It was a sunny day out in Big City and Bill was looking like he was about to head out to run an errand or more. Cricket was slightly annoyed while Tilly was feeling a bit curious.

"Dad, are you sure that we need a babysitter? Wouldn't a family member be better suited for this?" asked Cricket slightly annoyed.

"We don't even know who this person is that's going to babysit us. I at least did a good job last time." Tilly mentioned.

"Last time, I didn't have any options and Tilly volunteered. This time, I actually had the time to look for one. This person whose looking after you two for the time being is said really responsible, also, this person volunteered to do it for free and I interviewed this person already whose completely qualified and even Ma even approved of this person." Bill explained showing he was serious. "Your mom is busy at the time being so this was the only option."

This left both Cricket and Tilly both surprised and they looked at one another and back at Bill.

"Gramma even approved of this babysitter? She usually wouldn't trust someone as far as she could throw them." said a surprised Cricket.

"Gramma must have been convinced somehow. So maybe we're in capable hands." said Tilly trying to show optimism.

Bill had grabbed his car keys from the key hook that was from a key rail that was on the wall. He had Gramma Alice with him as she too was having to go with him.

"I still can't believe I'm going to the doctors for another check up. Everything was alright last time." groaned Gramma Alice.

"Ma, it's a frequent thing." said Bill reminding her.

"Ether way, it's still annoying as people on a dance show who don't really know how to dance! It's like they never went to a dance school." sighed Gramma Alice.

There was a knock at the door and Bill felt alerted as if he expected someone to come to their house. He walked over to the door and opened the door. Gramma Alice turned to look at the kids.

"Now you two listen here. I may not be all for it with babysitters watching out for my own but this person is actually someone I can trust or someone I can get along with, so don't give him any trouble. But I've also told him not to cause any trouble ether. So no mischief from both of ya and the babysitter. Got that!" Gramma Alice warned them.

"Yes ma'am." both of them said with a sigh.

Gramma Alice hugged the kids and walked out of the room with Bill after Bill had a talk with the babysitter.

"Kids, remember to listen to the babysitter. Come on, Ma!" Bill instructed.

"I'm not going to like this." groaned Gramma Alice.

Both Bill and Gramma Alice left the house and walked out the door. There was a person that walked inside after this person closed the door. There stood a tall male, appearing to be eighteen years old, six feet tall, having a slender body. He had yellow skin like Cricket but had long, straight, brown hair that was shoulder length and parted down the middle. His hair was really thick, full and voluminous, very beautiful. He wore a black T-shirt with a gold lion's face printed on the front of the shirt and he had on blue jean pants and black leather, steel toed boots. He looked really handsome but he had a stoic expression on his face.

"Cricket and Tilly Green, am I right?" the young male spoke.

"Yes?" the kids answered.

The eighteen year old male had a deep voice with a slight southern accent that was hard to tell if he had one or not.

"I'm Andrew Larson. I'm your babysitter for the afternoon. I'm away kids don't like to refer to themselves as babies when it comes to this so we'll make the best of this and have some fun. Don't do anything I won't do and all will be alright." said Andrew instructing them.

Tilly seemed to understand what Andrew told them but she was perplexed at the fact that he had no emotion on his face. No smile, no emotion, nothing. Cricket felt a bit surprised at what he told them but he too wondered why Andrew had a lack of emotion on his face.

"Where's the bathroom?" asked Andrew.

"Down the hall." the kids both said in unison.

"Thanks kids." said Andrew.

He walked down the hallway and into the bathroom that had the toilet. As he went inside to use the bathroom. Cricket turned to Tilly as if suspicious about Andrew.

"Tilly, don't you think Andrew is a bit strange?" asked Cricket confused.

"He doesn't seem so but he doesn't show any emotion on his face. Most babysitters would at least be optimistic and show a smile when greeting the kids they're in charge of but he's not smiling." said Tilly showing concern.

Cricket smiled and chuckled a bit. He looked like he had something on his mind.

"Maybe I can make him laugh and smile." chuckled Cricket.

"Are you sure about that, Cricket?" said Tilly not feeling sure. "Most people like him are not the laughing or smiling type but maybe we're blowing this out of full proportion."

They were interrupted as Andrew flushed the toilet, walked out of the bathroom and closed the door. He came back to them and still had the lack of emotion on his face.

