Chapter 1
October 9, 1998
~Halliwell Manor~
"Phoebe!" Prue yelled, fallowing her out of the room, "Where do you think your going?"
"The attic" Phoebe called, back over her shoulder. Not really in the mood to deal with Prue attitude anymore.
"Fine, let's go Piper" Prue snapped, as she turned back around and began heading towards the basement.
"Go?" Piper questioned, "Go where?
"To fix the lights. I need you to hold the flashlight" Prue explained, exasperated. Phoebe hadn't even been back a day yet and she already getting on her nerves.
"Prue, you know I don't like the basement" Piper reminded, as she forced herself the taken the flashlight in question.
"Yeah, well were not kids anymore" Prue countered, as she began her resent down the stairs and into the basement. Piper hot on her heels.
Phoebe was just about to give up on getting into the attic. When the door swung open behind her on its own.
Phoebe jumped as thunder outside seemed to be closer than before. She turned head just in time to catch a glimpse of what looked like lightening hit a house down the street.
She couldn't help, but grimace as she thought about how much damage that'd probably caused, let alone hoe much it take to fix it. She was just thankful it was someone else problem, and not hers. She already had enough problems as it is and doesn't need any more if she could help it.
Her attention was so focused on what was going on outside. That she didn't notice the light emitting from the book resting on her lap. A clear indicator that something was happening. By the time Phoebe had turn her attention back to the book she'd found. It had stopped.
"The Book of Shadows" Phoebe read, before flipping to the next page.
Here now the words
of the witches,
The secrets we hid
in the night,
The oldest of gods
we invoke here.
the great work of
magic is sought,
In this night and in this hour,
I call upon the ancient power,
To restore our powers
to we sisters
Grant us the power
We want the power
The Power of Three
Prue through open the attic door just seconds after Phoebe finished reading the spell. Piper just a few steps behind her.
"What are you doing" Prue questioned.
"Reading" Phoebe admitted, as she moved to stand. The book of shadows held tight against her chest, "An incantation from this book of shadows. I found it in the truck over there."
"Let me see that" Prue demanded, taking the book out of her hand.
"How did you get in here" Piper finally asked, they hadn't been able to get it budge, let alone open at all in the last six months since the moved back in.
"I just opened" Phoebe replied, choice to refrain from mentioning that it opened all by itself.
Piper just nodded her arms folded over her chest. As her mind finally caught up, to everything else Phoebe had said.
"Did you say incantation? What incantation?" Piper questioned, her voice rising.
"Well, it's a spell. It mention three essential of magic. Timing, feeling, and the faces of the moon" Phoebe explain, "So, if we where everything going to do it now would be the time. Midnight on a full moon is the most powerful time to do it."
"Do what exactly" Piper questioned, not like where any of this was going.
"Receive our powers" Phoebe admitted, unable to stop herself from smiling. She couldn't help, but feel as if some sort of weight. She hadn't known she'd been holding. Had finally been lifted off her.
"Our Powers?" Piper began, "You include me in this?"
"No, she include both of us. There's no limit. It just say, we sisters" Prue corrected, as she closed the book.
"It's a book of witchcraft" Prue stated, as she starred Phoebe down.
"Let me see" Piper said, wanting to take a look for herself.
The sister continued to argue completely oblivious to the dangers coming for them. Including, the one lurking right outside their house at that very moment.
A male figure stood outside. Just waiting for a sign that the charmed ones powers had finally awaken.
His attention so focused on what was going on inside the manor. He didn't even notice that he himself was no longer alone.
As two more figure appeared out of the shadows directly behind him.
"It's time" Charlotte announced, turning her attention to her young charge, "Are you ready."
"As I'll ever be," Paige admitted, shrugging. It didn't really matter if she was ready for this or not, but she was prepared for it. Which was more than some people, "Are they?"
"They have to be" Charlotte replied, "and if there not. Well, that's what they have you for."
Paige couldn't help, but smile at the faith Charlotte seemed to have in her. They both knew she'd do everything within her power to keep them safe, because that's what family did.
