4 Months Later:
Olivia took a deep breath. She was three weeks early but given that she refused to start maternity leave until her water broke, she was okay with that. Her contractions were steady at 6 minutes apart. She was adamant about working until the last second, and that last second was now. "Fin, I need you to go take over the crime scene where Elliot is and have him meet me at the hospital. Amanda can you take me? I don't want to listen to anyone bitch about me driving myself." Olivia said and Amanda helped her with her bags and to the car and Fin took off to meet Elliot and Nick.
"Are you excited?" Amanda asked her.
"Yeah but I'm nervous. I've always wanted this but I was worried about what my child would be like because of my parents. It was actually Elliot like seven or eight years ago that told me I turned out great given my circumstances. He always rooted for me to be a mom no matter what," she explained with a small smile on her lips.
"I don't know how you're going to handle it Liv. I mean three kids under ten. You're only saving grace is that the twins are about to graduate and Elliot's other kids are grown." Amanda reminded her.
"I didn't expect any of this. Especially the accident last month. That was horrible. I would never wish that on anyone. Elliot's kids have been through so much Amanda. Losing Kathy like that they didn't deserve it. Not after the close call when Eli was born."
"What close call?" Amanda asked her.
"We were working a case when Kathy was close to her due date. Elliot had bonded with the dad so he felt like he had to be the one to talk him down and I volunteered to take Kathy to her prenatal appointment. A drunk driver ran a lift and t-boned us on Kathy's side. She was pinned and went into labor. I had to stabilize her because of how the cars had collided and it was bad. She crashed in the ambulance and I was sitting there holding a wailing newborn. I didn't even know his name yet. I was so worried that Elliot would be mad at me and blame me for the accident. I was so scared that Kathy wasn't going to make it and for her to die in an accident just like that it's scary. I don't know if Elliot and I would've survived if she had died that day." She said honestly. It's something she'd thought a lot about since the accident that had claimed Kathy's life last month.
They made it in record time and Olivia was checked in and taken back to L & D. "Amanda what's wrong?" Olivia asked changing into the hospital gown.
"I'm pregnant. I didn't plan this. I just don't know if I can handle it then I see you and how you've turned into this Wonder Woman with Noah and now Eli. I just think if you can do this I know I can." Amanda said rambling.
"I'm assuming it's Carisi's?"
"If I say yes it means we can't be partners anymore doesn't it?"
"Yeah. I'll put you with Fin. How far along are you?" She asked the blonde woman as she got into bed.
"About six weeks." Amanda admitted. "What do you think Elliot will say?"
"You don't need to worry about Elliot. He agreed with me about you and Carisi. He won't say anything. You're not far enough along yet to make him worry. I'll be back before you go on leave so it will all work out." Olivia reassured her. "Anytime you want first hand experience you're more than welcome to come over." Olivia said with a smile. "I was actually talking with El the other night and we decided that we want you to be her godmother." Olivia added.
"Are you sure?" Amanda asked barely above a whisper.
"Yes. El is talking to Nick about being her godfather." Olivia confirmed.
"Why us?" Amanda asked wiping a couple of stray tears.
"Come here." Olivia said, patting the open sliver of bed next to her and Amanda sat down and Olivia took on of her hands in hers. "You and Nick barely knew El when I was abducted and you both risked everything to make sure that no one knew what had happened. You didn't have to do that but you did knowing what could potentially happen. You're a part of the reason she's even able to be here." Olivia added trying not to cry but was failing since Amanda was all ready crying.
"Thank you Liv." She said and sniffled. "It was an easy decision though. Helping you guys. When Elliot showed up at the house looking for you I could see it in his face, the panic. I knew then it had definitely been more than a partnership. I didn't know how much more but I knew." Amanda said with a small smile.
Before she could say anything else Elliot walked in. "Are you okay?" He asked and she smiled. Amanda quickly vacated the bed and grabbed the chair. Elliot say where Amanda had been and leaned down and gently kissed Olivia's lips.
"I'm okay my water hasn't broke yet." She said when they parted.
"I love you." He said and she smiled.
