Very close friends

thatsadiegirl12 asked for a oneshot of Snow telling Emma that she's bisexual and that her and Red dated at one point before she met Charming. Will contain season 5b spoilers.

So obviously some people might not like the pairing in this chapter, if so, just skip it.

"I still can't believe Red's with Dorothy." Emma said from her booth as Storybrooke's latest couple were making lovey dovey eyes to each other over the counter. Snow smiled around the rim of her mug of hot chocolate.

"Why? I think they suit each other. Besides, Red woke her from a sleeping curse so they must be true loves.

"Well yeah, they obviously are." Emma said, obviously uncomfortable with the subject matter. "What I meant was, I didn't know Red was gay." She confirmed. Snow smiled in a weird way.

"I did." She said quietly. Emma looked at her mom, clearly wanting more details. "Isn't it in Henry's book? The Author must have chosen to leave it out. It didn't last very long, after all."

"What didn't last very long?" Emma prompted her.

"Red and I. We had a little fling back home." Emma spat out the hot chocolate that had been in her mouth. She had no idea! Snow laughed slightly at her daughter's look. "It's not that surprising, when you think about it. We were in close proximity for quite a long time and under very tense circumstances. We were young, experimental. I always thought there was something attractive about both sexes." Emma couldn't deny she was a little shocked. She had no idea her mom was bisexual. "It didn't last long between us though. We quickly worked out the love we shared was that of friendship and even sisterhood, not romance. I met your dad about a month after we broke up and the rest is history."

"Does dad know?" Emma asked. Not that this was a conversation she'd be carrying on at dinner, but it might be handy to know.

"About me liking both genders or Red and I? Either way, of course he does. We have no secrets from each other. All he cares about is that we truly love each other. He knows no person, male or female, will ever be more in my eyes than he is. He doesn't care, it's no issue to him. He's never felt awkward around Red either. He knows we're just good friends…it's not a problem for you, is it?"

"No." Emma responded quickly. She didn't care. Like she said, her parents were happy, her mom was happy, her dad was happy. That was all that mattered. "It's just not everyone who can say their mom had a thing with who would have been their godmother." Emma teased her. Snow laughed. She had never thought about it that way before.