"I should let you two know that your dad and your grandma already informed me that if I had to get a hold of them or anyone else you know, in case anything were to go wrong and cause a big bit of crisis, than I can contact them. At least that's what they've informed me about." said Andrew informing them. "Also, here's some rules we should go over."

Cricket let out a groan at the mention of going over some rules.

"No using swear words, no drugs, no smoking, no drinking alcohol. Don't go outside unless I'm with you to watch you. While I'm in charge of you two, we can't have friends over, that means that rule applies to even me. Wash up after you've handled anything that is messy. If you have any problems or concerns, come to me and talk about it." Andrew instructed.

Hearing this from Andrew seemed to leave the kids surprised but somewhat expecting him to say this. Cricket actually felt like this didn't bother him at all that much. Tilly seemed to be very understanding about it.

"Lets see what we do first." said Andrew.

For the next hour. Cricket, Tilly and Andrew would be tending to any chores Bill had Andrew supervising the kids on. He would assist Cricket and Tilly in their chores here and there. To their surprise, Andrew actually was capable of doing farm work and chores of that sort around the house. He proved to be really strong for someone as slender as he is in the body.

"Have you done this before, Andrew?" asked Tilly curious.

Andrew faced them but he still had no emotion on his face.

"I have from time to time." answered Andrew.

Cricket and Tilly were surprised yet amazed to know such a thing yet they wondered why Andrew wouldn't laugh, smile or show any emotion on his face. Cricket attempted to make him laugh.

"Hey Andrew, you find this funny?" asked Cricket.

Andrew looked at Cricket and the young ten year old boy crossed his eyes and flopped out his unusually long, thick, wide and broad, large tongue, making a silly sound while Andrew looked on in no reaction and no emotion. His attempt to make Andrew laugh failed as the teenager just shrugged his shoulders and Cricket stopped making the faces and sounds.

"What's next?" asked Andrew,

As time went on, they washed off after the chores were done and there were times when Tilly or Cricket tried to make Andrew laugh or smile but the attempts would once again fail. Cricket and Tilly went outside to play around while Andrew was keeping a watchful eye on the two kids. They would bounce a ball around and at times whisper to each other.

"Tilly, any attempts we make to make Andrew laugh or smile seem to be not working. I even tried to make fake farting sounds and not even a smirk." Cricket whispered.

"I even tried telling some of my best jokes and he had no reaction. Not even a chuckle nor a half smile. It's as if he's got no sense of humor or he doesn't have the ability to laugh. A person who lacks the ability to laugh or smile is someone who probably ether has no soul or is truly sad person who might not of had the experience of knowing what it's like to be a happy child going through a happy childhood that all children should experience. Oh how a sad and dark reality it must be." said Tilly grimly with a shocked, wide eyed expression.

"Tilly, cool down, that was dark." Cricket commanded.

Tilly let out a breath and her expression changed back to being the cheerful, child like expression.

"Maybe we can get him to laugh and smile if we watch a funny film with him." said Cricket with a sly grin.

Tilly smiled and nodded at the very mention of the idea. They remember they'd watch a few funny films before and they would be laughing their heads off when they remembered a funny scene or more they loved. They both smiled.

"I know a film we can see that'll get him laughing so hard." said Cricket.

Cricket leaned in and whispered to Tilly in her ear and whispered which film they should see in the house and she nodded and so did Cricket.

"Good idea, brother. That'll get him laughing till it hurts a little." whispered Tilly.

Cricket turned to Andrew and smiled.

"Andrew, would it be alright if we got to watch film?" asked Cricket.

Andrew got up from the porch and he felt a bit peaceful on the suggestion. He felt like he agreed to the idea.

"Sure, as long as it's age appropriate." called Andrew.

They walked inside the house and they entered the living room as Cricket got out a DVD and he had gotten it from a DVD box that was named "Left At Home" and as Tilly and Andrew sat on the couch, Cricket placed the DVD into the DVD player. He pushed the play button and sat on the couch with them.

"What are we seeing?" asked Andrew curiously.

"Left At Home." answered Cricket and Andrew in unison.

They looked at the television screen and saw the film playing. As the film would go on, they would see how the film went as the beginning of the film shown a family getting ready for a Christmas vacation to another country but they had some kids bickering while the adults had to get them to stop.

Than the film kept going and it shown the family overslept and they rushed their way to get ready and left the house but they forgot that they left their youngest family member at home by himself. A young little eight year old. The young boy would start to see he's left at home by himself and he begins to have some fun that he knew his family wouldn't let him do. Cricket and Tilly giggled at how funny some of the scenes appeared to be but Andrew still wouldn't laugh or smile.