"I love you too." She replied kissing him again.
"Thank you for driving her." Elliot said to Amanda when they parted.
"You're welcome. I um have something to tell you." She said nervously.
"How bad?"
"It's not bad well depending on how you look at it. I'm pregnant." She said almost jumbling her words.
"I'm going to have to swap your partner aren't I?" He asked and she nodded. Elliot just shook his head. "What is it with SVU partners and getting together?" He mused.
"This wasn't planned. I just want you to know that. Hell I don't even know if Carisi and I will even stay together or just raise the baby together. But it won't interfere with work." She reassured him. "But I'm going to hold down the fort and make sure the squad doesn't bombard you until you're ready."
"And she's out." The doctor said and Olivia sagged against Elliot. He kissed her damp head and she tried to catch her breath. The nurse passed her to Olivia to hold and Elliot was in awe looking at Olivia holding their daughter. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the flash knowing that Maureen had taken a picture. Elliot leaned down and kissed the crook of Olivia's neck and eased out from behind her. He quickly washed his hands then walked over to the nurse and grabbed the pair of scissors from her and cut the umbilical cord.
Olivia reluctantly handed her over to the nurse to be cleaned and checked out. She had a dark head of hair and Elliot's blue eyes. "She's 8lbs 11oz and 21 inches." The nurse said and Elliot couldn't help but smirk.
"She's got your eyes and probably your height." Olivia stated.
"She's going to have your attitude." He reminded her.
"Do we have a name yet?" The nurse asked them and handed her to Elliot and Maureen took more pictures.
"Kind of." Maureen answered for them and Elliot chuckled then put the camera down. "I'm going to update everyone in the waiting room. As much as I love you," she said and pointed to her father, "no more kids." She said with a slight chuckle.
"How many do you have?" The nurse asked them.
"Seven. He has five from his first marriage and we adopted a little boy right before we found out we were pregnant." Olivia answered. "The one that just left is the oldest, Maureen. She's a Sane nurse over at Mercy." She added with pride in her voice.
"That's a houseful." The nurse said with awe. "He's looking at her like she's his first born." She commented to Olivia as she helped her get situated in the bed. "You did well my dear, I can't believe this was your first time."
"She helped deliver my second youngest son. This was her first time on this side." Elliot said with pride in his voice.
"I'm going to give you guys some privacy. When you're ready for us to take her to the nursery let me know. Oh I meant to ask are you breastfeeding?"
"I'm going to pump exclusively. It's just easier with my work schedule." Olivia answered. It wasn't just because of work though. It was mainly because of the scars that littered her chest from Lewis's torture.
"I'll make the arrangements." The nurse said with a smile before leaving the room.
"So I was thinking of her name." Olivia said and Elliot smiled as he looked down at his youngest daughter. "Elena for her middle name." She told him.
"Elena?" He asked looking up at her. He walked over to the side of the bed and sat down.
"A mix of Elliot and Serena." She explained.
"I like it. What about her first name?"
"Callie."
"For Alex and Casey I presume?"
"Yes." She confirmed.
"Callie Elena Benson-Stabler." He said with a smile. "She looks like you." He told her.
"She's got your eyes." Olivia added.
"She's going to be the death of me. I can all ready see it." He chuckled and Olivia giggled.
There was a gentle knock on the door and Amanda came in followed by the kids. Eli ran straight to Olivia and crawled in the bed then he hugged her neck as tight as he could. "I missed you." He said, hiding in her chest.
"I missed you too but someone had to keep Noah company." She reminded him. She looked up and Maureen was getting ready to hand Noah over to her and Eli curled into her side to make room for him. "Hey sweet boy." Olivia cooed.
"Okay, everyone get together for a picture." Amanda called out and Elliot sat on the edge of the bed, almost squishing Eli so he moved to the end of the bed and Olivia held Noah in her arms. The other Stabler children gathered on each side of the bed. "One, two, three." Amanda called out and the flash went off. She took several shots of the large family.
