Bella's room; the flat

Bella woke up with a headache...

She tried to recall what she did last night at Old Adam's Dateless Bar. But all she remembers is her chugging a mug of beer that Adam poured for her (he actually did oblige to her wanting to get wasted) right as the English Esper began his interviewing of one Constanze Vormirberger...

Whether she had any vision dreams last night, she can't remember thanks to the beer. But if she had any vision dreams, she dreaded the possibility of anyone in that land seeing her behaving like a drunk hobo...

Was that just one mug of beer? God, it was her first time having alcohol, and she instantly proved that her body doesn't handle the strong liquid too well.

Bella then removed her blanket, dreading the worst...

Thankfully for her, she is still fully clothed, in yesterday's casual clothes including the jacket rather than her pajamas, but still better than the alternative. And if the tidiness of the rest of her bed is any indication, whoever brought her back to her flat simply left her on her bed, pulled the blanket over her, and promptly left without doing anything else. Who got her back after she got wasted is unimportant right now.

Head still aching, she reached for her mobile phone by the bedside table, before remembering that it is still in the pocket of her jacket which she spent the whole night in.

The clock of the phone reads 0932 Hours.

Usually, she'd already be awake by seven in the morning even though the first class in each day starts at either 1000 Hours or 1200 Hours. But thanks to the hangover, she ended up sleeping for an extra two and a half hour. Good thing today is a Saturday, which she doesn't have any classes on.

That being said, Bella thought she needed to deal with the headache from the hangover. So she climbed out of her bed and, with slow staggering steps, made her way to the water closet...

...

Nothing beats having a nice cup of coffee in the morning, especially after one have just dealt with the hangover from the previous night...

It helps for Bella that there's no classes today, so she can have the whole day to herself. Of course, she hasn't planned what she is going to do for the day, but that didn't really matter for her right now as she enjoyed the much needed cup of coffee.

Her peaceful moment is promptly interrupted by the sound of her mobile phone indicating that she has just received a new post in the International Sealing Club's WeChat group.

"How's our Little Witch doing?" It was sent by Adam.

Bella almost did a spit take upon reading that post.

"Probably still passed out from all those... potions... she had last night." A second post almost immediately came from Renko.

"Or maybe she's charging up for her daily doses of YAY." Adam followed that with another post.

Bella face-palmed. She just couldn't understand why her friends did this.

"Stop. Please." Bella sent her post.

The WeChat systems indicated after Bella sent her message that Adam and Renko are typing their responses. Bella hoped for the worst, which in this case means the most humiliating things Adam and Renko would say to her...

Except the "are typing" indicator disappeared without the two posting their responses. The only reason this could happen is that something made them decided to delete their responses without ever sending them.

"I made them stop." Came a post from Jing-Jun.

Bella smiled upon seeing the Taiwanese boy's post.

"We have another club meeting at 10:30 AM. Nothing important, so you can refuse to attend if you choose to. Want to come?" Jing-Jun sent another post.

Bella is glad that she has someone sane like Ke Jing-Jun to call a friend in the International Sealing Club. She typed her response...

"Sure."

...And then sent it.

Jing-Jun sent his reply a few seconds later.

"Well, we will be reserving a parking space for your broom, then."

After reading the Taiwanese boy's reply, Bella rolled her eyes and came to a conclusion regarding human psychology.

Just because someone's sane doesn't mean they won't engage in acts of insanity.

A late Merry Christmas and an early Happy New Year to everyone reading!

Anyway, this was originally going to be a full chapter that would've progressed the story, especially after my months-long hiatus. But seeing that 2019 (and by extension the 2010s) is almost over, I elected to re-purpose this chapter as an Omake so I have something to post before New Year Eve.

And with that, let's ring out the old and ring in the new!

"And that, as they say, is that."

Afterwords end here.

NOTE: this chapter is first posted at AO3 on December 30th, 2019. I was suddenly able to access Fanfiction Dot Net again, so I figured I might as well get this chapter posted here in case my access to FF right now turned out to be temporary and I lose it again.
