Seeing things blurry
FanOfMost asked for a oneshot of Emma being present during Snowing's argument in "Shattered Sight" and hearing Snow saying "Well he's a doctor. He actually knows which part is which."
Grateful reader: I'm really glad you're enjoying the stories but I need to stick to sequel requesting rules!
I'm going to edit what Snow said slightly and change the timing of this line because I can't find it being said so I'm fitting it in behind what Charming said.
A warning that you might not like either Snow or Charming in this chapter.
"I can't believe I had children with you." Snow spat, looking Charming dead in the eye. Emma raised her eyebrows as she bounced Neal up and down.
"Lovely." She muttered under her breath. This was going to be a long wait for Elsa to stop her aunt.
"Who knows? Maybe you didn't. The baby could be Whale's!" Charming responded bitterly. Snow rolled her eyes and stomped to the other side of her cell as Charming did the same. Emma couldn't help but feel a little vomit come up at the memory of her mom sleeping with the resident doctor of Storybrooke. Of course Neal was her father's son though, she had slept with Whale two years ago!
"Well he's a doctor. He actually knows which part is which." Snow quipped back. This did not help Emma's queasiness. Emma didn't know that both her parents were periodically looking at her and Neal, and so both had seen her look of disgust at the mention of Snow sleeping with Whale.
"Oh grow up, Emma." Snow snapped. Emma looked up, she had hoped to avoid interacting with her parents, or even Kristoff, while they were still cursed. "Just because you like to make interaction with you impossible doesn't mean you have to get so squeamish at any hint of intimacy." Emma didn't know how to respond.
"She doesn't mean that." Anna said, resting her hand on Emma's arm.
"Hey, ginger! Don't you tell me how to parent my child." Snow barked. Anna was affronted. It didn't help when Kristoff laughed.
"She gets involved in everything that isn't her business. Don't feel special." Kristoff grumbled. Anna went to respond, but Emma took her hand and shook her head. It was best to avoid confrontation when they were like this.
"Don't even get me started on who's she might be!" Charming suddenly piped up. "I mean who knows who you were sleeping around with back there…"
"We. Were. Cursed!" Snow suddenly screamed. Neal clearly didn't like the sound of his mother yelling and decided to start crying himself. Emma was secretly relieved. It was a good excuse to leave.
"I'm going to take him outside to calm in down. You ok in here for a few minutes?" Anna nodded, so Emma took little Neal out to the front of the station until he stopped crying. Even then, Emma just stood for a moment with her head resting against the wall.
"It'll all be over soon, buddy." She promised him. At least she hoped it was a promise that she could keep. She didn't want it to go on any longer either.