The month home was hectic to say the least. There was no such thing as a schedule and Olivia really had to hand it to Kathy Stabler. How she managed four kids under 10, two of which were twins was beyond her. She wished she could ask the other woman for advice. She was thankful that Elliot had taken paternity leave to help her.
When her alarm went off Olivia jumped up. Callie was still asleep, or so she thought. She knew Eli and Noah had spent the night at Nick's. When she got up she padded into the nursery but found no Callie. She then followed the sounds of the television.
She found Elliot snoozing on the couch with Callie on his chest, arms gently and protectively wrapped around her. She quietly started picking things up and putting them in their proper places. When that was done she made a pot of coffee and drank a rather large cup, very quickly. When she heard her daughter start to whimper she gently picked her up, placing her on her chest and soothing her before her wails disturbed Elliot. He had gone back to work the week before but was off today.
Once she was calmed down Olivia placed her in her crib and left the nursery door cracked. She heard her phone vibrating on the nightstand and went to check it and she smiled at the message. Casey and Alex had finally come home. She buzzed them into the building and opened the front door, greeting them in the hallway motioning for them to be quiet when they came inside.
Olivia let out a smirk when she saw Elliot. He changed his position to his hand over his head, and his other one on his chest while he slept. "He was up with her all night." Olivia whispered to them.
"So you refused to tell us her name until we were here. That makes no sense." Casey said pointedly.
"And you gave everyone instructions not to reveal the name. That also makes no sense." Alex added and Olivia smiled.
"I wanted you guys here in person for a reason. But you cannot tell, scream or cry because she is asleep and I will kill you if you wake her." Olivia warned them. "Her name is Callie Elena Benson-Stabler."
"The Elena is after Elliot and your mother right?" Alex asked and Olivia nodded in confirmation.
"I'm not trying to sound narcissistic here but it sounds like the Callie is a play on my name and Alex's name." Casey pointed out.
"That's because it is. Now do you understand why I wanted you here in person?" She asked them and she could tell both ladies were fitting back squeals of joy. "Now we let her sleep." Olivia whispered and they left the nursery. They walked into the living room as Elliot woke up confused as to where his daughter was. "I put her down in the crib." Olivia said rounding the corner and he relaxed. "Her namesakes finally showed." She said and he got up to give them each a hug.
"I always knew you two would make beautiful babies." Casey said and Elliot just chuckled.
"I really thought the marriage was a sham." Alex said. "As much as I was rooting for you both I thought it was to protect Elliot. I figured he went all caveman on Lewis and was the one that beat him."
"That may have been why we got married but it doesn't lessen our feelings. We would've gotten married eventually so it really doesn't matter when it happened. We were partners for 12 years. If we could survive that long I think we're good." Olivia said then smirked.
"You both are insane. How in the hell you know what never mind. Some things are better left to the imagination." Casey said shaking whatever mental image she'd pictured out of her head. "I can't wait until I get to babysit." Casey said excitedly and Olivia just shook her head.
"It'll be a while." She and Elliot answered in unison.
"We were barely able to leave her with Maureen for a couple hours last week." Elliot added. He pulled Olivia close to him and put an arm around her waist. Both Casey and Alex couldn't help the look that appeared on their faces. "What?" He asked them.
"Everyone just waited so long for you guys to get together it's weird seeing you like this and not as partners. I've just got to get used to it." Alex explained.
"Ditto." Casey said and Olivia rolled her eyes. Elliot groaned when his phone rang. He begrudgingly went to go answer it. "So is it everything you imagined it would be?" Casey asked in a hushed giggle.
"Better. So much better." Olivia answered. "I feel like I'm home. I mean I've always felt like that with him but it's so much more. Even though he left he came when I needed him most. I'll never be able to thank him for what he's done for me. Giving me the family I always wanted and so much more." Olivia finished.
"I really think we should've locked you two in a room years ago," Casey mused and Olivia rolled her eyes. "We're going to let you bask in the glow of newborn. She's beautiful though Liv." Casey added hugging her. Alex followed suit and the ladies left the apartment. Olivia locked the door behind them and shook the small smile off her lips. She walked into the bedroom as Elliot hung up his phone.
