Her greatest achievement

A guest asked for a oneshot of Henry, whilst using Emma's laptop, finds a paper Emma wrote for a community college class on her greatest achievement and she wrote about him. When he finishes reading it, Henry goes and hugs her. He's crying and when she asks why he tells says "I'm glad I came and found you too" and Emma realises he read the paper. Small season 4b or 5a spoilers. Sorry, can't quite remember which!

Minnie Mouse: Please see what I wrote about that topic area on Twitter.

Guest: Isn't that what I just wrote?

Rose: Your note may have been lost with the deleted chapter. I'm afraid I'm not sure I could write that as I can sense some people hating on me for it, sorry!

Guest: See two chapters later lol.

Kiwi: I have no issues with crossovers, but I'm afraid I never watched House so don't know anything about it or Jennifer's character in it. Sorry!

Henry hated writing school reports. They were always on something boring. He knew Theodore Roosevelt was an important president, but Henry wasn't sure how he could turn that importance into a thousand words. Besides, anything he could write about everyone already knew, so what was the point in writing it down? He was the Author for crying out loud! It was his very job to be creative with what he wrote. This style of writing just didn't suit him. He decided to procrastinate and have a nose around his mom's laptop. Maybe she had some juicy case files he could have a sneaky peek at. Henry knew his mom probably kept them all properly secured on her computer at the station with encrypted passwords but it was worth a shot.

Whilst nosing through his mom's computer, Henry found the files she still had from when she did a community college course to get his other mom off her back about keeping up to date with qualifications. He found a file entitled "My greatest achievement" and decided he would have a little read…purely for inspiration for his own report.

For all I know, for some people in this class their greatest achievement might be something huge. Maybe they climbed to the summit of Mount Everest or Kilimanjaro. Maybe they sailed right around the world or went round it in a hot air balloon in eighty days. Maybe they singlehandedly took down the mafia or the Russian mob. Maybe they have a secret identity and by night they rid the streets of crime. Heck, for all I know maybe they ran for president. My greatest achievement may not seem quite as grand as any of these things, but none the less it is what I am most proud of in my life. My greatest achievement is my son, my one and only child, Henry.

Henry was very taken aback by this. His mom thought he was her greatest achievement? He was touched. He decided to read on.

True, I didn't raise him and I can't take the credit for the first ten years of his life. But the day he came and found me was the best day (and best birthday) of my entire life. I'm so glad he had the courage to travel miles to a different state (although like Hell is he pulling a stunt like that again). If he hadn't, we may never have been reunited, and I can't imagine my life without my son in it. I love Henry to the moon and back, and would do anything for him. He is more courageous and kind hearted than most adults I know and I could not be more proud. This is why my son, Henry Daniel Mills, is my greatest achievement.

Henry could feel his eyes getting watery. He quickly wiped them with the back of his hand. He got up from the laptop and walked through to the living room, where his mom was.

"Hey kid. Taking a break?" She asked him. Henry shrugged.

"Sorta." He said. He couldn't contain himself any longer. He strode over to her and wrapped his arms around her. Emma could feel her shoulder becoming warm and damp. She immediately started rubbing circles on his back soothingly.

"Woh, kid, are you ok? Is this report too hard? Do you need a hand?..."

"No, it's not my report." Henry croaked. "It's just…I'm glad I came and found you too." Emma's face scrunched up in confusion. She was about to ask what he meant when she realised. She pulled back from the hug and fixed him with an amused look.

"Did you maybe get a little bored and find my greatest achievement paper I wrote for that community college course?" She asked him. Henry grinned in reply. Emma rolled her eyes playfully. "Don't you be using that against me to your advantage." Emma ruffled his hair. "I am glad we found each other though, kid. I meant every word." She assured him. Henry smiled up at her, his eyes sparkling the way only his could.

"I know." He replied. Emma pulled him back, giving him once last little hug.

"Ok, soppy moment over kid. Time to actually write that report rather than reading my own. Wikipedia is going to be a lost more useful to copy than my stuff." Emma joked. Henry laughed.

"Ok, fair point. Love you, mom." He said before walking off. Emma smiled at him.

"Love you too kid." She replied. She really did mean every word of that report. He truly was what she would forever be most proud of in her life.
