The ideal fighter
msdrummergirl asked for a oneshot of Emma, Neal and Henry watching Mulan and Neal says he wants to fight like Mulan.
Emma smiled, amused, as her little brother jumped around the living room with his wooden sword as he re-enacted the movie scenes. He seemed to know the entire script (and apparently screenplay) off by heart.
"You sure love this movie, don't you Neal?" Henry said, watching him as well. Neal nodded, refusing to speak until he'd finished this fight scene.
"Yeah, when I grow up I want to fight just like Mulan does!" Emma and Henry looked at each other.
"You know mommy and daddy are really good at sword fighting too buddy?" Emma reminded him. She didn't think her parents would particularly appreciate their son saying he wished to be able to fight like someone who wasn't either of them.
"I know, but Mulan's better." Neal said simply. Henry fell about the floor laughing. If only his grandparents had been around to hear that! Emma had to think fast. She didn't want them coming home to that otherwise she would be hung, drawn and quartered for encouraging this mutiny.
"You know Neal, me and mommy met Mulan once." Emma told him. His eyes widened in awe.
"Really?" He gasped. Emma nodded. "You went all the way to China?" Emma shook her head.
"No, the movie got that wrong. She's from the Enchanted Forest like mommy and daddy. We met her when we went there before you were born." Neal stopped prancing round the living room and came and sat beside his big sister to hear more. "You know, your mommy once bet Mulan in a fight." Emma told Neal. His mouth opened wide, totally shocked by this news.
"And your daddy once trapped your mommy, so he's just as good as her." Henry added. Neal couldn't believe this. Maybe his mommy and daddy were better fighters than Mulan. Maybe.
