Disclaimers: I do not own PLL or the characters. I do not own Ronan. The rights belong to Singer Taylor Swift. I do own all OCs.
Spoilers: None
Rating: K+

Notes: Here is the second chapter. I had fun writing these sections. They are not very long, but they do focus on Ronan laughing, and then the kids running down the hallway.

I was originally going to wait until I had all 10 chapters finished, but I currently have a 6-week-old kitten named Mittens asleep in my arms ? and it's making me feel generous, so

Enjoy! :)

Baby giggles

*November 18th, 2020 5 months old*

"Mamma, Mamma! Watch this!"

Aria glances up from where she is cooking dinner to see Juliet by Ronan's baby swing. The four-year-old leans forward, pretending to "eat" her little brother's feet, and…

Baby giggles.

A full-on belly laugh erupts from the 5-month-old.

"See, Mamma? He started doin' it at Nana's house!" She demonstrates again. "Nom-nom-nom, I gonna eat your piggies!"

And here Aria thought Ronan cooing was her new favorite sound.

*December 2020 6 months old*

The time they have waited for is finally here: Santa Clause pictures with all three kids.

Now, this has been a little… difficult in the past. You see, while Rosie is the quieter of the two, and Jules is loud, happy, and assertive, it was Juliet who cried for their first pictures. Rosie sat there like such a big girl, smiling and holding onto her favorite stuffed animal, while Juliet was so upset that Spencer actually picked her back up, and only Rosie is in that first photo.

But now?

Well, now both 4-year-olds sit beside the old man dressed as Santa, and they prepare to keep Ronan calm and happy only, that is not necessary.

Because as soon as the 6-month-old is placed in his lap, he takes one look at this man who has a red and white suit and a long, white beard, and then…

Bursts into giggles.

The full-on belly laugh that babies do.

It actually stuns everyone there – the twins, Spencer and Aria, the camera man, and the few parents in line who were all prepared to do that sympathetic wincing face as they listen to a baby wail while being held by a stranger.

In fact, it stuns them so much that no one says a word. Juliet is staring at Ronan while Rosalie is looking to her moms who look at each other and then to the camera man, who seems to be in shock, as if he suddenly stepped into an alternate dimension where babies are actually happy to be doing this.

After a few moments, Ronan settles, and he moves his gaze from this strange man holding him frontwards to where his mommies are standing. The camera man looks to them, as well, and time seems to resume itself.

Aria calls out for the twins to look at the camera and smile real big, and all three children happily comply.

*April 2021 – Easter 10 months old*

"Oh, Rosie, someone would like to play with you."

5-year-old Rosalie is pulled from sleep with those words. She opens her eyes and sees, first, her mamma, then, her little brother, 10-month-old Ronan.

"Bah-bah-bah!" The baby boy "gently" hits her face, giggling immensely. It is not until Rosie really focuses on him, in his bunny ears, that she realizes…

"It's Easter! The Easter Bunny came!"

She pops up so fast that Ronan falls off of her, but of course, this just makes him laugh harder, as he tries to copy her.

"Come on, Ro-Ro! Let's go see what the Bunny bringed us!"

Bare feet, slap, slap, giggle…

*July 4th, 2021 13 months old*

"Come on, Bubba!" She hears it before seeing them. It is early on a Sunday morning, the fourth of July, to be exact. Aria rolls over onto her back and listens for that telltale sign her favorite sound is coming.

Three sets of bare feet slapping against the hardwood flooring of their hallway. Slap, slap, slap, giggle…

"Bubba, here, you open da door." She hears 5-year-old Juliet say to her now 13-month-old little brother, before she hears the clicking of the door handle. "Come on! Rosie, go to mommy, we'll go to mamma."

Slap, slap, slap, giggle

Yeah, it is definitely one of her favorite sounds.

*August 2021 14 months old*

Slap, slap, slap, giggle…

"I'm gonna to get you!"

"Here they come." Spencer quips to her wife, as they await their three children who, obviously, have just woken up from their naps, and are now chasing each other down the hallway.

Slap, slap, slap, giggle, shriek

"Go, go, Bubba! Don't let Sissy get you!"

Rosie has opened up so much in the last 14 months. She is more outspoken, more confidant. She says she wants to be this way so she can help Juliet teach Ronan how to speak up for himself.

"Go to da kishen! Go to Mommy!"

Slap, slap, slap, giggle…

"Mamma!"

Aria quickly wipes her hands on a towel before catching her little boy.

"Hey, Bud! Is Sissy chasing you?"

The 13-month-old little nods quickly, wide-eyed and breathless, but happy, not scared.

"Uh-huh!"

"Well then," Aria takes him over to the sliding door that leads to their spacious, but kid-proofed, backyard. She places him on the back deck that far big enough and protected that they can still run, only safely now.

"You better run, here they come!"

At that moment, the twins enter the room, hurrying straight for the back deck and their baby brother.

Aria looks to Spencer, seeing that smile she fell in love with all those years ago. And they listen to the sounds of their family while continuing to make dinner.

Slap, slap, slap, giggle, shriek…

*September 2021 – Labor Day weekend15 months old*

"Everyone go to the front door and wait for Mommy!" Aria calls out as she sticks her head of her bedroom, sending those words towards her older daughters' bedroom, where she knows all three kids are playing.

"Okay, Mamma!" Juliet calls back.

"Come on, Bubba! We're going to da beesh! Get your toy bag!"

"Beesh, beesh!"

"Yeah, the beach." This is Rosalie. "We'll see da water and da sand and we can make sandcastles! Come on, let's go find Mommy."

Slap, slap, slap, giggle…

The footsteps get closer and then fade away. She knows she does not have to say it — no running on the steps! — because she knows Rosie and Jules, no matter how excited, will always protect their little brother.

But, that does not stop her from listening.

Slap, slap, slap, giggle…

They are going to the beach. It will be Ronan's first time seeing the sand and water, and she cannot wait. The twins absolutely loved it ever since they actually understood what was going on. Rosie is little fish while Juliet is content to stay in the sand for all of eternity.

Aria things it'd be fun if Ronan was a mix of his sisters' reactions.

Well, there is the next chapter. I have most of this story planned out, and it is finally coming together! As of now, I have this set to be only 10 chapters. I am going to separate the lyrics into different sections and write chapters based on them. It will turn ugly pretty quickly, this is your warning!

Please review and let me know what you thought! :)
