A/N: This story relates to my own personal experience in having blisters, a long time ago. It was not fun yet seemed to come out as another cool story idea for Steel and me.
Macy Monroe, Tommy and the Mystery Crusaders with Andy and Marcus, Tina and Amy Fitzpatrick belong to me. Sage Jocklin belongs to Steelcode. Rachel and Sasha Jocklin, Megan, along with the Grant Mansion, belong to GoldGuardian2418. Ultimate Whampire named Vamps was created by guestsurprise. The rest belongs to their respected owners.
Paging Doctor Frankenstrike, Please
The day started like any other. Macy and Tommy Monroe were walking to the Grant Mansion to see their friends. While going, the Brunette was moving as if she were in pain.
"Ugh, stupid blisters," Macy muttered.
After all the running and moving she's been doing lately, Macy had come across some nasty blisters.
"Macy, it's safe to say that you should tell someone about this and get them checked out," Tommy replied.
"No way! I do not need anyone touching nor checking my feet!" Macy argued, being stubborn on the subject.
Tommy just sighed in defeat. He was really concerned about Macy's condition.
Sage was laying on a large cushion on the front porch. His paws were wrapped with blue bandages. Hearing Macy's voice, Sage's head popped up, as he saw them coming up the path.
"AAAAAAAAWWWWWWRRRRRRROOOOOOO!" Sage howled from his spot, as his tail thumped on the porch.
Turning their heads, the two siblings smiled at seeing a familiar wolf.
"Hey, Sage!" Tommy exclaimed, running faster to meet him.
"What up, Wolf Boy?" Macy smiled, trying to ignore the pain while walking towards her love.
"More importantly, why are your paws wrapped in blue tape? Were you pranked?" Tommy asked.
Sage sighed. "No. It was one of the more active and chaotic mornings, and let's just say one thing led to another. Which led to a coffee cup falling and breaking with hot coffee with me still asleep walking right into it. I burned my paws and got cut up on the shards."
"Ouch. And I thought Macy's blisters were painful," Tommy cringed, only to get smacked in the head by Macy.
Sage looked at Macy in concern. "My moon, have you been in pain? Why didn't you tell me?"
"It's been a few days since I discovered them, ok? They weren't hurting until this morning. I just didn't want you to worry," Macy answered.
"And she's been very stubborn about asking for help on checking them," Tommy added.
"Shut up!" The Brunette growled.
Sage looked at Macy with concern. "Mace, maybe you should see Frankenstrike. Maybe he has something that could help," he suggested.
"Yeah! Frankenstrike is a great alien scientist doctor! He should be able to get your feet feeling great again in no time!" Tommy agreed in eagerness.
Macy just shook her head. "Oh, no! Nu-uh! No way! I am not going to have that Transylian examine me!"
"Come on, sis! Your feet are in super, agonizing pain. What do you got to lose?" Tommy asked.
Sage sighed. "Mace, I can go in with you, if you're nervous. Besides, Frankenstrike won't tickle your feet. Maybe do a scrap and help you relax, though."
"I am not nervous! And fine! I guess having Sage around would give me some company incase Frankenstrike over does it," Macy grumpily said, folding her arms while rolling her eyes.
"Can I come, too? I want to take some pics on Macy's blisters and send it to the Mystery Crusaders!" Tommy raised his hand.
Sage growled. "No, you can go and play video games upstairs."
"Awww, man! But I'll miss out on seeing all the cool yet gross parts!" Tommy whined.
"You heard him, Tommy. Now go!" Macy ordered, pointing to the stairs.
Tommy groused under his breath, as we moved upstairs.
Sage chuckled, as he wincingly got to his feet. "We're quite the pair, aren't we? Both with sore feet and making it difficult to walk."
"I guess so," Macy muttered. "Let's just get this over with," she said, slowly making her way to Frankenstrike's lab.
Sage walked beside her, high stepping in a way because of his paws.
"Uncle," Sage called, as he entered.
Frankenstrike turned from the machine he was working on. "Sage? Are you all right? Paws hurting?"
Sage shook his head. "No, I have another patient for you."
"Hey, Frankenstrike. Sage wanted me to come see you since my feet hurt from having some blisters," Macy replied, as if it were no big deal.
Frankenstrike stood up immediately, picking both Sage and Macy up in his arms before setting them on an exam table.
"Shoes and socks off, please," The Transylian requested.
Macy sighed, as she did exactly what Frankenstrike asked her to.
"When did they first appear? Also, what's the pain level been since now?" Frankenstrike asked, as he brought over a cart of tools.
"Uh, well, they showed up a few days ago, but didn't actually hurt until later this morning," Macy answered. "As for pain level, I'd say around an eight or seven," she replied, moving her hand in an even level.
