At the Guild, all the adventurers were gathered with the group.

"Thank you all for coming. You are the last hope this town has." Luna thanked. "Cerul- er, I mean, DJ, has information regarding this crisis."

DJ nodded and tapped his headphones, showing a screen. It showed a giant arachnotronic fortress marching across the land.

"The Destroyer is coming at us from the North West. My younger sister, Piper, is in control of the thing and is planning to use it to crush Axel and everyone in it to dust. She probably has the thing going at top speed, so I say we have an hour at most."

"It looks tough." Ristarte said.

"Not to mention it isn't giving us a lot of time to prepare for it." Seiya said.

"Prepare?!" Rista asked. "Seiya, you can blast that thing to kingdom come! Why are you so uptight about fighting this thing?!"

"It likely has a magical barrier protecting it, like the one the blue dunderhead put up around the graveyard to keep the ghosts out." Seiya said. "My attacks won't do a thing to it with it up."

"Hmm…." Ethox asked. "Aqua, would it be possible for you to cast Sacred Dispel on the Destroyer and deactivate its barrier?"

Aqua thought over the question for a moment. "...I have no way to know unless I try."

"Then you're trying." DJ said. "That only leaves the armor. Unfortunately, it's so tough not even Explosion can kill it in one shot."

"You don't have to worry about that." Ethox said. "I'm gonna power up Megumin's explosion with a Discipline I've been working on. It should be enough to disable it so we can get inside."

"Right. But one last thing." DJ said. "The Destroyer has a self-destruct sequence. Once its down, Piper will likely activate it to try and kill us. Once she does, we'll only have about 10 minutes before everything in 10 miles is blown to kingdom come. We'll need to be fast."

"So, disable the Destroyer, get inside, stop the self-destruct, defeat Piper, then get out." Ethox said. "...Okay, listen up!" he told the rest of the adventures present, yet keeping his eyes on Kazuma. "This is going to be dangerous. There's a high chance some of us might get killed. So… if anyone wants to evacuate, now's the time. I won't stop you."

Kazuma was silent for a moment before he steeled his gaze and said:

"No way I'm gonna let some little brat take everything I've worked for here. She wants us dead? I say bring it on, you evil bitch!"

The adventures cheered at this declaration, Ethox smiling at the words.

"(Kazuma Sato… I guess I was wrong. You can take the pressure.)" the Nobody thought.

The adventurers prepared at the outer wall of Axel, building a stockade to prepare for the attack. Darkness stood out in front, stalwart in aiming to protect the town as Ultraman and Mirror Match were with her.

"Darkness, I don't really see the point in you being the first adventurer in the Destroyer's line of destruction." Mirror Match said. "I know you are one to crave pain and humiliation, but this does not seem-"

"I am a Knight. Given my usual behavior, I would know why you would suspect such behavior from me. But in a situation like this, would you think i would put desire over duty?" Darkness asked.

"...Do you really want us to answer that, Darkness?" Ultra asked. "Let's be honest: you can't hit anything with your sword, you get off on pain. Why be a knight, of all things?"

"Because in truth, the people here are my responsibility to protect. They may not know why or even care, but still it is my duty to protect them." Darkness said.

"Are you saying you have a connection to Axel?" Mirror Match asked.

"Yes." Darkness said. "My true given name… is Lalatina Dustiness Ford. I am part of the family that governs this entire land."

"You're a Noblewoman?" Mirror Match asked in surprise. "I… had no idea."

"If you wouldn't mind, mirror match. From one of Noble blood to another, please keep this a secret from the others." Darkness said. "I am a Knight, and thus I protect these people. It is my duty, and an honor."

"As you wish." Mirror Match smiled as the three looked out over the horizon.

"So… do you mind if we call you Lala-?" Ultra started to ask.

"NEVER CALL ME BY THAT NAME AGAIN!" Darkness yelled at Ultra.

It was only a matter of time before Destroyer finally made its presence felt, marching up over the hill and gazing upon its target. It was even bigger than on the screen DJ provided.

"Damn, it's even bigger in person." Ethox said as he saw Megumin shaking. "You nervous?"

"A-Admittedly, a little…" Megumin said.

"Don't worry, it'll be okay." Ethox said. "All you have to do is get ready. When I say now, unleash Explosion and watch what it does. Simple!"

"Are you sure this skill of yours will give me the power I need to blast it?" Megumin asked.

"To tell the truth, this is the first time I've ever used this discipline. But i know it can give you all the power you need." Ethox assured as the Destroyer grew closer. "Alright, it's show time! Aqua!"

