Needing the truest believer
Kiwi asked for a oneshot of *season 5 spoilers!* Instead of Gold, Henry being the one needed to pull the Excalibur out of the stone. Dark One Emma takes Henry and tricks him into doing it.
I'm not sure if you're the guest who gave information on Jennifer's character on House or not, but thanks whoever you were. As I'm not sure if it was the same person as is requesting this chapter or not I'll leave that idea on the shelf for now, but your explanation was useful in giving me an idea of a compromise chapter!
One second Henry had been doing his homework, the next he was in a cold, dark, cellar. He spun around, his eyes only just adjusting to the dark.
"You don't need to be scared, Henry." Came a quiet, chilled, voice. "I would never hurt you." Now Henry understood where he was. This must be his mom's new house.
"What am I doing here mom?" He asked her. "Why couldn't you just call me?" Emma stepped forward so Henry could see her clearly. There were now deep bags under her eyes. He knew Dark Ones didn't sleep, but he didn't know they felt the exhaustion. That's part of what made so many of them so evil. Henry didn't like this. This woman in front of him…it wasn't his mom. Anything about his mom had disappeared for the time being.
"I didn't want the others to know. Not yet. Not until we're sure it will work." Emma explained. She pointed to the side. Henry looked round. There, stood in the corner of the cellar, was a sword wedged deeply into a large stone. The sword in the stone. Henry didn't need his book to know this legend. "I found Excalibur, Henry. Excalibur is the key to taking this curse away from me. You want that, don't you?"
"Of course I do!" Henry proclaimed enthusiastically. "But how can I help? Do you know who can pull it out? Do you want me to get them for you?" Henry asked, becoming more excited with each sentence. This could finally be over. Emma smiled coldly as she placed her hands on Henry's shoulders.
"You, Henry. You can pull that sword out. You are the truest believer. When you free that sword. I shall be free from this curse." Emma told him. Henry, for the first time, doubted himself. Surely he wasn't strong enough for this? "You can do this Henry." Emma assured her son. "Trust me." Henry nodded. He could at least try. He walked over to the stone and just looked at the sword.
"Go on Henry." Emma urged him, standing right behind her son. "Get it out." Henry nodded. He placed both his hands on the handle and took another steadying breath. He began to pull the sword upwards. To his astonishment, it moved. It was like pulling a feather out from between two rocks. This was easy! His mom was right. He was meant to do this for her! With a final tug, the sword was free. He stumbled backwards slightly, the sword in his hands.
"I did it!" He exclaimed. "It's loose!" Emma smiled.
"Yes Henry, it is." She agreed. With a simple wave of her hand, Excalibur was now in her possession and Henry was poofed out of the cellar and back to his bedroom. He looked around, horrified. He had been tricked. His mom needed him to pull that sword out alright, but not to free her from the curse. Clearly she had much more heinous intentions than that.