"Hmm. Have you been using different or new shoes?" Frankenstrike asked, as he brought a bowl of warm water over with a towel before taking her left foot in his hand.
"No. I've been using the same black sneakers I wear for as long as I can remember," the brunette gently answered.
"Hmmm. I'm going to give your feet a warm wash, then I'll take samples," Frankenstrike said, bringing the tub of warm water over on another cart before setting her feet in it. "Let them soak for a minute."
"Okay," Macy replied, a bit surprised on how her feet in warm water felt a little better.
After Frankenstrike left, Sage wiggled a little on the table till he was encircling Macy with his head in her lap. "You okay?"
"Surprisingly...yeah. My feet tingle while being submerged in water, but it seems to help with the pain. You?"
Sage smiled. "Soaking them before helped me a lot. It just feels weird having my paws wrapped."
Macy nodded her head in agreement. "Your uncle is really helpful."
"So, why were you so against coming, then?" Sage asked, curiously.
Macy shrugged before sighing "I don't know. I just got this thing about not having people touch my own feet. And, from all the visits here, I wasn't sure about trusting Frankenstrike in checking them. Guess I was being a bit paranoid and jumping conclusions for no reason."
Sage nuzzled Macy's hand. "You know, they only tickle you to cheer you up. If you're not feeling up to it, then they won't tickle you. Heck, today, when I burned my paws, no one tickled me. They just cuddled with me,"
"Huh...I really did miss the point in your family's actions," Macy replied, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly.
"Hey, believe me, it takes a while to get used to all this." Sage said.
Macy smiled. "Oh, I believe you, alright."
"All right, Macy, lift up your feet, please," Frankenstrike said, as he brought over a towel.
"You got it, Dr. F-Strike," Macy replied, lifting her feet up for Frankenstrike to dry.
Frankenstrike smiled, as he dried the feet carefully. He sensed his patient putting her full trust in him. Then, gradually felt the blisters on her feet, giving a little pressure here and there, before scraping the bottom of her feet onto a slide.
"Have your feet been itchy at all or overly swollen?" Frankenstrike asked, as he set the slide up under the microscope.
"Not more than usual, no. I only feel itchy or swollen on my feet when I wear uncomfortable high heel shoes or if I overdue my running or game playing or any athletic subjects," Macy explained.
"Hmmm," Frankenstrike said, as he looked into the microscope. "Seems that your feet have become very irritated. Probably been rubbed raw in your shoes. That, added to your activities, have made the blisters possible."
"You mean that my shoes got worn out so much that they gave me blisters?" Macy asked, grabbing one of her shoes to look inside to see. Turns out, there weren't any padding left in the shoes.
"More than likely so," Frankenstrike said. "Besides your shoes, though, your blisters are infected. You'll need to soak your feet and apply cream, along with trying to stay off them, for a while."
"Okay. What kind of cream? And how long do I have to stay off?" Macy asked.
"I have a cream here that will work. As for the time off, if you stick to my instructions, I'd say…about a week or less. However, did you know you were gaining flat feet?"
"Gaining flat feet?" Macy questioned, totally confused.
"Yes, your natural arch in your foot is flattening out," Frankenstrike said. "It would also add to your blisters."
"Aw, great," Macy groaned.
Frankenstrike chuckled. "Not to worry. A set of inner soles will help. Put them in your new shoes and combat shoes, and you should be fine. Now, I'm going to wash your feet, along with going to put a bit of cream on them."
"Alright," Macy nodded her head. "And Frankenstrike...thanks."
Frankenstrike smiled. "Glad to help. Now, I might scrub a little hard, but that's just to help get them clean. Once the bath and cream are applied, I'll wrap them up and put wool socks on for protection."
Sage sighed. "Well, yet another week of bored to look forward to."
"Don't worry, Wolf Boy. I'm sure we'll find something to entertain ourselves during our wait," Macy assured.
Sage exhaled again. "Yeah, but...it's easier for you. You're not stuck like I am."
"Again with that subject? Have you learned nothing from our last encounter with your two giant To'Kustar uncles? You have to be patient," Macy reasoned, remembering that struggling day. "Besides, I'm sure there's a bunch of fun stuff you can do in your wolf form. You can hear if anyone is close by to greet or hide from. Or give one of your family members a 'welcome home' doggie entrance involving lots of licks. Or you can just use your form to tickle any of your family members using your paws, snout, tongue, and bushy tail."
Sage began to laugh heartily. Only his moon could give him the answers he needed to hear.
"But what do I know?" Macy teased, playfully elbowing Sage.
Sage smiled, curling closer to Macy. "No, you're right, I'm impatient." All was quiet before Sage spoke again. "Um...Macy...um..."
"Yeah?" The brunette questioned.
"Well...I was...I was...just-just wondering if...if that is...if you had..."
