Sijin was still grinning from ear to ear as he watched the van drive away, in which the girl group Red Velvet had taken to come and perform at the base drive out of the military compounds. The 'mission' was such a success, the day couldn't be any better!

He glanced up towards the sky as the rain has finally stopped. Well, the day was almost perfect. It's been a long time since he last been able to enjoy any girl group performances at the base so it was fun.

Sijin let out a sigh. After this, it's back to finishing that bloody report. Would anyone actually gonna read that report anyway? What's even the point of writing all that besides wasting a lot of papers?

A slap on the shoulder made Sijin jump as he turned around to see who was it that startled him. It was the deputy commander of the Special Warfare Command. Sijin hastily gave him a salute.

The older man just waved it aside. "At ease, Captain, no need to be too alarmed. Are you enjoying the performance earlier?"

Sijin let out a nervous smile as he nodded. "Yes, sir. It was an enjoyable performance. "

The man smiled before patting his back some more.

"Good, good..." the man started to say before looking at Sijin straight in the eye. "I heard that Colonel Park had told you to write a long report about what happen in your last mission."

Sijin's smile started wavering as the man began to laugh.

"Don't worry too much about the report, just send it over once you're done. Regardless of what was written, it was already decided that both you and Sergeant Seo will receive a promotion. General Yun mentioned it to me as such. You're finally going to be promoted into the rank of Major."

Sijin could barely contain his relief as he thanked the deputy commander for the information. As he excused himself to leave, Sijin gained a new drive to complete his last part of the report.

It took the two of them almost a day to reach the nearest village from the point where Captain Ahn had dropped them off. Good thing too since Sijin was completely exhausted from all of the walking across unfamiliar terrains.

The villagers they met were kind enough to provide them with food and shelter, despite the state they were in. On that, they were very thankful.

Yet another problem rose as most of the villagers were not that fluent in English. He and Daeyoung ended up having to communicate with them using gestures and what few Russian words that they know.

The two of them had stayed at the village for two days to recover their strengths and resume their journey right after. They managed to acquire assistance from one of the farmers in the village who offered them a ride towards the nearest city.

And from then on, it took a while for them to come in contact with the Korean Embassy in Ukraine before having to endure all of the tedious business of verifying their identities and other related procedures. Which was so frustrating since all of the documents related to them as well as any identifying tags that could prove their identities were all back in Korea.

Not to mention being accused to be spies by some suspiscious officers...

Well, at least all of that was in the past now. Sijin let out a long sigh before massaging the bridge of his nose. He glanced up towards the monitor screen before saving the report.

So that's done.

To be honest, as much as he told Daeyoung to spice up their reports to make it sound 'movie-like' and much more interesting, he didn't really have much idea on what to write about the things that happened after their escape. Especially back then when they couldn't care less about the things they saw on the way back. What was the name of the village they went to, the names of the people who helped them... or even the names of the places they ended up in.

Who would even take note about things like that while they were in those situations? Ah, whatever. He'll tell Sergeant Seo to check on it later before sending it over.

Sijin walked out from the office as he started to yawn.

Just as he reached the front area he heard some noises from a nearby area. Turned out, there were a few officers in the leisure room who were watching the television. A smile crept to his face as he recognized the show as the one Moyeon was in.

Why on earth were those officers so interested in watching a medical talk show at this time?

"Aah, I want a girlfriend like Dr Kang. Imagine getting treated by someone as pretty as her."

"She probably had a boyfriend or husband already. Dream on!" Sijin turned to look towards the two that started bickering between themselves.

Oh? They think they can get a hand on his girl? He should really—!

"This is Kang Moyeon's Body Check Season two."Today, we learned about hyperlipidemia."

"Before we wrap up, I'd like to ask our doctor something all of you want to know. You're still single. By any chance, are you dating anyone?"

Sijin's attention immediately turned towards the TV screen. Why so sudden—?

Moyeon suddenly laughed coyly, as if she was truly embarrassed. "I wasn't expecting that question..."

Sijin eyed the television screen warily. Oh no, he didn't believe that! There was something suspicious in the way Moyeon spoke to the announcer. He was sure that she had planned to do this!

"To prevent hyperlidemia, it would be great to have a boyfriend to exercise with. But I don't have one."

And as Sijin suspected, Moyeon suddenly turned her face towards the camera as she spoke the last sentence.

As if she was actually directing those words to him in particular.

"I'm too busy."

The boys who were still watching the programme started whooping aloud in excitement as Sijin found himself seething by himself. Sijin smiled in disbelief.

...

As he headed towards his own car, Sijin's phone started to ring as he accepted the call. And who else would've called him now if it wasn't our beautiful and famous doctor?

"Yeah?" he asked.

"Are you free now? How about you come over to my place tonight?"

He took in a long breath of air as Sijin tried to summon all of the self-restraint to not snap at her girlfriend on the phone. Sijin forced a tight smile as he answered her question quickly.

"Sure. See you later..." he said before ending the call.

What? She had no boyfriend? Then what was he to her then? A personal pet?

Sijin just let all of the arguments swirl around inside of his head as he got into his car and drove out of the military compound.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand that's the end. Sorry that it took so long to finish this part. Got a bit distracted with a lot of other fics during these past few years so I've been jumping around on different wips which led to me making a very slow progress on this chapter. Plus last year I had a family death... and then yanno, COVID—But hey, finally I got back to finishing this last part.

Don't ask me if there's any new DOTS fics in the works. While I do still have a few random shorts that I used to start but never posted before, my muse can be very fickle so it'll probably be ages before I'd ever go back to work on those drafts.

Also thank you for the recent rise of interest on my DOTS fanfic in the past year until now.