The family in the film would try to find a way to get police officers to go and check their house out but the kid never answered the door and the officers figured they forgot to count their kids. The kid would watch the house when he finds out two bumbling burglars would try to break into the house but failed.

The mother still attempted to get closer to home in order to get to her son shown she was determined. The kid would have a chat with an old man in his neighborhood at the local church as they have a lot to relate while the old man dispels the rumors about himself to the kid, making the boy no longer afraid of him. After they had a chat, he went home and the kid set up plenty of booby traps all around the house and the two burglars arrived at the house.

"This is going to be funny." chuckled Cricket.

Andrew wondered what he meant but he got his answer when he saw the booby traps being sprung on the two burglars. The first trap shown that the boy used a BB gun to shoot a pellet at the burglars, one got shot in his crotch, reacting in painful twitches and groans and trying his best not to say a swear word. The other got a pellet fired at his head and got a headache from it. This made Cricket and Tilly laugh while Andrew looked like he was doing a really good job at trying not to laugh or smile but he looked amused somehow.

The burglars tried to use a set of stairs outside but both slipped on them from how icy they were. One of them managed to get inside through a door that leads to the basement and pulled a string that would turn on a light but a clothes iron hit him on his face, knocking him to the floor and leaving an iron shaped mark on his face. Cricket and Tilly kept laughing as Cricket laughed and said.

"Hahaha, look, it's iron face." joked Cricket.

Andrew let out a small chuckle and a smile was slowly smiling. Both Cricket and Tilly felt like their attempts to make him laugh and smile was working. One of the burglars tried to open the door but got a burn mark on his hands and placed it in the snow to cool it off but it left a burn mark with a letter forever on his right hand. This caused Andrew to laugh louder and smile more with the kids.

"That's gonna leave a scar." joked Cricket.

One of the burglars tried going up the stairs in the basement but his shoes and socks came off due to the stairs were covered in some thick black tar. He stepped on a nail a little but he looked down and fell on his back, screaming in pain as they were laughing at the funny reaction.

"I guess he gets the point." joked Tilly.

"No doubt." laughed Andrew.

They saw one of them trying to get inside from another door but a flame thrower blew fire on the top of his head, causing him to scream in a hilarious sound, ran outside to put the flames on his head out by placing his head into the snow. They laughed as it was humorous to them, despite the burglar finding his way in and knocking the flame thrower off the wall.

"Someone call the fire department. He's on fire!" laughed Andrew.

As the burglars found a way inside the boy's house. One of them heard the boy but the boy ran out of the room and he walked into the room, saran wrap with a sticky substance met his face, he pulled it off him and as he walked forwards, his leg pulled a string.

"Now you're dead!" screamed the burglar in anger.

The string got pulled and a fan flew feathers all over him with the feathers sticking to him all over. Cricket, Tilly and Andrew burst out laughing at the appearance of the burglar.

"Now you're a chicken!" the joked in unison.

They continued to laugh as the film continued when one of them burglars got in from the window but stepped on Christmas ornaments, causing him to scream and feel enraged.

"I'm gonna kill that kid!" screamed the burglar.

As they continued watching, the burglars found each other and they heard the kid call out to them but as they walked forwards, they slipped on some miniature car toys and fell on the floor.

"You guys give up? Or are you thirsty for more?" the boy taunted.

As they got up from the floor. The boy tossed some paint cans down and it knocked both of them down the stairs and onto the floor. They were laughing at how hilarious the scene looked. The burglars tried to catch him but one of them tripped over a bungee cord while the other tried to catch him , got him by the foot but the boy used something one of them was afraid of in order to let go. The burglar tried using something to kill a large spider on the other burglar but the creature crawled away and the burglar got hit instead. They got up and went after the kid.

They saw the kid got from the third floor of the house to the tree house on a zip line. They tried to climb over but the boy used loppers to cut the rope and the burglars swung over towards a brick wall of the house and fell on the ground. The boy escaped but lead them to another house they broke in before. The burglars nearly got the upper hand on him but the old man he met at the church came in and used a snow shovel to strike the burglars and knocked them out. The old man got the boy home and police officers arrested the two bad guys.

"They broke into the wrong house this year." said Cricket in a victorious mood.

"You know it!" said Andrew feeling stoked.

