No way out

captainswan2000 asked for a oneshot of Emma, Killian, Charming and Snow getting stuck somewhere unable to get out. Emma tries using her magic, but she fails. After a few attempts she is becoming dizzy. Her parents forbid her from attempting it again but she does it anyway. She ends up so weak that she collapses and can hear her father saying angrily "That's it, we're done with that."

I'll deliberately leave the villain ambiguous so regardless of where you are in the series you can read this chapter :).

"Give it up, love. It's no use." Killian told Emma. "We're locked in here until someone finds us and lets us out.

"No." Emma grunted, wiggling her fingers to try and get some feeling back in them again. "I'm not letting them turn Storybrooke to ruins while we just sit here on our asses doing nothing. I have magic. I'll get us out of here." Snow and Charming just let her get on with it. They knew her magic wasn't going to work right now, but if it made her feel like she was doing something then they saw no point in stopping her. That was until they noticed after her latest attempt to free them, she swayed on her feet. They then noticed that a fair amount of the colour had drained from her face.

"Right, enough." Snow said firmly from where she and Charming stood. "You'll be no good to anyone in Storybrooke if you've used up all your energy wasting your magic on that door."

"Conserve your strength, Emma." Charming said, agreeing with Snow. "You're gonna need it." Emma looked to Killian for backup, but he just shrugged and gave a small smile. Emma scowled. How could he side with her parents?! Emma wasn't one for just doing as she was told. She was fine. She'd just gone too fast, that was all. She took a few deep breaths to steady herself before again aiming her magic at the door. This time, she felt her knees begin to wobble. She started seeing big black spots. Before she knew what was happening she was falling. Luckily, Killian was close by and stepped in, stopping her from hitting the ground. Snow and Charming were furious (but not completely surprised). They knew if she kept trying something like this would happen.

"That's it, we're done with that." Charming said firmly. Even in her half-conscious state Emma heard him and knew she was for it.

"Put her by the water bucket please, Killian. I'll sort her out." Killian did as Snow asked him. Snow tore off a small section of her cardigan and dunked it in the water before dabbing it against Emma's forehead.

When Emma opened her eyes again, the first thing she saw was her mom's disapproving- if slightly relieved- face. She smiled at her sheepishly.

"So I don't think my magic's gonna work on that door." Emma said. Snow didn't smile. Emma sat up groggily against the back wall. "I just wanted us out of here." She grumbled.

"We know." Charming said more gently. "But we did try and tell you that wasn't the best way to go about it. Your magic is still new, Emma. Your body's still adjusting to it. Be patient. We'll get out of here soon enough." Emma nodded glumly. Every new second they stayed in there was too long a wait for her.
