Young but strong
Aurora asked for a oneshot of Snowing having Emma as teenagers. The struggles of being 18 year old royals with a one year old, but they wouldn't give it up for anything because they love their lives and they love Emma.
"Do we have to go to this meeting?" Snow groaned. She was lying on the floor of Emma's nursery whilst Emma played with her dollhouse. She reached to her side and picked up her baby girl, placing Emma on her belly. "This lil monster made sure we didn't get any sleep last night and we're both exhausted." Snow said, blowing a raspberry on Emma's cheek, delighting in her giggles. Charming sighed, plonking himself down beside his wife and daughter. He smiled as Emma reached out for him. He picked her up and sat Emma on his lap as Snow scooted over and rested her head on Charming's lap herself.
"I'm afraid we do." He grumbled. "They all already think we're not capable of being good rulers, let alone good parents, because we're young. We missed that meeting a couple of months ago and there are still some people making snide remarks about it. You know a few of those higher up in the council are threatening to take control of the kingdom until you're twenty-five. We can't let them rule this place for seven years. They'd have the poor starve to death." He reminded her. Snow sighed as she sat up, still leaning against him.
"I guess you're right." She admitted. "I just can't be bothered with some of these stupid meetings. Half of them are pointless. I'd much rather spend time with you and our little princess." Charming kissed the top of both Emma and Snow's heads.
"I know, I would too, but until we're older and don't have to take their nonsense we need to play by their rules. I know half the council are old fashioned and cold hearted but we need to put up with it just now. They still have some measure of control even though we're in charge. We need to think about Emma too. When we announced our pregnancy not long after we got married most of them suspected she was conceived out of wedlock. Not that it would have mattered to us if she was, but they lost it. Most of them would still prefer we have her cast out to some random couple to be raised by them since we're young and clearly can't cope with being parents and rulers." Charming scoffed. He hated the way they viewed his little girl. She was no mistake, she was planned. They didn't care that they were young. They wanted to get married and have a baby so that's exactly what they did.
Snow instinctively reached out and took Emma back onto her own lap, curling her arms around her protectively. Her blood boiled when she thought about the way they tried to convince both of them to give up their baby.
"So we have to show them that we can do both, even if it means being the rulers they want for a few years. Otherwise they'll start up on their snide remarks about giving Emma away 'for everyone's best interests'. We can do this, Snow. We're good rulers to this kingdom, and we're good parents. We can nap after this stupid meeting. Emma will be fine with her nanny for a little bit." Snow pouted, but knew he was right. They loved ruling their kingdom fairly, and they loved their baby girl. They could do this, no matter what age they were.