They saw the film continue and the mother made it home and they reconciled with each other, than the rest of the family came home and reconciled while they were surprised that everything was alright but the young boy did see from the window that the old man reconciled with his son and are a family again. But the boy heard his older brother scream out.

"Devon, what did you do to my room!" came his brother's voice.

The smile on his face disappeared and he ran somewhere in the house. The film ended and both Cricket and Tilly smiled as they felt like they succeeded with their plans.

"We did it! We got Andrew to smile and laugh." said Cricket out loud.

Andrew looked at the kids and was now met with confusion. They were trying to make him laugh and smile but what for?

"Cricket, Tilly, what's going on?" asked Andrew looking confused.

Cricket and Tilly knew that they were found out but looked at Andrew as they knew they should tell him the truth. They let out a sigh.

"Andrew, we were trying to make you laugh and smile the whole time you were here. But it was because you mostly had that look on your face. That look on your face had us thinking you were depressed." Cricket confessed.

"The times we tried to get you to laugh or smile all have failed and we figured watching a funny film would get you to crack a smile or at least crack up laughing. That look of no emotion on your face had us believing you were depressed or that you had a rough childhood. So that's why we were trying to get you to laugh or smile." Tilly confessed as well.

"So that's why we were watching the hilarious film. That, and to have a good time." Cricket continued.

Andrew finally saw that everything made sense and all came together. He let out a sigh and shown an understanding expression while still stoic.

"You two got nothing to worry about. You see, I've had a happy childhood. Me and my family are quite well off, we know the value of hard work like farmers do since we've done farm work before, we've been physically active a lot in life. I come from a good family and a big family at that, but even though my mom's first marriage didn't work out, she got remarried and met the one for her who is not only the right man for her but also the right man to be my dad. Still, I had a happy childhood, had a lot of fun, me, my mom and my step dad, even though he feels more like a dad to me than anyone else, we got along really good, and so did me and the rest of my family. But I've always had a stoic expression on my face, like an emotionless robot." Andrew explained.

Andrew mimicked some robot sounds as a joke and he got the kids to laugh.

"Does not compute. Error, error, error." said Andrew mimicking a robot's voice.

"That's funny." chuckled Tilly.

"But it's like I've said to others. I may look like I got no emotion on my face and they should have nothing to worry about because despite my lack of emotion. There's a lot more love behind this face." Andrew finished as he shown a compassionate expression. "But the reason why I didn't laugh or smile at first was because small jokes or small humor doesn't get me laughing as hard as it used to. But watching that film definitely got me laughing so hard."

The three shared a contagious laugh for a bit as they laughed at the funny scenes the film they watched together have shown. Cricket was starting to warm up to Andrew and as hours have passed, they had plenty of fun. Andrew even impressed Tilly with how he had immediately had a bond with the animals.

Andrew shown that he was able to have a peaceful and understanding bond between him and the animals as he was speaking a foreign language to calmly command them but he also fed them a sweet treat afterwards would leave things on a positive and calm note with them.

"What language did you speak to them?" asked Cricket curiously amazed.

"Italian, I've learn several different languages and I learned to find a way to communicate with animals, even find ways to bond with them." answered Andrew.

Hearing this not only amazed them but it left Tilly wide eyed with excitement as she ran up towards Andrew to hug him around the leg. Andrew was left blushing.

"Anyone who has a way with animals is a friend of Tilly Green." said Tilly.

Andrew felt like he was really bonding with the kids and the kids were really bonding with him. He shown the kids how strong he is by lifting both of them up and carrying them on his back.

"The Incredulous Bulk can lift us both up like we were feathers," joked Cricket.

"Bulk stronger than anyone." Andrew said imitating a deep and booming male's voice.

As time during the day would go on, both Cricket, Tilly and Andrew had quite a fun time. It was about to get close to sundown as the three were sitting on the couch, watching a comedian perform while eating some good snack foods. Each one of them were eating some. Cricket was eating a bag of chips, Tilly was eating a bowl of buttered popcorn and Andrew was eating a bag of what looked like a cheese covered snack that was having the words "Cheesy Twisters" which the snack was looking like tornados covered in cheddar cheese.

"This comedian is funny." said Cricket amused.

The television screen shown a male comedian performing with a ventriloquist puppet that looked like a grumpy old man with his arms crossed in discontent

"So Manny, I heard you once went to Ireland when you graduated college to celebrate." said the comedian.

