We might not all be free

But we tried to believe.

When our day is done,

We might see the sun...

The Return

Bendy held Henry as the two got out of the Machine room. It had been an intense battle. Henry was nearly covered in ink, and Bendy was in his demon form exhausted. But they had done it.

They had defeated the Ink. They turned off the Machine. Now they were out and out of here, ready to go back to their allies. But something felt wrong.

"Hey, Henry. What's the matter?" Bendy asked as Henry looked down, a worried look on his face.

"Well, after turning off the Machine, I have this odd feeling that Sammy, Allison, and Tom won't be meeting us there..."

"Why? Do you think we'd be leaving alone? They'd never abandon us. What would happen to them after the Machine was turned off? Nothing!"

Bendy chuckled, but Henry wasn't laughing back. He was serious. "Oh...hey, don't feel bad. I'm sure it's just paranoia. They're probably fine! Right?"

A few minutes later...

"Hey guys! We're back! And don't worry about Henry! He's-"

Suddenly, the duo stopped. Henry had a horrified look on his face and Bendy suddenly stopped smiling, ink dripping down his face. It was silent.

There on the floor, was a puddle. And next to the puddle, were Tom's gauntlet, Allison's knife, and Sammy's mask, laying flat on the floor.

The Grief

"No...Oh god, no..."

Henry fell on his knees, staring at the puddles his allies had left behind as a result of them being "free". He had once watched a friend die once, and now, four he has failed to save. Then he began quietly sobbing, covering his face with his hands.

" Why...why does it have to keep ending...like this?"

Bendy crouched down to comfort the poor human, patting him on the back.

"Henry? I'm sorry...I didn't know they would actually..."

He remained silent for a moment, then continued.

"Henry...it's not your...it's not your fault. They knew this would happen...they knew that they would have to pass on so you could be free. It's okay...they would want you to move on..."

Henry was still claiming it was his fault. Bendy sighed, and kept comforting the old man. The duo was now alone once again...or so they thought.

An Old Friend

Suddenly, a faint whimper began coming from the puddle.

The duo looked up to see a lump beginning to form within the puddle.

Slowly, it began to form into something...no...someone.

The lump gained a featureless tall form, before the form began to became black and white becoming what looked like a person.

Except this person looked something like a tall wolf, ears straight up in the air, and wearing overalls.

Henry slowly smiled, his sadness fading away when he saw him. The wolf opened its eyes, the now living pie cut eyes as he shook his head, confused why he was here.

But Bendy was the most affected. "Bor-" He stood in awe for a moment, before dissolving back into his normal form and rushing toward the wolf.

"Boris!"

Bendy touched Boris on the shoulder, before wrapping his arms around his pal. Bendy held tight to him. And now it was time for the devil to cry.

"Boris! Boris I...I don't even...I don't know where to..."

Bendy's eyes began wetting with tears as he was overjoyed to finally see his friend alive again.

"..."

Boris then shed a tear, before patting Bendy as he began letting out the ink works, inky tears falling on his overalls.

Bendy's tears stopped when a voice replied;

"Bendy...as long as you're here...I don't care..."

Bendy jerked away. "Wait! You can talk?!"

Boris covered his mouth in response. "Well good golly gosh, I now do!"

Henry came up to Boris and patted him on the shoulder. "Well, talking wolf or not, you're still our Boris."

Boris smiled. The wolf had returned once again...only this time, he wasn't truly soulless after all.

Return of the Angel

Then, another lump of ink began to rise from the puddle, forming into another person.

A person with a halo and horns on the top.

"Oh no! W...what if it's-?!"

Bendy stopped hugging Boris and began shielding him, ink dripping down his face ready to become his demon form again. Henry was wary, but hesitant, holding his axe in case it really was that heartless jerk. Yet Boris was confused. He didn't realize what was wrong with this angel.

Soon, the form took full shape into the woman they all knew, facing away from them. But she looked much shorter than that twisted angel they'd feared. In fact, she didn't look very much liken Susie at all! The halo wasn't dripping with ink, and her arms looked more...rubber hose like. And the sounds she was making...was that...sobbing?

Still, the group wasn't gonna fall for her traps. She had done this before, or some time before Henry came back. She'd make imitations of a different person, luring her prey into finding her before taking out their heart. In all cases, she was more demon than angel.

When she turned toward them, they expect to see a horrible, melting, deformed face of cartoon and reality nightmares. That's when they saw her face. The face wasn't deformed at all.

It was Alice's true face in the posters...2 black, perfect pie cut eyes, a perfect pointed nose, and a perfect mouth, not melted as it was before. Sure her forehead was dripping ink, but it didn't matter. It was truly perfect.

Henry dropped the blade of his axe, and Bendy stopped transforming. Bendy walked toward her, his hand reaching out. "Alice? Toots? Is...is that really you?"

The Alice covered her face, sobbing. "No! Don't look at me...you don't... you don't understand..." Bendy stopped and realized this Alice remembered everything she had recently done as Susie, and she regrets it. "Please...don't..."

"But toots...look at yourself! You're perfect!" Henry joined in the conversation."Even if you're dripping with ink, your still our little angel." Alice stared directly at the two. She turned away. "Bendy...you're not that monster anymore...and is Henry alright? He looks exhausted."

Bendy blushed. "Well, toots, I'd say we're doing fine now. Good news is that we can get out of here now! We can finally see the sun!" Alice was a bit confused, but soon understood what had happened. Henry had freed them once and for all.

That's when Boris began speaking. "Hey, Henry! When we finally see the sun, could you tell me more of the food we can eat there? Oh, I can't wait!" Alice's face suddenly began welling with tears as she ran toward him and hugged him. At first, Henry thought she missed him, but then he realized what she was saying.

"Oh Boris! I killed you so many times...I couldn't control myself. That wasn't me. She just took over and...and...Oh I'm so sorry!"

Boris patted her on the back. "Don't cry, Alice. All is forgiven." Bendy joined the comforting of the Angel. "Oh, toots! I've done tons of horrible things when I was soulless. I wasn't aware before, and now I am. I guess we're the same now..."

Henry hugged the trio as they reunite once more. His friends may be gone...but they have left something behind. It's time to honor the next generation and move on.
