Gender reveal
Elizabeth asked for a oneshot of…a read and see story :P
Emma had missed out on all the exciting pregnancy moments when she had Henry. Now that she was pregnant for the second time, she was going to enjoy every single one the best she could.
There was so much to take in over these nine months. Items to buy, scans, birthing plans, baby showers…there was so much to do.
Emma and Killian had decided they wanted to find out the baby's gender before the birth. They were of the opinion that knowing the gender might help them plan a little better. However, they didn't want to find out by themselves and reveal the secret. They wanted to find out at the same time as most of their loved ones. Snow was the one who drew the short straw and got the gender reveal from the doctor to make the cake. Not that she minded terribly…she didn't mind making the cake for her granddaughter. Snow smiled as she thought about it whilst she mixed up the pink cake mix. The first girl born in the family since Emma. She was so excited to be a grandma again. Or nana? Or mimi? There was plenty time to decide. Right now, she focused on getting this right for Emma and Killian. Charming had tried so many times to get her to tell him what the gender of their grandbaby was gonna be. Snow had only just held off telling him. He would find out tomorrow with everyone else.
She finished off mixing the batter and then washed her hands. She decided a quick pit stop was in order before continuing with the cake. So she headed towards the bathroom…
Whilst Snow was heading into the bathroom, she didn't notice Emma pull up in her bug. She'd left her favourite book over here the previous evening and since she was getting precious little sleep right now it was handy to have. Emma got out of her car and waddled towards the front door. She opened it up and headed inside, expecting her mom to be out. She last remembered seeing it on the kitchen counter, so that's where she looked. She waddled up and found her book sitting on the counter. Smiling, she grabbed it. That's when she noticed the bowl sitting close by it…the bowl filled with bright pink cake mix. Emma paled. Then she heard the toilet flush and that confirmed it. She'd walked in on her mom making the cake for the beg reveal tomorrow.
After then washing her hands again, Snow came out and saw Emma standing at the counter. She grinned sheepishly and held up her book.
"I came for this." She explained. "And I'll leave knowing I'm having a little girl." Snow was about to apologise for the surprise being ruined when she saw how elated Emma was. She ran over to her, squealing.
"You're having a little girl!" Snow repeated. She kissed her daughter's cheek. Emma smiled back before looking down at her belly. She smiled lovingly, placing her hands over it.
"My little girl." She breathed proudly. Snow smiled at her, her eyes shimmering.
"Yeah." She said, voice choked up with emotion. "It's a great feeling."
