Third Person's POV

"Okay, team. So we know she's not in the Empire State Building..."

"We searched Aunty Em's..."

"Scratch that, she can't be there."

"ARGH! Where is she?"

Percy threw down his pencil and buried his head in his hands.

"Hey, it's okay, man," Jason said awkwardly.

"It's just... she has to be in Manhattan. Has to be. But she's not! We checked every monster's lair and source of godly energy!"

"What about..." Hazel said timidly.

(pretend Hazel and Frank were called to Camp Half-Blood from Camp Jupiter)

"Yeah...?" He groaned.

"What about we ask Athena?" She asked.

His head shot up.

"That's a great idea! How come we never thought of it before? Wow, Hazel. Thank you so much!"

Then he raced off to find the Empire State Building, with Chiron galloping behind.

"No, Percy!" he called.

"Why... why not?" Percy panted.

"Because... Athena isn't going to let you see her."

"Why?" He frowned. "Annabeth is her daughter. She must want to see her daughter."

"Because Athena is the one who took her," he whispered.

"What do you mean, Chiron?" Piper asked quizzically. "How come Athena took Annabeth? For like a trip to somewhere or something?"

"Tell them, Chiron," Percy said darkly.

"She.. she is in the past. Lady Athena, she, she wanted Annabeth to reconsider her choice." Chiron stammered.

"What choice? Did Annabeth join a rock band without us noticing?" Leo chuckled nervously.

"Her choice to date me!" Percy shouted angrily. "So now it's my fault!"

Frank wrung his hands and said, "So if we ask Minerva- I mean Athena, then she'll return Annabeth, right? Isn't that good?"

"NO!" Percy faced scrunched up. "Athena is trying to make Annabeth regret her choice! And... she might! But I don't know how she plans on doing that... ARGH! I thought we were over this!"

"Wait. How does Chiron even know about this?" Piper intervened.

"Because Athena told him and he never bothered to tell us. Even though he didn't vow or ANYTHING!" Percy stormed out of the room, his face red.

"Wow..." Jason whispered. "I've never seen him this mad before."

"He... he's just worried about Annabeth... probably," Piper reassured Chiron, but she didn't sound too sure herself.

"Did you see a girl with blonde hair?" Percy asked a naiad. "With a... erm, I don't what she looks like, but, um, Athena?"

"No..." The wispy voice of the naiads came to him.

"Crap! Why did Athena have to do that? She knows I love her!"

"Do you?" A murderous voice echoed, shaking the son of Poseidon.

"A son of Poseidon, come to court my daughter? Do you know how utterly shameful that is? Too blinded, perhaps. I have nothing against you, make no mistake. I will not hurt you. But it is humiliating to have one of my own, my blessed, fall for... someone like him. So she must reconsider. And she has a book, a book about your adventures, that I coincidentally made from your memories."

"Athena?" Percy spun around. "Give my girlfriend back!"

"Oh, your girlfriend, now, is it? Make sure to search... her school, Perseus Jackson, son of Poseidon, Savior of Olympus."

"Her... her school! Gods, I have to tell my friends!" Percy excitedly ran back to the Big House, grinning ear to ear.

"Her school? But I thought you said..."

"Yeah, the Mist, but there should be clues- here, Chiron. Thanks!" The eager young man got off the car, waving at Chiron.

Chiron smiled wistfully, remembering the days when he was a young lad like Percy. The two- Percy and Chiron- had made up easily, both forgiving the other for their harsh decisions.

"Okay, so around here," Percy said, scouting the area.

"Hey, what's that?" Leo called, pointing at a patch of frozen grass. "It's like, a hundred degrees!"

"The opposite of the sun bus..." Percy observed.

"You think there's a moon bus around here somewhere?" Leo joked. "Kidding, kidding!"

"Not a sun bus, but an invention, no doubt. And... your dad!"

Frank frowned. "What does that mean?"

"Your dad, Leo! Hephaestus! He would know about inventions- maybe he can tell us what kind of machine leaves ice!"

"Um, yeah, but wouldn't Athena have made it and not Hephaestus?" Leo asked.

"Oh... I guess you're right."

"Also, it's, um, kinda obvious that it was a time-traveling machine..." Jason said.

"Yeah, but then we could find out more about it and find a way to rescue her!" Percy explained.

"What if she doesn't want to be rescued?" Piper asked.

"I taught you better than that!" A musical voice came floating down.

(lots of goddesses and gods, I know, but this is one of the biggest and most entertaining scandals that Olympus has ever known)

"Lady Venus." Hazel and Frank collapsed into a kneeling position.

"Oh, no need. You see, your Greek comrades know me!" The lady of the doves came swishing down, her hair majestic, blond one second, auburn the next, them caramel, no, brown!

The point was, she was pretty.

Very pretty.

Frank blushed and got to his feet, Hazel following.

"Can you help us find Annabeth?" Percy asked. "How do you even know about this?"

"Why, Percy, all the Olympians know about it, Greek and Roman." Aphrodite winked.

"What!?" Percy exclaimed.

"Oh, aren't you sweet, dearie. This is such a scandal- who knew Athena could be so fun! Will the couple stay together? This is so dreamy..."

"Mom!" Piper said, turning red.

"Oh, I'm sure Percy will appreciate it...no? Alright, then. How sad. But no matter what you think, I love this couple! So I'll give you a clue. Go find Hephaestus! I know, right? Unfathomable. My husband is such a grump, but he decides to participate in breaking apart my one true pairing?"

"Um, okay?" Percy said, racking his brain for an excuse not to start yelling.

"Goodbye, loves! Hope you find Annabeth! Oh, but it'll be so fun if Annabeth decides not t come... oh, Athenaaa? I have wonderful news! Percy is becoming even sweeter..." Her voice faded away.

"So where is Hephaestus?" Jason asked.

As if on cue, a burning owl sprang to life.

A recorded voice said, If you have come this far, then you have a chance, son of Poseidon. You now know that Hephaestus is your best hope. He will tell you how the machine works. If you become... better, then you will not bring shame to my family. None will mock me for allowing such a dolt to enter my lineage, for you have proved yourself worthy. I am helping you, although you may not realize it. Tread carefully, Perseus Jackson. Tread carefully.

GAHHH!

Cliffie- maybe.

I'm not sure.

I know- two chapters in one day!

But the idea was too good to resist.

I didn't have a lot of time, so the timeline is kinda rushed- and short- please forgive me!