"Everything okay?" She asked him and he nodded.
"I have to go to the commissioner's office to explain my reasoning for demanding to keep Carisi and Rollin's in the same unit." He said wrapping his arms around her waist. "You know we weren't even together back then and we made Cragen's life very difficult. Maybe I should suggest that when Carisi get's his law degree he jump to the DA's office. Just to be safe." He added and leaned down to kiss her gently on the lips. "I love you so much Liv. I'm so sorry I had my head up my ass back then."
"I love you too." She replied, kissing him again. "El, two more weeks." She groaned against his lips. "Well for me," she said teasingly. She nuzzled kisses along his jaw then down his neck. She kissed the smattering of chest hair poking through the opening in his shirt. She kissed her way down his chest, then dropped to her knees. She hadn't felt safe enough to do this before but now, with him, she could. "The doctor didn't say you had to abstain." She smirked as she unbuttoned his jeans and unzipped them. He hooked his fingers into his boxers and slid them down then stepped out of them.
Olivia grasped his hardening erection and he hissed her name, trying to be quiet. She looked up at him through her lashes and took him in her mouth, keeping her hand around the part of his length that she couldn't accommodate. She moved her hand in sync with her head, bobbing up and down. Elliot twisted his fingers in her hair, trying to be gentle. He was damn lucky his back was against the wall. "Jesus Christ Liv," he half hissed and yelled. She took him in as far as she could, the tip hitting the back of her throat. She looked up at him and caught his gaze, making it even more erotic. Elliot felt his balls tighten and he felt like a teenager getting his first blowjob. He came in her mouth, and bit his hand to keep from shouting her name. Olivia swallowed his seed and pulled back, gently kissing the tip of his penis before standing up. "That was incredible." He said taking her in his arms. "You didn't have to do that."
"I know but just because I haven't been cleared yet doesn't mean you have to wait."
"Well to float your ego that was the best I've ever had and to let you in on a little secret, that was only my third one of those." He said pulling up his pants and buttoning them then finding a shirt while Olivia walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth.
"You've got to be kidding." She said, spitting out the water toothpaste mixture as he walked into the bathroom. "I did wonder about that sometimes." She admitted when she finished brushing her teeth.
"What else did you wonder about over the years?" He asked leaning against the counter, arms crossed his chest with a smirk on his face.
"You're such an emotional person, I just wondered what it would be like after a rough case or a bad fight we'd had if you'd take out all the anger and frustration in bed and we'd be fine afterwards."
"Oh we definitely would've had angry sex probably at work but I've always felt more comfortable with you so I also wouldn't bottle everything up inside like I did either. But we're here now and maybe we can act out some of our fantasies once you've been cleared." He said placing his hands on her hips and pulling her to him. "While I go to 1PP do you want to show Callie off at work?" He asked walking into the closet and putting on a suit.
"I think I'm going to actually cook dinner for us. You go see the commissioner and me, Callie and the boys will be waiting for you." She said with a small smile. "I'm not ready to rejoin the world just yet." She smirked.
"Motherhood looks amazing on you Liv. I always knew it would." He told her, wrapping himself around her. "Watching you with my kids Liv, I always wanted you to have that but I was going to be jealous as hell if I wasn't the one who made that happen."
"Really?" She asked, one eyebrow raised.
"Really. I wanted it to be you and me. If you had decided to go the way of sperm donation I swear I would've demanded you use mine."
"That would've been so fucked up." She told him. "I can only imagine what Kathy would've said or Cragen. No one would've believed that it was done in a doctors office. It would've confirmed everyone's suspicions that we were together."
"Fuck what everyone else thinks. When it comes to you, I'm always going to make sure you're okay no matter where I am or what I'm doing. I'll always be there for you Liv. I promised you then and I promise you now. Semper fi Mrs. Stabler." He said softly, leaning down to kiss her on the lips.
"Semper fi Mr. Stabler." She said leaning up to kiss him on the lips, then leaning into his chest, letting out a content sigh.
A/N: Sorry this took so long. I had hand surgery again and just got back to being able to type.
