Written for Quidditch League Fanfiction Competition season 9- Round 3

Position: Seeker

Harry Potter, the chosen one, the golden boy, the boy who lived and all the other titles. It was none other than Harry who at the moment was in his four poster bed. He was reading a book about dark magic, taken from the restircted area of the library, in the pitch black night with a Lumos lighting his vision to properly read his book.

He had been getting more and more cooped up and closed off for a few weeks now. Being in second year, Harry did not want a repetition of last year, specially that he had another five years at Hogwarts. His only goal was to defeat Voldemort for once and for all, and he forgot everything and everyone else to achieve this goal.

At first, it went considerably unnoticed by others. Then Hermione had to nag Harry more than she usually had to do to have him finish his assignments. It took her two weeks and three days to finally give up on him, letting him be. His assignments were ranged between poorly solved, submitted later than their due dates, or missing. His grades started slipping downhill, and he got detentions to make up for the missing work as a result.

Professor McGonagal was furious, and Harry knew it well. Harry knows he used to be her best student, taking highest grades with a good amount of striving. Now however, he barely put any effort and was barely passing. He did not care though. He focused on practicing dark spells, light spells, and any other charm or curse that might make him stronger. Harry was putting his very best into this, and there was no one to stop him. Even his best friends.

Weeks passed, and it was a shock that Harry James Potter had actually failed a class. It was potions, so Snape took pleasure in it. Harry gave the professor no mind regarding the snide remarks here and there, he just... let it be. That, infuriated the potions master. He expected Potter to be disappointed, and probably put some more effort into his work. However, Harry showed none of this. He kept his rebellious behaviour up and striving.

Then Harry started hearing the hisses followed by the random petrified individuals... and ghost. It was unusual, the hissing, and no one believed him. It did not help that his best friends said that maybe he needed rest. It didn't help that most of the school thought he was related to the strange occurrence. Some thought he was neglecting his work to perform dark magic and get rid of students he did not like. No matter what he replied, no matter how logical and obvious it was that he was not connected to what was happening, no one cared. No one belived. All they viewed him in his mind was a copy of his father's mischief and his mother's intelligence along with the perfect image of a saviour. The big question is how they expect him to be all of their expectations at once.

Harry resumed on drifting apart from people, getting more and more isolated, less and less disturbed by snarky remarks about his performance from Snape, and Malfoy's consistant want to degrade Harry. He was getting better much better at magic, and the only class he was still doing great with was Professor Flitwick's class and sometimes McGonagal's classes as long as it was a spell to perform rather than a paper to write.

A couple more weeks, Harry failed his second class, History of Magic. He hated that class anyways.

His ambition lies in vanquishing and only vanquishing Voldemort. After that, he will find himself another passion. Of course, little did Harry know that his way of achieving this goal with this kind of approach was doing more harm than gain...

Harry discovered the Chamber of Secrets on his own, and he told no one about it.

No one knew

No one knows

No one will ever know

No one should know

No one could know

No one would know.

No one needs to know, because they won't give a damn about a single word he utters. He was going to finish this himself, his way, no matter the consequences.

He was called crazy. Harry failed his third class. Meh... it was the least of his worries. His will to actually pass the year was fading as the will to end the life of his parents' murderer was enhanced. He searched day and read all night, sneaking out sometines, successfully avoiding pefects or professors on their night duties. He would go practice whatever spells he had read about in whatever weird book he managed to aquire.

Here he was, finally in the chamber. He spent a couple months actually studying about the chamber, how it works, what opens it, etc... Luckily, he found out about his parselmouth ability, which will help him open the chamber of secrets. When he unlocked the chamber's main door, Myrtle squealed in delight.

"You will be my avenger! Kill that horrible horrible snake for me!" she said dreamily.

"I am killing it for me, and not for anyone else. However, if you want to imagine that i am taking revenge for you, dream up all you want." He said dryly, jumping down the tunnel.

He ventured a little as he opened doors and passed rooms and corridors, wand clutched tightly in his right hand as if his life depended on it. Wait- his life did depend on it at the moment...

After Ginny went missing, Harry was more determined to finish this case. It was not because he liked Ginny, but because of his immense hatred for Voldemort to actually take a girl hostage. Also, who knew what would happen for her? She could get killed, tortured, made into a squib, or have her soul used as a sacrifice to make his body again. That last one was a little disgusting.

Harry fought that basilisk mercilessly, resolve tight to kill it. However, he was too late to save Ginny. She was killed, but he had no remorse for what happened to her. He didn't pity her, or her family at the matter. His goal was to go forward and just kill Voldemort, anyone who threw themselvs in his way or Voldemort's way got themselves a huge possibility of death.

Harry purposely let Voldemort eat Ginny's soul, letting her fall lifeless, to be able to fight the real him. He tightened his grip on the basilisk fang he tore out of the huge snake's mouth after killing it, and of course made sure his wand was with him.

Needless to say, Harry really did kill Voldemort for good, and no one knew.

Harry chuckled when he saw how worried Hermione was at how he looked. He had some gashes here and there, and the basilisk bite that was healed by Fawks, Dumbledore's pheonix. He answered no one's questions about where he was or why he was in this state... No one knew why he was hurt, no one knew what he had done, no one knew who he fought, no one will ever know...

It was his goal, his ambition. He finally did it. He killed that crazy wizard. No more Voldemort...

After he was healed, he was handed his report card, F. He should repeat the year now.

Snape was the one who gave him the report card, expecting Harry to protest or cry or anything. Harry's head hung low, his dark locks covering his face as his shoulder shook a little. The potions master thought Harry was about to cry, and a smirk graced his lips. It was wiped away as soon as he heard a chuckle, followed by a trail of low, a little sinister looking, laughter.

"What? Have you gone insane, Potter?" Snape said.

Harry shook his head when he stoped laughing. "It is weird that I failed the year, but i don't regret it. I accomplished something much better, something I was born for, something i suffered from. I surprisingly feel no regret, professor." He said, plopping his body back down on the mattress after he finished reading his report card that screamed failing grades.

Harry's twisted ambition took over everything else. He didn't care what happened other than his goal not one bit. It took over everything else, including his studies, his friends, an actual life. Ginny was still missing, dead, but no one knew she was killed. The Chamber of Secrets was still a secret, Harry's secret. Harry had changed, because of a weird ambition that took over everything else, that pushed him to throw everything that was important or not...

A/N: The topic said ambition that takes over everything else, but it wasn't specified. For that, i did it sinister- like. Judge(s), is that allowed because the ambition was not specified??