"Come on, Sage! Spit it out!" Macy replied, curious on knowing what her wolf is trying to tell her.
"Iwantedtoknowwhatyourdreamweddingwouldbelike!" Sage said, rapidly, halfway embarrassed for asking.
Macy blinked in confusion. "Uh...Mind slowing that question down a bit? I didn't get it,"
Sage groaned. "I wanted to know what your dream wedding would be like?" he said, looking away embarrassed.
Macy stared at Sage blankly, her cheeks blushing a bit. "Ooooh…Well, if that ever happens, I guess my dream wedding would be somewhere simple yet nice. One where all our friends and family can benefit. Out of your curiosity, what made you think of that subject?"
Sage blushed heavily through his fur. "Um...I... I was recently talking to Aunt Rachel and the others about wedding photos, and I guess I was curious. They're thinking of an ocean-themed wedding."
"Ocean-themed wedding, huh? Sounds a bit too fishy for us, don't you think?" Macy joked with a smirk.
Sage chuckled. "Maybe...honestly, if I was going to be married, I would hope to have the forest as the place where I promise myself to you...OH! I mean that I...OH!" The Wolfblood gapsed, as he realized his mistake and hid himself underneath his paws.
Macy looked at her love with a smile. "I think the forest sounds perfect. Maybe we can decorate it with the moon flowers in our sacred garden."
Sage gave a smile. "Yeah...maybe, for colors, we go with an almost silvery blue and white?"
"Sounds perfect,"
Sage gulped. "Um…have you thought about...who you'd want to marry? ...I mean...that is..."
"Well, not yet. But if I did, I'd say it had to be a strong, caring, and loyal Wolfblood that I know," Macy smirked.
Sage blinked in utter shock. "Seriously? I...I.." Sage was utterly stumped. He had always hoped he and Macy would be together forever, but he never thought Macy would feel the same.
"Sage, I wouldn't change my feelings about you. If we ever do end up marrying each other one day, then I want it to be special with who I love," Macy explained.
Sage smiled, leaning close to her, and licking her cheek. "You're amazing...I don't know what I did to be blessed with you."
"Same here, Wolf Boy...Same here," Macy smirked, nuzzling her face against Sage's.
"All right, Macy, I'm done with the bath. Now, for the cream and bandaging," Frankenstrike said, as he began lathering cream all over her foot.
"Appreciate it, Frankenstrike," Macy replied.
A few minutes later, the Transylian was all done finishing up by placing some thick socks over her feet. "There. Now, remember, stay off your feet. I've asked one of the family to give both you and Sage a lift to his room."
"Really? Which one?" Macy asked, curiously.
"Us!" responded two voices.
Sage looked up finding Chromastone and Sugilite entering.
Chromastone came to Sage's side, rubbing his head. "You two just can't stay in one piece, can you?"
Sugilite gently ruffled Macy's hair. "It seems so."
"Hey! Give us a break, we're not made of stone as you two," Macy commented.
Sugilite chuckled. "Yes, but you two get into more trouble than we do."
"That is not true! We don't get into a lot of trouble," the Brunette remarked.
Chromastone chuckled. "Really? I can name four."
"Oh, yeah?"
"Let's see…there was the time when Tommy was turned into a cat, the time you were captured with Sage mind-controlled, on Anur Transyl, and of course Sage and your fight which led to you being captured," Chromastone replied, numbering the following.
"Okay, the one involving Tommy was something we handled. Same with the rest," Macy argued.
Sage sighed. "Come on, that's enough. Please, just help us upstairs."
"Yes, please take us upstairs," Macy deadpanned.
Chromastone sighed. "Kids, we are sorry. We were out of line," he said, before scooping Sage into his arms.
"Yes, we went too far. I'm sorry," Sugilite said, picking Macy up.
Sage sighed. "It's only cause you care."
"Even if you do get under our skins sometimes," Macy point out.
Chromastone chuckled. "Well, how about some of my famous hot chocolate, and warm milk with honey and cinnamon for you, Sage?"
Sage licked his lips. "Yes, please."
"Is it just for him or do I get some, too?" Macy asked.
"The milk with honey and cinnamon is for him, the hot chocolate is for you." Chromastone chuckled.
"Okay. Just checking," Macy smiled.
Gently, Sage's uncles set them on the bed before leaving them, with their feet propped up.
Sage sighed. "I just hope this is my last injury, for a while."
"Only time will tell. If that actually does happen again with either one of us, we'll be sure to stay together. No matter what," Macy replied.
Sage rolled over, resting his head once again in Macy's lap. "That I can definitely agree to."
Macy chuckled, before petting on the Wolf Blood's head gently. "I love you, Sage."
"I love you, too," Sage said, with a rumble like purr.
And there you have it. Another good collab that Steel and I created together. Please, no flame reviews. Also, stay safe, everyone.
