. I have only seen one other patient like that in my entire life so I knew what I needed to look for." Doctor Johnson explained.
"What poisoned her? Is she going to be okay?" Dan suddenly asked, stepping beside Chloe and Lucifer.
"We were able to give her the antidote so she will be fine. She will be waking up soon. The poison is called 'the devil's mark'" The doctor said who didn't see the flash of red that covered Lucifer's usual brown eyes.
"Excuse me? The devil's mark?" Lucifer asked shocked. Chloe placed her hand on Lucifer's arm. She sensed his anger.
"I have nothing to do with all of this." He said angrily. Luckily nobody in the hospital looked weird when he said something like this. Lucifer was well known because of how much financial support he gave through the years he was on earth.
"Easy babe. That's not what the doctor meant." Chloe whispered.
"Lucifer this isn't the time for you devil talk, okay!" Dan almost yelled, "This isn't a situation to mock with."
"I am not laughing with this, Daniel. I am taking this very seriously." Lucifer growled. The devil was already on edge, he could miss Dan's comments like he could miss Hell.
"Can we see her?" Chloe asked interfering between the two men.
"Yes I will take you to her but only one parent can stay here. The others can visit for 5 minutes." The doctor stayed polite even after the bickering between Dan and Lucifer.
"Love, why don't you and Dan stay with the urchin. He can stay a night and the next night you stay with her." Lucifer whispered.
"Are you okay with that?" Chloe asked curiously, "Wait what are you up to?"
"You can't leave the little urchin on her own, my dear. I know someone who needs to be punished for what he did." Lucifer kissed Chloe's temple lovingly, "I will probably be home in a few hours max."
Chloe sighed she knew she couldn't stop her boyfriend even if she wanted to. She would have loved to see him crawl away from the sight of his devil appearance but Trixie was more important now than her own wishes. She would get her moment if she could convince Lucifer to take her down with him when the time came, knowing that he was against taking her down with him. Queen or not it wasn't a place for his love to be, that's what he always said. In his eyes, she was still too good to go to Hell.
"Dan, why don't you go home and rest. I will take the first few hours and you can have the first night with her." Chloe looked at her ex.
"Alright but I want to know every little thing that changed good and bad," Dan said with a stern voice.
"I promise you, I will update every small thing that happens, Dan. If you promise to do the same thing for me when you are here." Chloe countered back, she wasn't happy that her ex would think that she would withhold information from him. She thought he knew her better than that.
"Of course, Chloe," Dan said before he followed the doctor to see his daughter for a few minutes before letting Chloe with her.
"Go with them, love. I will come to you as soon as I am back." Lucifer said before he gave her a quick peck on the lips.
Chloe nodded and went after Doctor Johnson and Dan. She looked one more time at her devil.
Lucifer looked until Chloe disappeared around a corner. The soft and comforting attitude changed the moment he was alone. His face was now hard and cold. It had been decades that one miserable human being had made him this angry. He turned around and walked at a quick pace out of the hospital. He walked straight to the ally where had touched the ground when he had Trixie in his arms earlier today. He rolled his shoulders back to open his wings and took off. He didn't need help to punish him. He was going to do this alone.
The flight towards La Rabra took only a mere minute for Lucifer. He touched the ground behind a building near the villa of Ramzi. He walked towards the gate which was heavily guarded.
"Stop! Turn around and start walking or we will make you." One of the guards yelled.
"Give me your best shot." Lucifer grinned evilly before he started walking towards them without losing eye contact with the first humans in his path. The guards didn't hesitate though and opened fire but Lucifer didn't stop.
"Who are you?" one guard asked in fear.
"What are you?" The other one asked shocked about the fact that they shot him point blank and not only was the man still standing up but there was no blood visible.
"Your worst nightmare!" Lucifer growled with a demonically low before he smashed the two heads together. The devil stepped over the bodies without a second glance and walked towards the large wooden door.
It was a new door after his first visit to Ramzi, "What a waste of money." Lucifer smashed the door into a million pieces. This caught the attention of another guard, he aimed the gun at Lucifer and started shooting. The bullets touched the devil's chest and bounced off while he walked slowly towards the guard, who start walking backward, fear visible in his eyes until the wall stopped him.
Lucifer lifted him off the ground, "now, you are going to tell me where I can find your boss. I need to have a talk to him and maybe just maybe I will let you live." The man didn't know Lucifer wasn't allowed to kill humans and the devil wasn't going to tell him that either.
"He is in the dining room, sir." The guard couldn't help but say. He didn't know who was in front of him but whoever it was he was dangerous and angry.
It didn't take Lucifer long to find the dining room. His face was all when he pushed against the closed door. The door flew against the opposite wall of the room.
"What the…" said Ramzi shocked, "You again!" he yelled the moment he saw Lucifer walking in.
"Yes, me again, you messed with the wrong devil." Lucifer responded, "Oh that right, there is only one of me."
"I have nothing to say to you." Ramzi countered back.
"I have something to say to you and you will listen to what I have to say! You think you are an evil man right? To bad for you because I am so much worse when I am pissed off. Let me tell you, Ramzi I enraged." Lucifer threw the 10 feet long, heavy wooden table against the wall like it weight nothing at all before walking towards him.
Ramzi wanted to yell for his guards but was stopped when Lucifer changed his handsome human form in that of his monstrous Devil side. The rich sheik was shocked, looking in fear as he looked at the burned skin, massive claws, and huge bat-like wings. Red eyes, cold as ice yet fire of hell dancing inside watched the rich man.
The devil lifted Ramzi out of his chair with only one hand around his throat, claws buried in his neck making the man bleed but not enough to die.
"You thought I wouldn't find out that you were taking revenge did you?" Lucifer asked in a demonically low voice. A voice that brought shivers all over Ramzi's body.
"I am curious what my demons will do to you when they found out you almost killed the daughter of their queen." Lucifer continued.
"Who says I will see you again," Ramzi said with his last courage.
"I am the king of the underworld, you idiot. No matter what you will end up with me. I may have different names but in the end, there is only one punisher of evil. Me!" Lucifer growled before throwing the man against the wall.
"What are you going to do to me?" Ramzi felt his courage leave his body.
"It's not what I am going to do to you, Ramzi but what they will do." Lucifer snapped his fingers and 3 seventeen hands tall wolf-like creatures appeared. Their fur was pitch-black with flaming tales. Their fangs were large and razor-sharp. The hunger was visible in their red eyes.
"No, please you can't do this," Ramzi yelled in fear.
Lucifer grinned evilly, "Oh, yes I can. dinner time my babies."
The hounds jumped on Ramzi tearing the man limb from limb until not even the smallest spot of blood was visible anymore.
"Now off you pop." Lucifer snapped his fingers and the hounds disappeared again.
Three hours later in the hospital in Los Angeles.
Chloe was dozing off the moment Lucifer walked into Trixie's room. To his delight, he saw two eyes looking at him, "Lucifer." the small girl said in a whisper, "You did save me."
"I will always save you, urchin." Lucifer smiled softly.
Lucifer's voice woke up his queen and was greeted by, "Hi mommy."
"Trixie, you are awake!" Chloe smiled happily before hugging her daughter.
Lucifer watched the encounter with a smile before going to get the doctor.
It took another two weeks before Trixie was cleared from the hospital. She was one of the few children in the world ever to survived the devil's mark.
Chloe never asked what had happened with Ramzi, the less she knew the better in this case.