Aqua summoned her staff and twirled it, summoning all her power. "Saaaaacreeeddd….DISPEL!" she called, firing a bright beam at Destroyer, hitting its barrier.

The magical barrier battled against the beam as the Destroyer was locked in a stalemate. The struggle lasted only a few moments before the goddess of water yelled and poured all her power into the beam, finally causing the barrier to fall.

"The barrier is down! Now its up to us!" Ethox said as he got into his chant stance. "My flock means more than life; let mine be given all I have. Lend me your power to give, grazers of the fields!" he then pointed his Keyblade at Megumin. "Discipline of the Sheep: Empowerment!"

It was then that Megumin's staff began to glow, when it faded, the Arch Wizard was left holding a Keyblade of her own, one that resembled her staff, the orb now a keychain hanging from the grap.

"Megumin, NOW!" Ethox yelled. "You can do it!"

"Thanks, Ethox… with this power, I can show you the most powerful explosion of all!" Megumin said. "Darkness blacker than black, darker than dark! Merge with my deep crimson, I beseech thee! The time of awakening has come! From the boundaries of righteousness, come oh justice, as an intangible distortion! EXPLOSION!"

Then, a massive beam of light exploded out of the Keyblade, heading straight at the Destroyer. Upon contact, the explosion covered the entire area in light. Once the glare faded, the Destroyer could be seen stumbling, before it collapsed right in front of Darkness, Mirror Match, and Ultra, who simply stood and stared at the creature.

"The Destroyer is down!" DJ said. "Alright, time to break some effin' fate! Let's move people!"

"(Huh… break fate…?)" Ethox wondered as his group, alongside Kazuma, Aqua, and DJ entered the fallen fortress.

The group blasted their way inside the cockpit, alongside several adventurers.

"Hey guys, look!" one of the adventurers pointed inside the room. "The pilot…"

Sitting in a single chair in the room was an old, dusty skeleton.

"If I had to guess… that must be the man who created this thing thousands of years ago." Ethox said. "But what was he thinking?"

"Here's his diary. Maybe this will shed some light on things." Ultraman said reading it. "Hmm… according to this, the kingdom who hired him forced him to build it. He tried to make it difficult to build by requesting an incredibly rare material as a power source, Coronatite. The kingdom found it, and reluctantly he was able to create the destroyer….. But it went wild and destroyed the kingdom it was made for. This man was trapped in here for years…. And unfortunately… he didn't have the foresight to design an off switch."

"...YOU ASSHOLE!" Kazuma yelled at the skeleton. "I can't believe this moron would forget something so basic!"

"Yes, he was rather simple, wasn't he?" a childish voice giggled from the darkness.

"...Piper…" DJ seethed.

"Oh, Cerulean…" the voice said. "Don't think I don't know what you did to Papa and the others, you big meanie~! What a nasty thing to do!"

"You're nasty, you crazy dog." DJ said. "I'm putting you down."

"Aw, you're such a jerk!" the voice said, feigning hurt. "I should kill you for that! But why would I, when I can have them do it for me~?"

Then, the haunting melody of a flute began to play. The other adventurers in the room then began to draw their weapons.

"Uh, Kazuma?" One of them said in worry. "You might want to duck-!"

"Wah!" Kazuma said as he narrowly avoided a sword to his neck. "Dust, what the hell man?!"

"It's not me! That music is making me move on my own!" the adventurer named Dust said as the other adventurers attack the rest of the group.

"This must be that girl's Talent!" Mirror Match said.

"Yeah…. Piper's Talent is called The Pied Piper. She uses her flute to control people's actions." DJ said. "The rest of the family would use her when they needed to make a murder look like suicide."

"But it doesn't make sense. How can she control this many people, and even a big-ass thing like Destroyer?" Ethox asked.

"Aww, is the big bad Nobody clueless~?" the voice giggled. "Well, too bad you won't find out in time to stop the self-destruct~!"

"Guys, don't worry about us!" Dust said. "Just get past us and stop the self-destruct!"

"Okay!" Ethox said as they headed to the Coronatite core, knocking aside the controlled adventurers as they went.

"Hurry!" Mirror ushered the group inside before he blocked the entrance with a crystal wall. "That should give us some time."

"Okay, how do we stop this thing from blowing up?" Ultra asked. "Uh, Aqua? Can you seal it?"

"What, me?" Aqua asked. "I can't do that."

"What?!" Ethox said.

"That's Aria's thing, not mine." Aqua said.

