New skill?
Lama asked for a oneshot of Snow teaching Emma horse riding, but Emma already knows how to ride. Charming catches Emma alone on a horse and they talk. Emma then comes clean to Snow saying that Snow seemed so happy to teach her and she didn't want to let anyone down.
Charming thought something fishy was going on. Whenever he accompanied Snow and Emma on one of their horse riding lessons, Emma just seemed far too confident on a horse for a complete novice. No, there was definitely something weird going on.
One evening, Charming had decided to pop down to the stables by himself to check on the horses since the previous night had been rather stormy. That's when his suspicions were confirmed. He saw Emma going round the paddock on her horse. She was definitely a lot better than she had been letting on. Charming coughed, alerting Emma to his presence. She saw him standing there and grimaced. Caught. She got down from her horse and led him back over to the stables.
"I thought you had more skill than you've been letting on." Charming said. "What's going on, Emma? Why have you been pretending you don't know how to ride? When did you actually learn?"
"I went to a summer camp in Oklahoma City when I was a kid. I learned there." Emma came clean. "I guess it's like riding a bike. You just never really forget. Anyway, mom seemed so excited about having the chance to teach me something from your land. I didn't have the heart to tell her I could already ride…"
"You know, riding a horse isn't the only skill from our land I have." Came a voice from the stable door. Emma groaned. There was no going back now. Snow came over and stood beside Charming. "You should have just told me Em. There are tons of things both your dad and I are excited to show you. Just because you've learned this one doesn't mean you've learned them all. For example, do you have any proper archery experience?"
"Aside from watching the Olympics, not really." Emma said. "I went to another camp in Jackson where they had us do some kind of archery with stupid plastic bows and arrows with suction cups, but nothing with a real bow and arrows. Honest." Emma promised. Snow grinned.
"Well then, we'll move onto that then…"
"Hold on just a second." Charming butted in. "We agreed we'd take turns teaching her a new skill so she didn't get overwhelmed. I believe it's my turn now." Snow half smiled.
"Fair point." She agreed. Charming grinned triumphantly and turned back to Emma.
"So, I know you've had a little practice with a sword, but how about learning from a pro?" He suggested. Emma smiled.
"Sounds great."
