Chapter Eight

Age Seven

"Isabella, can you come talk to me, sweetheart?" My Daddy, Charlie, asked me.

"Coming Daddy! Let me put Olive down." I called to him, putting my stuffed wolf from my Godfather, Quileute Chief Billy Black, down on his spot in the bed.

I run down the stairs, nearly tripping on the bottom stair. Daddy is already at the bottom waiting for me, since I am known for accidents. He chuckles as he picks me up and twirls me around. I giggle aloud and enjoy the time we have together. We don't have much of it since he is a busy man with the police department.

He used to come home most nights. Until my mother, Renee, died. He became crazed in finding the people who hurt her.

"Isabella. I have some great news. I think I found a way to get back at the bad people who hurt your mommy."

I am excited to hear that. "Great job, Daddy! When do you get the bad guys?"

He looks down on the ground. "We are moving, Isabella. Our names are going to change. You are no longer Isabella Marie Swan. Your name is going to be Katrina Maria Izzi. My name is no longer Charlie or Charles Geoffrey Swan. My name will be Stephen Mario Izzi. You will help me get into the family of someone important. Please be a good girl and do whatever I need you to do. Including moving away from home."

I looked around. The sunshine did not make me feel better anymore.

Even as a child, I knew I was in trouble.

Back to the present, I think of the years I lost. The years that I was not able to play with my friends.

Jacob and his sisters, Rachel and Rebecca. Embry and Quil.

And the man that I have actually loved since I was six.

The man who is actually my girls' father. We had DNA testing done.

While I have DNA tests for all the men saying they were the girls' father, the true one is my love.

I can't wait to be with him again.

Soon. Agent Benjamin Storm will be here.

And I will really be free.

Until then, I need to have my story right.

I honestly can't wait to figure out who I really am.

"Papa, so good to see you. Thank you for bringing my girls to me."

He smiles in understanding. "You are welcome, my favorite daughter. You have no idea how happy you made me by giving me another beautiful granddaughter to spoil."

I smile a small smile. "I am glad you are happy. I need a hug from my two Princesses. And Eleanor needs to eat. I thought Alistair was bringing her." I tell him.

"I needed to see you. Are you excited about going back to your old life with me?"

I am getting really good at lying. "Of course I am. Where were you thinking of going?" I ask as he hands me Eleanor.

"Well, we can't do big cities. Since we are in Boston, I was thinking somewhere in the middle of the country, say Nebraska or something."

I nod in understanding, getting Eleanor to attach herself. We hear a knockAnother knock is heard and Father opens the door as I explain to Elise what I am doing.

The nurse practitioner, Angela, and Doctor Snow both come in and are happy to see me nursing.

The lawyer Mister Jenks is right behind them, but stays outside when he sees me nursing. Smart man.

"We were looking for baby Eleanor and wanted her to try nursing. Looks like you are already doing an amazing job with that, little one and Mama!" Doctor Snow says.

Angela does not look too happy. I know she has a thing for Alistair and that they have shared a bed together several times. But I know that if it comes down to it, he would choose me every single time.

"Thank you, Doctor Snow. I remember how much of a blessing it was with Elise. I am grateful that Eleanor seems to like it."

He nods in understanding. "I will leave you be. Call me if you need me and I am sorry for your loss, my dear."

I nod, trying to look hurt. "He was an amazing man, but right now, I want to try to enjoy my girls. It is hard enough that my daughter shares her birthday date with the death of such an amazing man." I force tears down my cheeks and my father comes to me.

"Now, now. Don't cry, Princess. Everything will be alright." Father comes closer to me and whispers so nobody can hear. "Great job. Not overly emotional, but just enough to look like you are making a brave face for your girls. Perfect!"

"Angela and I will let you go. We will check in on you soon."

"Thank you, Doctor Snow. Thank you, Angela. You have been amazing today. Thank you for helping bring my daughter into the world. I know you wish you could have done more for Papa Marcus, and I hate my husband's actions. I will call you if I need you. Please come back tomorrow. Enjoy a much needed day off.".

"The funeral home is coming. They will be here in about an hour. No investigation will be done. I will handle that with Mister Jenks." Doctor Snow tells me.

"Thank you, I will make sure Garrett and Alistair know." I reply, then look at Eleanor. "My sweet girl is eating so well. Such a blessing!" I coo.

I assume they leave and Mister Jenks comes in.

"Misses Whitlock, I am sorry to come and bother you at this time, but I need to go over some things with you."

I nod in understanding, covering up Eleanor with a light blanket.

"I wanted you to know that though Mister Marcus Whitlock has passed, his will needs to be gone over. If you want to get it over with, I can wait for you to be done. I am sure Doctor Snow told you the funeral home was on their way."

I nod with a frown on my face. "Thank you for your patience. I know you are a busy man, Mister Jenks. Please give me about twenty minutes and we can meet in the dining room. Papa, I do not want to cook tonight. Can you please order us something to eat? I hate to ask…"

"I already did. You should not be cooking today after giving birth, much less anything else. Tomorrow, we have some help coming. We will figure it out from there," Father says with a kiss on the forehead. It takes everything I have to not pull away.

"Thank you. We will see you soon, Mister Jenks."

He leaves the room and closes the door.

"Is Jasper still here? I have something for everyone to drink," pointing to the glasses of iced tea. "I don't want Elise to drink it. Sweet tea would make her hyper."

Father nods and takes the one that I point to him.

"This tastes amazing, Thank you for thinking of us. I will bring this to Jasper and whoever is guarding him. Who needs these?" He asks. "And some of the food is bound to be here already."

"Jasper, Alistair, Garrett, and since I have six, I guess any guards."

Father nods and takes the drinks into another room.

I finish feeding Eleanor before fixing myself and putting her in her crib in the room. Elise is asleep on the bed next to me. I kiss her forehead, grab my bedroom keys, locking the door after leaving the room.

I walk into the room Jasper is being held in. Father is giving him some tea, which he is drinking.

Alistair and Garrett are also drinking the tea.

The two guards are drinking theirs as well.

Food seems to have been delivered and they are eating. Odd to be eating with a body in the room, but who am I to judge.

My plan is working well.
