Making it up to the dwarves
GrantL1991 asked for a oneshot of *season 5 spoilers!* Emma apologising to the dwarves for what she did to them as the Dark One. She helps them out in the mines. Later that day they have dinner with Emma and Snowing where they are all happy.
There was still a lot Emma had to do to make things right after everything she done as the Dark One. Still a lot of hurt she had to make up for. There were still plenty of people left on Emma's list of apologies to make, and today's names to cross off were the dwarves. She had turned one of them to stone. It was no wonder they'd given her such a wide berth. So Emma headed down to the mines, were the dwarves were working away as they often were. They didn't even notice her when she appeared.
"Need a hand guys?" She offered. The dwarves stopped and stared at her. Some with fear, others love and of course, a couple with anger.
"We already seen what you can do with an axe, sister." Grumpy told her gruffly. "No thanks." Emma felt slightly deflated. She was here to offer an olive branch. Surely such good friends of her mother would accept? Emma used her new found good magic to create herself an axe. She hated the way it made them all flinch. "Please." She said. "I can't even begin to say how sorry I am for what I did as the Dark One. Please, let me try and make it up to you?" The dwarves gathered in a circle and started muttering between themselves. After a few moments, they broke apart and Doc stepped forward.
"Your help would be greatly appreciated Emma." Emma smiled. She understood their acceptance of her offer to work as an acceptance of her apology as well.
Later that evening, Emma was meeting her parents for dinner at Granny's. So you can imagine their surprise when not only did Emma step into the diner, but all seven dwarves too.
"I helped out the dwarves today in the mines. I hope you don't mind if they join us?"
"No, of course not." Charming said, as the dwarves got themselves settled and cooed over little Neal who was in Charming's arms. Both parents smiled at Emma. They knew how much she wanted to make it up to Emma. They'd tried to convince them as well but the dwarves were seemingly having none of it.
"You did good honey." Snow said quietly to her daughter, gently squeezing her hand. Emma smiled back at them, sinking into their booth. That was one less apology to make.