"Oh? You heard about that vacation trip, did you?" said the puppet. "When I got there, I got so confused as so many people were wearing skirts there till they told me it's a kilt but when I was thinking they were all women, boy was I in for shock."

The three laughed at the joke as the audience on the television were laughing.

"How did you find out they were men?" asked the comedian.

"Lets just say that some of us wish we could forget that moment of the trip." said the puppet.

They laughed a little harder but eventually calmed from their laughter once the door to the house opened and in came Bill and Gramma Alice into the room. The three turned to see them entering the living room.

"We're home." came Bill's voice.

Bill looked a bit worn out while Gramma Alice was looking alright.

"How'd it go?" asked Cricket.

"Your dad was told that he needed find ways to calm himself from stress but they had to amputate my leg." said Gramma Alice looking shocked.

She suddenly pulled her right leg off like it was a shoe on her foot. Andrew saw this and was wide eyed with shock, his heart raced and he nearly felt like screaming.

"Dismemberment!" cried Andrew.

Gramma Alice placed her prosthetic leg back on and smiled with a chuckle.

"Gotcha!" chuckled Gramma Alice. "You should've seen your face, Andy boy."

The kids looked at Andrew as he not only looked relieved but he smiled with a small chuckle.

"You really had me going there for a moment." Andrew chuckled in relief.

Bill sat down on a nearby seat in the living room as he let out a groan of mild pain and exhaustion. They wondered what got him so tired.

"Is Mr. Green alright?" asked Andrew curiously.

"They had to take a blood sample in two small tubes but it left me feeling a bit tired out. Good news is, they gave me some cookies and a glass of orange juice." said Bill feeling relieved to sit.

"I've been there. They once had to do that with me to see if my health was affected somehow and I was fine. But I felt tired afterwards which my mom made sure I ate something afterwards. One bacon and cheese sandwich and a cold glass of orange juice. Perked me right up." said Andrew sympathizing with him.

Andrew got up from the couch but Gramma Alice stopped him from where he was at.

"Hold on there. Were Cricket and Tilly good kids while under your watch? Don't you lie to me, Andy boy, or I'll shave your head." Gramma Alice warned.

"They were good kids, ma'am. No trouble at all. You guys are raising really good kids." said Andrew calmly.

"He's telling the truth." aid Cricket and Tilly in unison.

Gramma Alice looked the three over and looked as though she was looking for any signs of deceit while Cricket and Tilly looked nervous while Andrew shown a stoic expression once again.

"If anything went wrong under my watch. You can fire me right now. I won't even stop you." said Andrew looking bold.

Gramma Alice kept looking things over and looked around the room as well. No damages and no signs of anything broken and went back to looking at Andrew.

"Hmmm. Quite a bold move of you for what you've said. You know what!" said Gramma Alice looking like she was angry at mid-sentence.

There was a pause and Gramma Alice suddenly smiled. They didn't know if she was setting them up for a trap or if she was approving something.

"Alrighty, I believe ya. Even though we left our kids in the care of a babysitter. Still, I may not trust people I don't know but you've shown me there's no reason to distrust you. So you've earned my trust and my liking." said Gramma Alice as her hostility turned to calmness. "But just so you know, do anything I won't do when it comes to my own."

"You'll kick me out the door like a football when the player kicks it right into the N zone?" guessed Andrew.

"I was going to say you'll get an earful but you know what I mean. But don't guess what I'll say next, even though you were being accurate." said Gramma Alice still warning him.

Andrew let out a sigh of relief.

"Understood ma'am." said Andrew. "Looks like I'll be headed out."

"Dad, can we have Andrew babysit us again when we need to be?" asked the kids hopefully.

"Wow! The kids have taken a shine to you. Looks like we'll give you a call if we need a babysitter again." said Bill looking impressed.

"Understood sir. I may be stoic but there's a lot more love behind this face." Andrew stated.

They all shown they had an understanding for what he said. Andrew turned to face the kids as they hugged each other.

"I'll be seeing you two again some time." said Andrew.

"You take care of yourself, no matter what you're doing in life." Tilly said with compassion.

"I'm glad you're able to smile. Can't wait to make you laugh again." said Cricket showing he's warmed up to him.

"I'll be looking forward to it." said Andrew.

Andrew left the living the room and walked out the door.

"Mom! I'm ready to go home." called Andrew.

"Good thing I came here just in time, honey!" came a lady's voice.

As Andrew left to go home. The Green family knew that they've found a babysitter that they can trust but also a babysitter that feels like family.