"Well what can we do? Unless we think of something fast, we're screwed." DJ said.

"What if we tried teleporting it away to somewhere that it'll blow up and not damage anything?" Ethox asked.

"Well, where would that be?" Kazuma said. "It'd have to be far away, out of the way, a place big enough to contain the blast, where nobody is… right now…" he trailed off before he got an idea. "The mansion…"

"Wait, you mean-?" Ethox asked.

"I can't believe I'm saying this… send it to the mansion!" Kazuma said.

"Okay then! Match, can you use that wall as a mirror?" Ethox asked.

"I most certainly can!" Mirror said as he used magic on it to turn the crystal wall into a mirror showing the mansion grounds. "Now, hurry!"

"Buzzwole, Guzzlord, throw that core into the portal wall!" Ultra ordered, bringing out the two Ultra Beasts who grabbed the core together and threw it into the mirror portal, allowing Mirror Match to change the wall back.

"I can't believe you wanted to sacrifice our base like that, Kazuma." Ethox said.

"Well, I'm sad to see it go, but… what's one mansion for the whole town?" Kazuma said. "Plus if I didn't, I'd never hear the end of it from some people. (David, most of all.)"

Ethox smiled. "Kazuma… I had some doubts about whether or not you were one but… there's no doubt in my mind. You are a hero. And more than that… you ARE, without a doubt, one of the Ten Isekai Heroes. So, there's something I have to say… Kazuma Sato… please join the Fatebreakers!"

"Fatebreakers?" Ultra said. "Is that what we're calling ourselves?"

"Yeah. DJ gave me the idea for it when he called out time to break fate." Ethox said. "We're gonna break the fate Theo's been forced into and stop the Cycle of the Stars!"

Kazuma sighed. "There's no way I'm sayin' no to this, am i?"

"Nope." Ethox shook his head. "Look, I know life here hasn't really been the best for you. You've got nowhere to live, you're partner isn't that great (Hey!) and you have to work hard to make ends meet. But… you've got the heart of a hero Kazuma. Even if you're not as strong or skilled as the other heroes… you're more than worthy to stand with them."

"...You really think so?" Kazuma asked.

"I know so." Ethox replied. "And anyone who tells you otherwise just doesn't know you that well."

"...Y'know, I might be going crazy: you're making sense." Kazuma chuckled. "Alright, I'll join-"

*CRASH*

The crystal wall broke as the controlled adventurers broke into the room, flanking a little girl in a green robe, looking angry.

"You big jerks! You ruined everything!" The girl who was undoubtedly Piper raged. "You broke my big toy, took out the bomb, and saved the day! Oh, I'm gonna enjoy having these guys tear you apart!"

"Piper…" DJ said. "We're done here. Just walk away and you can leave."

"Nuh-uh!" Piper shook her head. "You're done here! For good!" she said, pulling out her flute. Before she could start playing it however, a crystal shot out and hit the instrument, breaking it. "...M-My flute! You broke my flute!"

"Apologies, but you're playing leaves something to be desired." Mirror Match said.

"And now that you're without your instrument, you're finished." Ethox said. "I hope you enjoy a cell with your brother and sister, because you're going to jail."

Piper Rhyme just stood there before she started bawling. "WAAAAHHH! No fair, no fair! You cheated!" she cried as he laid on the floor and threw a tantrum.

"Wow… she's a brat." Aqua said.

"YOU'RE ONE TO TALK!" everyone else in the room yelled.

Ethox's Final Journal Entry:

So, with Piper finally taken care of and going to jail, the threat of the Mobile Fortress Destroyer was eliminated. Of course, Seiya had a field day blasting the thing with skill after skill, but nothing got damaged other than that, so he's getting better at keeping things contained.

Speaking of which, it was our lucky day! Our mansion was still standing, in one piece! I thought for sure we teleported the Coronatite core to it, but apparently thanks to Kazumas high Luck Stat, that didn't happen. I wonder where it did end up though….? Ah, I'm sure it's not important.

Anyway, Kazuma's on the team as Isekai Hero Number 6. And, reluctantly, Aqua insisted that she wanted to join too. She says it's her ticket back to the Unified Divine Realm, but I think she's grown to like Kazuma and us. Her cuddling Ultra's Nihilego during the victory celebration is my evidence of that. She loves that thing…

This is my last entry in this journal. I'm gonna have to pick up a new one when we get to the next world. Where that is, I don't know, but one thing is for sure… as long as we're together, no matter how hard the path is…

...we'll stick to it, no matter what.
