Needing the truest believer- part 2
EmmaSwan7 asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch1945 "Needing the truest believer" where *5b spoilers!* Emma kills herself to snuff out the darkness. Whilst journeying to the Underworld she realises Henry blames himself for her death and she kisses his forehead and they both talk.
Emma could hardly believe her eyes when she saw him. How was he here?
"Henry?" Emma asked. He nodded, silently approaching her. "Henry!" Emma called, quickly closing the distance between them. "Henry, what are you doing here? How are you here?"
"I couldn't leave you down here alone mom." Henry said. "After what happened…I should have done more to help you. I should have been there for you." Emma wasn't able to win her fight against the darkness. In fear of hurting someone she loved, she had made the decision to take her own life.
However, Henry had discovered that as Emma was a former Dark One, this was not the end. She wasn't quite dead yet. She was in the Underworld. He had a chance to bring her home. So before anyone else could stop him, he used his powers as the Author to make the journey. If only his powers alone were enough to bring her home. Unfortunately that had to be Emma's choice.
Emma realised what Henry was saying. He was blaming himself for her decision. Her heart broke for her son. The decision had been hers and hers alone to protect him and the rest of their family. She took his face in her hands and kissed his forehead.
"Henry, don't you dare blame yourself for what happened to me. This was not your fault, kid. This was my decision. I had to do it to keep everyone safe. I hope you understand." Emma said. How could she explain this to him?
"But you didn't have to mom." Henry told her. "We found a way to stop the dagger from calling you. You just have to trust me. Because you are a former Dark One, you can come back." Emma looked at him, shocked.
"What do you mean?" She asked. How could she come back from the Underworld.
"Because you were a Dark One, you get a second chance. I can bring us both back, but only if you choose it. You need to trust me that we can rid you of the darkness." Henry pleaded with her.
"You can really rid me of the darkness?" She asked. Henry nodded profusely. "Isn't everyone mad at me for what I did?" Henry shook his head.
"No, nobody's mad. They miss you like crazy." Henry told her. "Please mom. Say you'll come home." Emma had only ever done this to save her family from the darkness. If she could get rid of it for good and be with them, then of course she would come home.
"I'll come home Henry." She told him. "Of course I will." Suddenly, Emma and Henry were thrown backwards as a portal opened beneath them. Henry took his mom's hand.
"It's time to go." He said gently. And together, they jumped into the portal. Together, they went home.
