Lost in the game

FanOfMost asked for a oneshot of, in honour of the Rio Olympics finishing, Emma and Charming watching a sporting event on TV and being very into it. Snow is trying to get their attention.

Whilst on topic of the Olympics can I just say how proud I am of team GB to be in second place. We haven't EVER done that well! Considering how small we are (there are about five Americans for every one Brit to give you a rough idea) I think it's phenomenal. Good job GB! Good luck to our Paralympians who we hope for great things from too!

"Aw come on! No way was that a foul!" I heard Emma complain loudly whilst Charming seemed to agree with her. I sighed. They weren't getting any quieter as the game went on.

It appeared they were watching basketball, from the few questions I asked before it became clear I wasn't meant to interrupt the game. The OSU Buckeyes (they were from Ohio State University in the city of Columbus, apparently) were facing the VCU Rams (Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond). Apparently I ask for too many details. Anyway, they were both doing my box in. Apparently indoor voices didn't exist when it came to watching sports. I dreaded having to draw their attention away from their precious game, but they may freak out a bit if they suddenly come out of their sporting coma and realise neither me nor Neal are present anymore. So I carefully walked up to the couch (being extra careful not to block the TV, they got real cranky if I did that) and coughed, signalling my presence. No response, nothing.

"Guys?" I tried. Still nothing. I had lost them to a large orange and black bouncy ball. "Emma, Charming." I tried, slightly more loudly this time. They still didn't so much as give any impression they had heard me. I was beginning to get annoyed now. This stupid game! "Emma! Charming!" I shouted, seriously thinking about grabbing the remote and switching it off. Luckily for everyone, they looked at me now.

"What's up Snow?" Charming asked me as though I hadn't just yelled at them both. I tried to remain calm.

"I need to pick up some more wipes for Neal. We'll be back soon."

"You're taking Neal with you? Why not just leave him here?" Emma asked. I only just managed to stop myself from grimacing at the idea.

"No, it's ok. You two enjoy the rest of your game. Hope your team wins." I said, taking Neal away. We could be getting burgled whilst the house was on fire and World War Three started outside in the streets of Storybrooke and I'm still not sure either of them would have noticed until their game ended. So no, I would just take Neal with me.
