Chapter 3-Feelings
"Ginny I…." ,Harry's voice caught.
Ginny sighed. "Go." ,she said.
"I….Ginny…..But….Really?" ,Harry asked.
"Yes." ,Ginny whispered.
When Harry gave her a doubtful look she continued, "Harry remember at the end of your 6th year?"
Harry cleared his throat, "At….Dumbledore's funeral?" ,he said watching his words.
"Yes. When you broke up with me. Remember? Ginny said guilt tripping him.
"Yes." ,Harry said giving Ginny a guilty grimace.
"Well, remember when I told you how part of the reason I love you so much is because of your heroic personality?" ,Ginny asked.
"Yes." ,Harry admitted, "You told me that part of the reason that you liked me so much was because I couldn't be happy without hunting down Voldemort."
"Well, that's how I know that you're going to make the right choice." ,then Ginny left.
That night Harry and Ginny thought it might be best to tell the children. So at dinner they let the cat out of the bag.
…..
"Your daddy…." ,Ginny had started first, "Is going on an adventure."
"It's not official yet." ,Harry cut in, "I'm just going to meet a person. Okay?"
Lily who was 5 years old stayed quiet but gave a small smile. Albus who was 2 years old was bouncing on Ginny's lap looking confused.
James who was 10 had a different reaction. "What!" ,he complained, "I want to go with dad!" He lifted an invisible sword. "To conquer evil and journey fourth! Can I dad! Please?" ,he begged.
Overall Harry had though that it went better than he thought. And although James had begged and begged until Ginny threatened to take away his broom, Harry was definitely not taking him.
…
Late at night, Ginny had woken up to a quiet "mum". Harry was washing up in the bathroom so Ginny beckoned her to Harry's side of the bed.
"Lily, hon. You should be asleep." ,she told Lily gently.
"I know mommy but….." ,Lily paused.
"Yes hon? ,Ginny asked her.
Trembling slightly Lily asked Ginny her question, "Is daddy going to die?"
"No, sweet hon. Daddy's not going to…." ,Ginny's voice hitched. And she pulled Lily closer. When she pulled back Lily was fast asleep.
