Simon woke up. Floating on a piece of wood, he rolled over into the water. He hit sand. The whole area was shallow; a coastal shelf. There must've be an island nearby.

He looked around, seeing Finn and Jake. The sun was almost up, still not dawn yet. He looked around, seeing Marceline on the floor. She appeared to have been banged up by the ship quite a bit. However, due to her vampiric powers, she was likely to heal soon enough.

He looked around and noticed land in the distance. He bent down, picking Marceline up without waking her. He made the trek toward land with her in his arms. He spotted some trees ahead, placing her beneath it as the first rays of the sun appeared.

He walked back to Finn and Jake. He gently shook the boys awake. Finn looked around drowsily before snapping fully awake. The first thing on his mind was Flame Princess. He looked back in horror at the broken ship. No way she could have survived that. Before Simon could react, Finn ran towars the ship, looking around. He ran toward the end of the shelf and jumped into the water.

Water Princess and Peppermint Butler approached, Peppermint Butler slightly disfigured from the rain from the storm. The storm had passed, but the sky was still a grey hue.

"Where's Finn?" Water Princess asked.

Simon gestured with his head, nodding toward the sea. Finn came up, panting.

"I don't see her," he breathed.

It was at that moment Water Princess and Jake realized what Finn had been doing. Sure, Flame Princess could handle water, but an entire ocean?

"We need to move," Simon said. "That isn't the right island."

He gestured toward the island he had placed Marceline on. He started walking back toward the island when his foot touched something. Bending down, he realized it was the sun block Marceline had. He picked it up from the shallow water.

"We can't just leave!" Finn protested.

"I know," Simon started. "But we're on a mission here. We can't afford to lose anymore time. We have to stop the Keeper."

"I'm staying. I don't care how long it takes. She has to be around here somewhere."

"Finn, we need you. We're already down one, we can't lose another."

The calm voice Simon had, which was to not freak Finn out, only served to piss Finn off.

"You don't even care, do you?" Finn asked as Simon paced back and forth.

At that, Simon stopped, walking toward Finn, neither too fast, nor too slow. He raised his hand in a fist and punched Finn hard.

"You think I don't know how much she means to you?! We are talking about the potential extinction of all live in the universe if the Keeper succeeds. Maybe you'd see that if you weren't blind with love. How can call yourself a hero if you can't even prioritize the right things?"

His voice went from yelling to almost whispering in his rant. Those last few lines had stung Finn. Finn could see Simon's hands were clenched into fists, and he was trembling.

He grabbed Simon, pushing him into the water. He grabbed Simon's shirt pulling him upward. Simon's eyes went wide in horror, and only then did Finn realize his sword had activated in his anger. He tried to will it back, struggling to make his arm obey him. After he regained control, he calmed down.

The group decided it would have to carry on with six.

They reached the island, which Simon once again reminded them was the wrong island. The island had a dense jungle area, with shade everywhere, but he still held onto the sun block. He shook Marceline gently.

"Marcy, wake up." Her eyes fluttered open before she realized she was not on the ship.

"What happened?"

"The storm ripped apart the ship. We're stranded. If my guess is correct, we're still a ways from the island of the legend."

Marceline looked at the group. Before she could vocalize her question, Simon put his finger to his mouth. He indicated Finn with his head. Marceline was still confused, but Simon's message got across.

Simon reached into his pocket, grabbing his compass. He picked up a stick in the ground and drew a crude replica of the map in the sand. He studied his sketch, and decided which direction to go. He walked in the direction opposite the sun (west) and slightly north. The group navigated through the jungle area, using Finn's sword to cut pathways through plants and vines.

At the same time, Flame Princess was in the strange cavern she had woke up in.

"Who are you?" She asked the stone creature. "What am I doing here?"

The flame-proof suit she had on had a large tear, and her helmet was cracked.

"What happened?"

"Princess, I rescued you from the storm. I am Nanam, and I know you and your friends have been searching for me."

She pulled off the suit.

"My friends?"

"Yes, young one. They are on another island, not far from here, but it will take a few days to them to reach this place."

"Finn..." Flame Princess mumbled.

The group must be worried sick, or worse, think she was dead. She looked at the strange creature; a lóngguī. Its eyes were an azure color. Its shell was painted the same color, but had long faded. She sat down next to it, her legs extended, and her hands propping her up. All she could do was wait for the rest of them, and maybe get some answers to her questions.

The group encountered many wild animals, Finn holding them off, until they had at last reached the beach at the northwest part of the island.

"We can't swim across, so we're going to have to build a boat."

Simon had just finished his thought when Finn's sword cut the trees next to the beach. The sword fashioned three expertly crafted canoes from three trees. This time, Finn was grateful it acted of its own accord.

He and Water Princess grabbed one of the boats, placed it in the water, and started sailing away. Jake grabbed one, and grabbed Peppermint Butler. Simon carried the last one. Placing it on the water. Marceline, still by the trees, applied her sun block, and walked over to the boat.

They would have to continue their journey to the island on the canoes. Unfortunately, it would take a few days, and there wasn't any food besides what they had gathered (fruits and meat) on the island.

They were close, but not close enough. The Keeper was still out there, doing who knows what.
