Since I have been rather free because of the community quarantine, I can now update my story. To my fans and supporters, I salute you for bearing with me, even though I'm really going through tough times right now, I'm not saying this so you can pity me or anything, I just need to say it, it makes me feel a little better to think that I can give people joy or some entertainment. Anyways enough of the sentimentality, you guys came here to read my damn story to enjoy hahahaha… so here we go. I thank you again to those that take the time to read my, the author's, notes haha. Previously…
The unknown person was none other than Sarah cutely pouting…
Now…
"Ara, Ara… Is my cute little Sarah looking for some attention?" Teased Carah to her daughter, covering her mouth with her hand.
"N-No I'm not! W-Why should I be s-seeking attention from Meliodas? Hmph…" Sarah quickly denied while her face was a little red and she was crossing her arms.
"But I didn't mention any names though? Much less saying that it was the attention of Meliodas you were looking for," Carah further continued her teasing on her daughter.
Sarah noticed her slip up and blushed even more, her face was beet red and she was stuttering, trying to form a response from the blunder that she made.
"I-I… I-I…," Sarah stuttered, no words were coming out from her mouth…
Carah just leaned closer to her stuttering daughter, "Hmm… Sarah…?"
Sarah turned around and quickly ran away.
"Mama, you big meanie! I hate you!" shouted Sarah while crying, her arms trying to wipe away her tears falling down her eyes.
"…"
"…"
"…"
Silence was heard by the three.
"Anyways-," Carah said while turning around. "Going back to what we were talking about."
Meliodas and Sam just sweat dropped at the exchange of the mother-daughter duo.
A few minutes later…
"You want a ship?" Sam asked while raising an eyebrow. "And a big one at that. Where will you get crew mates? And do you even have the money to buy one?" Sam asked, skeptical of Meliodas's orders.
"Yes, I want a ship and a big one at that. As for the crew mates, I'll manage it somehow." Meliodas answered Sam's questions.
"And as for the money…"
"Here," Meliodas threw a bag of coins at Sam.
"Ehh?!" Sam panicked to catch the bag of coins.
Sam managed to catch it but…
"Oof…" The weight of the bag of coins managed to caught him off guard, and thus making him squat a little. "Dear, are you ok? You want me to help you with that?" Carah asked, worrying about her husband.
"Don't worry Honey, I can do this… myself," Sam said while sounding out of breath.
Sam then slowly but surely tried to put the bag of coins on a nearby table to lessen the burden of carrying it. He then stopped and panted for a while, "What is… *pant* *pant* …inside of that bag? " He questioned.
Sam then opened the bag and, he and his wife, couldn't help but be surprised at what was inside the bag and gawk at it… They both gawked at it for a good 5 minutes before Meliodas coughed, breaking them out of their daze and gaining their undivided attention.
"So… When do you start?"
After talking about the ship that Meliodas wanted, Sam excused himself and went inside his workshop. That left Carah alone with Meliodas.
"You want to fight?" Meliodas asked.
They were inside the Fortune house, as Carah wanted to talk to Meliodas about some things, but she just wanted some company and it be rude not to offer her guest/costumer some tea.
All of those happened which led to their current predicament.
"Not really a fight, but more of a spar and plus, I can use the exercise. I just wanted to see for myself what your capabilities are. You may look young but I have seen a lot of people, since I build the best guns here at Bilgewater, and I know what veteran fighters look like when I see one and plus, I have seen you dispatch those skeletons like they were nothing." Carah said, looking skeptically at Meliodas. Her body tensing to react to any sudden movements from Meliodas.
Meliodas just stared at Carah, commending her in his thoughts that she managed to deduce those from just observing Meliodas.
"Are you one of those "Child Assassins"?"
"Child Assassins?" Meliodas asked confused about the term.
"From your confused reaction, I guess you're not then…" Carah said, relieved that Meliodas wasn't one of the Child Assassins. "Sorry about that… I got a little tense when I thought you were one."
"So, how about it? Would like to take my offer in having a spar?" Carah said while having the sweetest smile she could give, changing topics clearly, like the tense atmosphere earlier didn't even occur.
Meliodas sighed, "Fine… But answer me this, what are the Child Assassins you spoke of?"
"Well, the Child Assassins I spoke of are children that are trained at a very young age to assassinate people and also provide military personnel in the near future by the warring countries. I thought you were one judging from your capabilities but I guess I was wrong haha." Carah explained.
"Well, I've already explained what I know, so let's go out to the open ground." Carah said enthusiastically.
*Sigh* "This is going to be a long day." Meliodas murmured, looking tiredly at Carah as she pulls him away.
Meliodas was dragged by Carah to the forrest and soon found an open area where they were preparing to spar.
Carah did some stretches as Meliodas just stared at her. "So, when are we going to start? He asked.
"Hold on just a minute, need to do some light stretches." Carah said as she continued with her stretches.
Meliodas just waited for her to finish, and decide to look around their surroundings.
They were inside an open area which had the shape of a circle that was surrounded by trees making it a good area for fighting.
"Just a few more."
"Aaaaaand…"
"Done!"
"Alright, I'm done stretching," Carah said feeling refreshed, as she looked at Meliodas crouching down, just looking at the ground playing with a stick.
"Finally." Meliodas said sounding bored. "Can we start?"
Carah just looked amused.
Then she smiled…
The sound of a gun was heard in the forest…
