Deranged
IwKa asked for a oneshot of *season 6 spoilers!* Hyde attacking Emma- like in the promo- and escaping. Then her parents find her. (minor Killian).
"I'll only be in there for a few minutes." Emma protested.
"So what difference does it make if someone goes in with you?" Charming pointed out. "It doesn't even have to be one of us, you can choose who. Killian can go in with you if you'd rather. As a sheriff don't you think it's a little irresponsible going solo on this one when he's so dangerous?"
"I don't need Killian, or anyone else, to go in there with me." Emma said stubbornly. "With Hyde it's best to not give him the opportunity to play people against each other. That seems to be what he specialises in. I'm going in there and getting this statement with just the recording tape for company. It's two-way glass. You'll be able to see everything that's going on." Emma reminded her parents. Neither liked the idea of her going in there alone, but at the end of the day they knew she was right that Hyde would take any opportunity to play people against each other. Snow gave a brisk nod with a small smile.
"Well we'll wait right here then." She said. "Just-"
"I'll be careful." Emma promised, without needing her mom to finish the warning. She then headed into the room where Hyde was still safely chained down. He was too strong for normal handcuffs. His were industrial strength and nailed to the ground with enough give to let him walk around the room. When Emma entered, he was standing at the opposite side of the room, looking out the window. He didn't turn around when Emma came in.
"When am I free to leave?" He asked quietly.
"Once you've answered my questions and I've decided you're not a threat to the people of this town." Emma responded. So why don't you come and sit down and things will go much quicker that way?" Snow and Charming practically had their noses pressed against the glass. They didn't trust Hyde at all and didn't like Emma in there alone with him.
"I'm not answering your idiotic questions. You have no right to keep me caged up in here like an animal. I have important work to attend to. Not that you'd understand. If you do not release me right now there will be drastic consequences. Consider yourself warned." Emma scoffed. Hyde didn't like that one bit. His hands curled into tight fists at the insolence.
"I make the orders here. Not you. Now sit down and let's get this over with." Emma was about to step forward herself towards her chair when suddenly Hyde charged up to her. Emma pressed her back flat against the wall, but he still got his hands wrapped around her neck.
Suddenly, the door flew open and Snow and Charming came running into the room. Hyde was furious enough that he was able to rip the chain from the floor and dash out the door and out the station. Emma was on her knees, coughing. Hyde had probably bruised her windpipe. Charming helped her to her feet and over to the chair.
"Go after him." She spluttered. "He's dangerous." Charming pulled out his walkie from his pocket. Currently the dwarves had one as well so they could help the station out.
"Guys, we need you to hunt down Hyde. He got out. You still have some of the tranquiliser darts?"
"We do. On it." Grumpy crackled through the walkie. Charming put it back in his pocket.
"He's being taken care of. Do we need to take you to the hospital?" Emma shook her head, rubbing her throat as she tried to clear it. Snow got her a glass of water which she gratefully accepted.
"Nah, I'm good. Not the first time this kind of thing has happened." Emma caught the alarmed look on both her parents' faces. "I was a bail bondsperson. People get desperate. This one guy in Jefferson City tried to scale a building to get away. Ended up with a broken pelvis. Trust me, I'm fine."
"If you're sure." Charming sighed. "I think when the dwarves catch him again we'll use a different interview tactic. Maybe I should…"
"I'm finishing this." Emma declared. "I'm not having him think I'm running away or hiding behind my dad." Charming rubbed his temple. Why did she have to be so darn stubborn? He then looked at Snow who grimaced. What could they do?
"Ok, fine. But could you do it through the cell bars at least? There's no point in giving him more chances to escape." Emma wasn't thrilled with that plan, but agreed it was a good compromise.
"Deal." She agreed. "He's not getting out this time." Snow and Charming certainly agreed with that. He'd put his hands on Emma. Big mistake.
